Once again i find myself under a rock behind the times this a new round for me i am still dealing with the 6.5 Grendel and all of it ‘s usual antics lol
Kenny at Desert Precision Gunworks 6ARC barrels are absolutely amazing . They are the only SUB MOA barrels I've seen out of gas guns with factory Black 105g BTHP. His YT Channel is called Eagle Eye . He has amazing info on the 6ARC gas guns and how he was able to get good accuracy . I'm going to be picking up one of his Douglas 20" 1in8 6ARC barrels for sure . My 12.5" 6ARC is honestly my favorite shoot . It's such an awesome little rig to run . Either way bro I'm sure you'll figure it out . I've honestly had almost 0 mag issues with CPD mags . I'm also not shooting in any PRS Matches . I actually pulled my 6ARC out last weekend and ran 80 rounds through it and had 0 issues . I'm using SUPERLATIVE Adj LPGB and SS Gas Tube . I'm using YHM Turbo K with Kurz Kit . I'm not precision shooter by any means . I'm easily able to get 1.25 - 1.5 5 shot groups . I do not have any issues hitting 10" plate at distance . Im for sure gonna check out my gas TUBE. I've never heard of this clogging issue . Then again I'm a plug and play kinda guy and I dont pay attention to anything until I have an issue lol . I try to stay away from forums these days lol.
Sorry to hear you’re having reliably issues. I bought a complete cheaper 6mm arc Aero upper to play with and have had zero malfunctions (300 rounds). It’s an 18” SS 1/7 with the VG6 muzzle device. Running the Aero bolt, gas block, 2.96 oz buffer w/standard carbine spring. Not the most spectacular accuracy but consistent 1-1.5 moa with 105gr. Only unusual thing I’m visually experiencing is an odd marking on the face of the buffer. I must’ve gotten lucky
That's about the accuracy I've gotten with 105s and 108s. I just bought an EC Tuner brake to hopefully clean that up; will report back soon! Also hoping this adjustable gas block will help with reliability. We'll get it sorted out!
Try a barrel from Sanders Armory they are in your neck of the woods I bought two barrels 18 inches R5 rifling right off the bat, one shot .490” and the other one is averaging .620”
Have you shot some groups with the can? It will usually tighten up your groups but not always. If you don't want to reload I would try a inertia bullet puller and move the bullet out .020-.030" and reseat it with a L.E. Wilson seating die to the jump your barrel likes. You could use a mallet with the seating die but an arbor press would be nicer, but not a must. It would be a cheap and easy way to tune your load a little.
I put a few out with the can but didn't see an improvement (and went back to being way overgassed). I just received an EC Tuner Brake so we'll see how that does!
One of the parameters I have not been testing is reloading for 6ARC. I know a lot of shooters have had good success there, however, I've been focused on the factory options. Hoping there is continued effort from other manufacturers on factory ammo options soon!
I have a custom built 24” 6arc gas gun. Was having similar reliability issues with mine! Tried changing gas settings with the sup. Arms GB multiple times with not much success. Finally switched to an Alexander arms 6.5 Grendel magazine and the reliability became a non issue. Flawless cycling with suppressor and no suppressor. Maybe something to try out… I feel the Alexander arms mags are stronger and don’t allow the feed lips to flex like the aluminum mags I was trying before. Good luck!
Personally, for comp, I wouldn't run the bigger mags for the exact reason you stated. Little pressure and it induced malfunctions. I run 10 rd c product mags and haven't had a issue. As for the ammo, the match ammo has been pretty consistent with velocity whereas the 105 black has sped way up during the warmer weather. I ran black ammo last match and wow, that was a mistake. Cost me a lot of points. Lessons learned. I do have a promising handload down for mine now. 105 berger hybrids with vihtavouri N150 with cci 400 primers. I seat at factory c.o.l. and run a erik cortina tuner/brake. Velocity is avg 2638 fps sd 8 es 25. Avg group size (so far) is .750". Out of a gasser I'll take it. As for being first in your division, been there. lol Can we even call it a win when we're the only ones there in the division? lol
What kind of group difference did you see with the EC Tuner? If I could get another .25 minutes out of it we’d be good. I breezed over the mag malfunction in the vid but yes, pressure on the front of the mag (pushing into a bag or barricade) caused some feed issues. I haven’t ever experienced that with PMAGs or Lancers in my 5.56 guns so that was a little surprise. I’ve heard a lot about temp instability with the 6ARC. Hope to see it get solved!!
For the price proof charges for their barrels they are very underwhelming. Tried two they just don't really shoot like they should for being that expensive

Congrats on the win. A win is a win!

Keep at it man!
We’re almost there. Maybe. 😂
Try the Elander magazine
Gave Elanders and ASC a shot; same issues. I don't see this being magazine related. Haven't tried the Geissele ones.

@@sunandshadow_llc Check the tuner frequently for loose screws. Mine had a hard time with the adjustment /tension screws holding.
@@rustynut1967 great tip- thank you!!
I wonder if using a powder like CFM would help mitigate the clogging issue?

Excellent slightly expensive journey so far.
😂 man you ain’t kiddin
Did you switch from a carbon barrel to a stainless? What are your barrel specs?
Still working with the stainless barrel. It’s the Proof 18” R+1 system.
@@sunandshadow_llc I'm waiting on Noveske to ship my 18 and 12.5 to give them a try
@@InkwellFoto just saw they got into the 6ARC game. Looking forward to seeing how they perform for you.
@@sunandshadow_llc I mixed your channel with The Adventure Ninja, he is using the Helix carbon fiber
Should put a rifle speed gas block on there it’s tool less for on the fly adjustment
Thanks for suggesting this; I hadn’t seen that one before
Also using Dura Mag 10 and 20 round mags
Thank you 😊
The Black had shot better than the Match for everyone. You lose a little BC but gain a little accuracy.
Drives me bonkers - it says “MATCH” right on the box but doesn’t shoot as well! What am I missing here
@@sunandshadow_llc We live in an imperfect world! : )
Put a EC tuner break on it and tune your barrel to the ammo!
Check out episode 8! 😉
