How to Vehicle to Home Power for Atto 3
The mic drop and mouse click noise everytime u stop is hell annoying
Hello, i have byd Atto 3 and i have encountred a charging problem howbcan i contact you?
Actually, studies show that LFP battery does fare better with charge cycles at low SoC. However, the improvement does not mean it will not outlive the rest of your car even if you charge it to 100% every time. It will still outlive your car even if you do that. In any case, the best recommendation is to balance once every week (i.e charge to 100%) and let it go down slowly to around 20% then either charge to 80% if a week still hasn't elapsed or it's time to balance again. But then again, LFP batteries have a huge longevity so it doesn't matter all that much.
Thanks...
Hi! I want ask you all something. I own an Atto 3. In the winter when you need to open the heat, apart from pressing the fan button and adjusting the temperature do yo also have to press the A/C button to get the right temperature? On my Atto 3 if I don’t press the A/C button on winter even if I set the temperature very high the air coming from the vents is not warm enough just luke warm. It’s very confusing because I don’t want to use A/C in the winter since A/C uses more power. This issue is bugging me so much and I can not find an answer anywhere. Thanks!
I believe you need the A/C on for heat, but as I live on the gold coast I have never heated the cabin
@ Thanks for the reply.

Does the camera constantly record or shuts down when car turned off? Just thinking of battery drain. We'te getting our Atto 3 in 4 weeks (UK). Thanks.
only while running
Does the BYD already have a dashcam fitted or have you fitted one yourself?
Atto 3 alread has one
Can’t get my car to recognise the usb. Any ideas?
when you go to file manager does it not show the usb.

Sir Ian, I recently (November 2024) bought a second hand Yuan Plus from an importer. And I encountered a problem regarding its BYD App. I can’t accessed it due to former owner account still active maybe. Is there any way that I can access it or reaches it for new account?
Can I have a copy of your unauthorized owners guide?
Legend. Thanks for showing the details up close
Great video
Thank you sir
Does it work om Atto 3 2024? Just got the car last month
Дякуємо вам,дуже корисне відео,підписка+лайк однозначно
HI Thanks for the video. Do you or anyone else know whether the BYD Dolphins sold in Australia ( mine is 2023 version) come with the inbuilt dashcam wiring. I understand the UK version doesn't , the Malaysian version does but what about the Australian version? Looks a far easier installation if this wiring is in place. Also when you take off the plastic cover did you have to take the small back section(attached to the rear vision mirror) off separately or can it all come off in one piece.
yes the dophin in Australia does have the wiring for the dashcam
I recently did a 4,500kms trip in my 2021 Tesla 3LR. More expensive car for sure but way better aerodynamics, motor efficiency etc. Longest single leg 404kms Geelong-> three Melbourne CBD stops (with Sentry Mode on- 8 cameras using power) ->uphill to the border. 25mins charge from a 250kW Tesla charger. Then two brief 12minute charge stops combined with coffee/toilet Gundagai & Exeter to North of Sydney. Each of these stops could have been shorter but were limited by coffee/toilet time (we took the coffee into the car). Home with 20% left. Total 920kms in well under 10hrs including charge stops. Indeed, quicker and more comfortable than my last time when I did it in a 508GT turbo diesel Peugeot. So, you do get what you pay for. The BYD Seal would be better than an Atto for long distance travel. However, Atto is still very useable and one of the cheapest EVs and you just need to set expectations on range. It will probably always be quickest to charge less and have more stops. Plus charging to 100% might deprive other EVs of the chance to quickly charge so in general avoid doing this. Providers are trying to get 200kms max between chargers on major routes which means you can have regular rest stops and get some charge at the same time without anxiety. Anyway, you have demonstrated that the Atto can make long trips as long as you have realistic range expectations and are prepared to hang around somewhat while charging.
Technically this is wrong, LFP still doesn't "like" below 20 and above 80 but it's more resilient to it
Sorry to disagree, but all manufacturers of vehicles with LFP batteries all say charge to 100% regularly.
I do believe that an LFP battery is still a lithium ion battery. I think that you are referring to nickel, manganese, cobalt chemistry lithium ion batteries Vs lithium, iron, phosphate chemistry lithium ion batteries. both use the migration of lithium ions through an electrolyte from one electrode to the other. I also think that it would be more accurate to say that regularly charging an LFP battery to 100% is less damaging than doing so with a NMC battery rather than saying that regularly charging an LFP battery to 100% is perfectly fine. Some studies have shown that maintaining a low state of charge is better for longevity in LFP batteries, but occasionally charging to 100% to maintain cell balance is essential. Also, the slower a battery is charged, the cooler it stays whilst charging. Heat is the enemy of any lithium ion battery when it comes to longevity. Fast charging heats the battery more than slow charging and therefore degrades the battery faster. the worst case scenario would be to deplete the battery to a very low state of charge and then fast charge to 100%. both the low state of charge and the 100% state of charge degrade the battery and the extra heat during fast charging degrades it even more. Conversely, the best case scenario would have to be more frequent, shorter charge times at a slower, cooler rate, and from a mid range state of charge. Daily slow charging, at home, on a 10 amp outlet, from around 60% to around 80%, with a monthly charge to 100%, would give the greatest life span for an LFP battery. If this can be done overnight , using off peak rates, it is also by far the cheapest way to charge.
Sorry to disagree but LFP batteries are lithium iron phosphate
@@BYD_Telsa @BYD_Telsa Please, don't be sorry. You didn't disagree at all. That is exactly what I said. Please read all of my comment. Specifically the second sentence. please justify your comment and let me know what part of my comment was incorrect. Is an LFP battery not a lithium ion battery that works by utilising the flow of ions from one electrode to the other electrode via an electrolyte? In the case of an LFP battery, lithium ions? I understand that Wikipedia can be inaccurate but there are many other great references to information about the workings of lithium ion batteries including LFP batteries. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_iron_phosphate_battery Maybe you should Google it. Hello Ian Thanks for your videos. Very informative. My Atto 3 2023 model does not give me an audible alert for the rear cross traffic alert when there is traffic crossing behind me. Your video shows an audible alert when this is happening. I only get a flashing light in my mirror. I have set all the parameters, in the ADAS to activate it. Any ideas.
How to recover the deleted vidio please 🙏
I'm pressing the button but it's won't work? Is there another method?
Please note that Waze is pronounced “wayze”.
BYD told me they don't support frunks for atto 3 because the battery is there and they don't want anything in that space that may increase temperature such as aftermarket frunk which will cramp the open space
I know it's sodium😂
Ar u sure the BYD Atto 3 is lithium iron phospqte😂
Is the recorder constantly recording? If so, what's the storage capacity before having to delete older recordings?
yes it is recording all the time. You will need to check the size of the SD Card
