I have been driving a Dolphine Premium. My whole family love it. The first week I charged it by 10A home power point. It took 9 hrs to charge. After installed a Tesla charger (32A 6kwh) it took less than 3hrs from 80+% to 100%. I charged it from breakfast time til it is fulled. The cost and labour of installing charger is app $1,400. Also my house has solar panels attached to the grids. That means getting free electricity on strong sunnydays.

I’m at the point where I’ve stopped trying to convince people of such points as you’ve made here. Life’s too short and I’ve got my Atto 3 to enjoy

Same here, at 80 yrs loving my Atto which I purchased after test driving much of the competition including ICE. I also usually only charge once a week, a slow AC charge every Sunday from my son's solar power.
I am steadily getting to grips with all the tech.
I agree, the quality of the Atto is very good. It is by a fair way the best car I have ever owned.
I have owned many over the years including my late not so lamented Merc that turned out to be a bit of a dog.

Have you considered the number of electronic components (transistors resistors capacitors coils wiring looms/runs etc etc) are in the inverter battery management & control systems coolant pumps radiators fans etc etc?

They are on a single board and mainly encapsulated in ICs. The are no moving parts that wear out. From my 45 years in electronics I can say that the danger of failure of electronics drops with age.

You are right I drive one for Uber much cheaper to run I have done 42300 km from middle of January this year.
I use to drive an Eclipse cross would cost me about $45 per day for petrol if I have to pay for charging at home was about $10 per day
I mostly charge a few hours from about 10 am on sunny day I am generating about 9 kw so is all free charge during that time. ❤ 26:33

Hi this topic is unrelated but you a computer/software and energy guru, this is about the vehicle to load feature on BYD ATTO 3
Do you know if the BYD ATTO 3 output is a pure wave form? I ask as I also have a BYD ATTO 3 and used my induction hot plate lots of times using the vehicle to load feature it worked perfectly for the first few months, later on the induction hot plate developed problems it may be a coincidence but the induction hot plate was faulting ie the temp set on hot plate it would ramp down to the lowest level it never did that before that’s using it on home 240v power, I ended up throwing unit away I guess if the power out of BYD is not pure swine wave it may have caused this fault? You suggestions please

I assume you are using 240v. the output of the Atto 3 240 volts is strange. It has 110v on one line and 110v on the second line combining to 220v. The ground is weird as well. I suggest you get an elecrician to test. You may need an isloution tranformer. The output of the Atto 3 is safe but strange. Hope that helps.

I own an ATTO3 so I don't need convincing. I did not know it had VTH capabilities, but even if it does last time I checked a 2-way charger was $10K, which on my numbers made it unviable. I was told then that a cheaper one (~$K2.5) would be coming on the market around now, but even then I think it would be marginal at best.

you dont need a two charger.

Watched the other VTH video:use VTL as VTH. That is OK for as long as H

Nicely done as usual. Having driven from Geelong to Yeppoon and back (5,000km) I agree that if you build charges in to coffee, food and toilet breaks there is no problem. We only struck one dud charger and found the coastal route very relaxing when it came to charging. We should also take into account the very important carbon emissions and pollution of ICE vehicles and their impact on global heating as opposed to EVs.
