Can you not use UA-cam from Android Auto or Apple CarPlay ?
Have you checked the parameter "[BASU] HV Battery Pack Current Nominal Capacity"? If that value matches your measurement? If yes, then there would be no need to deep discharge the pack: just divide this value by the Factory Capacity one and you get SOH, I think.
This no longer works since the last software update. The usb is recognized but no longer brings up the access code regardless of format or file names. Hence you cant install it. Can you do an updated video if its still possible to install chrome onto the atto 3?
No frunk in the new model! I am glad I got mine when i did!!!
I find my battery on Atto3 has dropped 4% daily at idle since 3 4 weeks ago, is there anyway to identify the root cause ? Does it need Cell rebalance or something draining my battery ?

I watched your video again and again to see if I was doing anything different my experience is the same as yours in terms of range I do most of my driving in the City. The real range of this car is around 300 KM to 5% (average) I have done this experiment 4 times in ECO mode now similar results. Atto-3 is a good car , however for a country like Australia the battery pack too small. Should have been 80 KW, As some people have commented FYI anyone looking to buy an EV, look a WLTP range and take out at least 100 KM. One last thing 2023 Atto-3 is not compatible to tesla version 3, 4 super chargers. As things are going BYD has no plans to fix this. There is a fix for seal 2023 not for Atto-3.
Is there anyway to use the keyboard with android auto. Once it loads, only mouse pointer shows but not the keyboard.
Really enjoyed your voice over and trip report with the dash cam footage, tell me about a stressful drive in an EV. We did a trip Bris - Melb - Brisbane in my 28 ioniq it was horrible!!! Broken chargers, other EV drivers hogging the chargers by charging to 100% - doing the trip again this Christmas in my petrol car. Took us three days to get down and three days to get back.

DC charging algorithm also needs work. At the moment DC charging causes rapid gate and this could be easily avoided! DC charging ramps down to 50kW when highest cell reaches 46 celsius. The problem with this is the "intelligent temperature control" when rapid charging. It starts ramping up the A/C to cool down the battery and this ramping up time (10minutes) causes the over heating. Just make it so if DC charging is over 60kW AND battery temp is over 25c, ramp up the A/C to max cooling instantly without a ramp up time. This would make the rapid charging curve insanely smooth and keep 88kW charging speed up to or close to 60-70% soc.
3:05 unless ur on a massive hill, then u can charge to 97%, cause u have so much GPE (gravitational potential energy)

Hi. My atto 3 loses about 2% charge parking mode during night. I must say not have done self calibration to battery. Is it normal??
Yes it is normal. Make sure you charge to 100% once per week so the battery management is sorted

The manual says fully charging is recommended once a week, and from less than 10% every 3-6 months (p93). I have seen a recent email from BYD that says continuous AC, not DC, is required for the benefits of the 10-100% charge cycle.
Hi, nice video. Helped me at my own approach. I use a MeatPi Wican OBD to read out SoC of my Atto 3 and push it to my Smart Home/Energy Management. Though, I wanted to ask you, if you have long term experience with letting the adaptor be plugged in permanently. I have concerns draining the 12V battery, becaus mine is not powering off OBD sometimes as it seems. I expext OBD to be powerless when I park the car, turn it off and do not plug it in for charging.

I just got 1 last week! The dealership service centre prefer you have a front and not a random box. Also the service centre prefer the Velcro method!

With all-electric cars there is another consideration to charging and that's the temperature of the batteries. I have noticed a quirk of the Atto 3 is that says you come home and the battery is hot. You shut down the car but don't lock it the battery management system does not continue to cool the battery. Unless you lock the car. I have a bad habit of not locking the car and am probably doing harm to the battery. The same goes for a charging session if I unlocked the car to unplug and do not relock the car the battery cooling system remains off.
It seems like this is not specific to BYD, all modern cars has the same issue, and it is a deal breaker for me personally. Can't the car manufacturer offer a variant which is NOT ncap 5 stars and allows ALL the safety settings to be saved? I will gladly pay more for such model which is not ncap 5 stars!

Just updated to version 2403, and the annoying noises are essentially gone, and the LKA is now actually very well behaved. I no longer need to turn anything off.

Just got my BYD ATTO 3 DESIGN UK model March 24, apparently the Dash Cam app has been removed any body know why as it seems to be on all other countries & in the manual. Also noticed the front sensors aren't as effective anymore, rear are fine front intermittent & Cam comes on occasionally but no Beebs anymore
the app will appear when the camera is plugged in
I've got the BYD ATTO 3 DESIGN picked it up March 24, it's not a bad car & ok to drive, range isn't bad but i think any electric car will only benefit with home chargers, I've no off street parking & councils are way behind with allowing gutter cable channels installed outside. I noticed you didn't mention the BYD Camera which is a decent addition to this car but what you're not told or i wasn't that the Inbuilt Dash Cam is disabled in the UK which is ridiculous until it passes regulations 🤷🏻 its a safety feature you numpties get it passed as all other countries use it. Also the front sensors have been altered with an update apparently which i noticed from the hire car i had .The hire car front & rear sensors worked great & the front cameras came on to show you the distance, but with the update, the sensors are almost none existent & you are almost touching the object in front & this is poor. I mentioned both to the Dealership & they said they've always been like this: Bull💩 I've been Driving over 40yrs & front sensors are there to notify you. The dealership & BYD arnt being honest notifying you about the UK spec so ask. So they will tell you the sensor's only work when in reverse & the camera instantly comes on🤔 it does, but the front cameras can come on intermittently which i thinks a flaw, unsure about over the air updates as they can alter whatever they want😮

Great comparison, I think the reason the Seal Dynamic feels quite a bit faster than the Atto 3 is the a Seal being rear wheel drive sedan. It'll feel significantly more direct than a FWD SUV.
Nowhere in the owners manual does it state that it must be fully discharged to 0%.

Only question I have is that do i need to do calibration charge meaning twice a year, charge from <10% to 100% using AC. What if I don't do that but instead charge my battery around 30% to 100% everytime using AC?
Thanks, good work. Mine is Atto3 LiFePO3. I generally charge weekly, slow AC charge from 30% to 100%. About twice a year I do a calibration charge from <10% to 100% as recommended in the manual. I rarely do fast DC charging but on the occasions I do, I normally terminate when roll back to below 45KW occurs, or at 85% whichever comes first. This works fine on long trips. Personally I don't have a requirement for fast charging above 120KW and feel it is just an expensive feature that adds tens of thousands of dollars to the cost of EV motoring.
