Thanks, and agree - from what I’ve read/heard, it’s not disabling it as much as ‘toning it down’ a bit so (for instance) the LKA isn’t quite so aggressive. Keep up the great work1

    @Cam-uo8ey 8 місяців тому +5

Whether the lane keep assist is a sound or a vibration it needs to be toned right down - it is far too aggressive. The intelligent cruise control on the other hand is very good - subtle movements.

Thanks for the video. Many of the commentators on Tom's and your channel are real Seal owners, often existing Telsa, BMW or Mercedes owners, so they have pretty high standards for how these things should operate.
Are you able to include screen shots for the Seal UI to do what you are describing in this video? The Atto 3 does not appear to operate exactly the same as the Seal. For example, disabling the sound for the speed warning?

I guess the question everyone wants to know is do you own a BYD Seal and if so you can confirm that when the changes are made that you recommend they are saved and the process does need to be done every time you start the vehicle.
If the vehicle does not save the changes, then an update is required, so they do save once select like the Atto 3 does.

"Simply not true. Just isn't true" Dude..I have a seal and I can promise you those settings do NOT stick. I have to change them every time I start the damn car and I've been yelling at BYD about it since before Christmas. I notice the software in one of your other vids looks very different to mine though. For example, I don't have an option to set the ISLI threshold in the TSR menu, only to turn ISLI off or on. Can you post a screenshot of your software version screen?

I admire people who go to the effort of making UA-cam videos. But this guy is not respecting comments from people who actually own a Seal, he only owns an Atto 3 and is assuming the Seal is identical. And he doesn't need to take our word for it, there are countless other UA-camrs who have demonstrated that these settings don't stick, including Tesla Tom.

Is there a new or plan from BYD to let owners at least to stick our preferences? Keep them saved... (Lane assisst on vibration, and ISLC -ON and ISLI - OFF)
If every time we start up tur car we must confir everything over again...this sitiation will become utterly disappointing...
Hoping a solution to at leasy as I mentioned before, owners can at least saved islc on and isli off...

To me the simplest would be to allow you to set the ADAS as you prefer and save them, and then for every startup have a warning come up that says “The following safety systems have been selected off……..Press or to change.” That requires a conscious effort to acknowledge but only needs one button press.
These requirements are just the power trip of pointy-head bureaucrats who ‘know best’ and think they need to protect people from themselves.

It seems like this is not specific to BYD, all modern cars has the same issue, and it is a deal breaker for me personally. Can't the car manufacturer offer a variant which is NOT ncap 5 stars and allows ALL the safety settings to be saved? I will gladly pay more for such model which is not ncap 5 stars!

Agree the Atto 3 def remembers ADAS settings. Mine has been relatively beep-free for months. No idea about the Seal. Likely a firmware issue. Why don’t the ppl arguing about what the Seal can/can’t do compare firmware versions? I am also not happy with Atto LKA after last update, its performance has reduced.

    The lane Keep..
    Grate Idea..
But there are many places in my area were the lines are BAD...
Either Two Center lines (where old ones Not Fully Removed)
and I know EVERY time I drive in this area but the Wheel will Grab trying to tell me am I out of the lines ...
I Like the lane Keeping But need to find a option that will stick to stop this Wheel Grabbing...
    My other Issue..
The car will tell me if I am driving over the speed limit from the Map Data.. (with all the New Roads and Sub division) this is often on longer correct (I Miss my Side Loaded Google Maps 😭)
Is there a option where the car will disregard Map Data and Use its Camera Data for speed limit alerts??

Guessing we are still at the point where the Seal has these annoyances and they require silencing after every switch on?
Looking to get a demo car but not being able to switch off or silence most of that dross permanently could be a show stopper if it hasn’t or isn’t being addressed. My model S can be fully silenced and it permanently saves the settings and it’s also NCAP 5….and it’s nearly 6 years old….so why can’t BYD?

BYD ATTO 3. 3 weeks ago my infotainement display asked me to install ota 1.7,which i did.(Did not receive info by email from BYD yet.) Since then the LKS sometimes does not work, beeps only, vibrates only or vibrites and beeps togheter. My car setting is beep only. My parking assistence system is become unreliable.Park in spot in front of garden beds no warning of being to close to plants. Return to the car, switch the car on ; parking alarm comes on with beeps, red and yellow lights flashing ,very puzzling. Contacted BYD Melbourne and was told make a service booking we can accommdate you 1st of February. Love my ATTO 3.,but no great fan of BYD Australia. This is sommething to lookout for you in the near future.

@willymosselmans2675 have the same issue on our Atto 3 since the 1.7 update. Front bumper sensors are hit of mis. Not sure about the rear sensors. Sounds like a software issue, which is better than a hardware issue. Just need BYD to roll out an OTA update.
Also, what's with the replacement pedestrian warning sound. I didn't completely dislike the previous tone warning sound, just a little too loud. It's now been replaced with a low-level sound similar to when you press the brake pedal at low speed, you can hear the disc pad on the rotors, now we have a similar "scraping" sound for the pedestrian warning. Sounds pretty crappy if you ask me. Another fix required BYD.

Are you talking the pedestrian warning sound? That's also a myth. They didn't mute it, they changed it to something more subtle. If you turn your inside fans off and put your window down you can hear it - it's like a white noise/static noise. Also there is a new option to turn it off completely if you want. It's all under Settings / Vehicle Settings / Notifications.

Just remember that ANCAP is only an ADVISORY body.
ANCAP has no regulatory power as that belongs to the federal government through its Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018. Under this Act it administers the Australian Design Rules (ADRs). Vehicle safety standards are enforced through the ADRs, not ANCAP.
Anything in the ADRs that cover audible or haptic warnings for the safety features causing concern to BYD owners (or any other model for that matter) that are instanced in the many video reviews on UA-cam will generally be embedded in the technical requirements adopted by United Nations Regulations, or other international standards which are often deemed to be equivalent. In this specific matter you will find a note in the Regulations that clearly states this:
"Actual conditions and features in the real world should not result in false warnings or false braking to the extent that they encourage the driver to switch the system off."
A legal implication of this is that REMOVING the warning system (eg removing a fuse) would breach the regulation, but that a vehicle manufacturer should include the facility to TURN OFF the warning system where it failed real world practicalities, and the rules do provide for "deactivation." More information on "warnings" can be found in Australian Design Rule 98/00 for anyone interested.
