I took delivery of the premium earlier this week - it is quite simply the best car I've ever driven. Not sure I'd want something any faster to be honest. I find the speed ridiculous (especially in sport mode) and going to be hard to avoid speeding fines. Being rear wheel drive also is sensational around bends and roundabouts - also has the best range of the three.
I just test drove the Premium today in Australia and I'll second you on your comments. Absolutely fantastic and more than fit for purpose. For 99% of people the 5.9 sec to 100 km/h is more than enough and the suspension is brilliant in the premium. Very easy to start creeping higher and higher in specifications and models based on flashy suspension and 0-100 km/h times, when in actual fact you just don't need it. To put things in perspective, I currently own a Hyundai i30N (manual transmission) which has a 0-100 km/h time of 5.8 seconds! I'll be buying the premium and save myself 10k.
Interesting to see the sedan is making some what of a comeback. I credit the Model 3 with this subtle shift in the market. BTW, what you call the "Premier" is actually called the "Premium".
Hi. I know you like the Performance but the link for the Dynamic review is... well I'm having trouble finding your review. There are snippets here but a full review of just the Dynamic are scarce on YT. Thx.
I had a performance on order and changed it to the dynamic... now you've got me all confused. I figured it doesn't handle as well as a tesla and the software is a bit buggy, so let's just go with the basic to make the most of the stamp duty exemption and ev rebate. 48k drive away in nsw and you keep 20k in hand for another ev next year. And by my reckoning the dynamic will be easier to resell for 35k in 2 years than a performance which will lose more. What do you think.
@@BillyWallace785 what pissed me off about the tesla is the ac. The thing won't blow cold air on your face. Its seriously crap. If you can live with 400km round trip range and like the idea of Android auto and conventional stalks, but don't want to overpay for crap adas that isn't future proof, dynamic seems best bet. 48k walkaway. 95% as good as the performance for 95% of the time. Can't do 0-100 in Sydney. At best 0-60... and it's too waffly for it be a genuine performance car so why pay extra for all the grunt if it's not of any real use in everyday conditions.
Lol at Byd performance driving better than the Tesla highland long range is farcical. Tesla has instant power and one pedal driving, byd has neither. I drove them back to back. Obvious you're BYD all the way.
Beautiful car. Much more luxurious interior than Tesla. I love the seat stitching. And I appreciate gear shift lever, turn signal stalk, instrument cluster screen, and some physical buttons. I’m not into EVs, but if I were, I’d want this.
You said you love the Atto 3 (7.3s) and the Seal Premium (5.9s) is faster than it. I think the bottom line is do you want to pay the ongoing yearly insurance premiums. I currently pay under $700 for the Atto 3 insurance and just recently got a quote for the tesla model 3 performance which came in at around $1590, so I would expect the Seal Performance to be similar insurance cost. For me it is a no brainer, buy the Premium Seal with the $6000 QLD government rebate if you earn < $180,00 per year (No QLD rebate for the Seal Performance I believe). I think if I owned the Performance it would only be a matter of time before I would be contributing to the government coffers and paying more for insurance!!!
I was pleasantly surprised regarding insurance for the Performance Seal. Only around $100 more than the Premium. Under $1200. So now I can ignore the insurance question. Just need to justify spending an extra 10k Premium>Performance. Only an amazing difference in test driving both will sort that question. And whether I can get a Seal safely into my carport without scraping the underneath of the front bumper...
It seems like the lane keep assist is very intrusive, unless you have the indicator on? Not just with beeps but also with corrective wheel movement. Early reviewers complained about this but it doesn't look like they've improved things. They all recommend to turn this driver assist off. Unfortunately, it has to be done every time you start the car.
@@BYD_Telsa I was talking to my 12 yo son yesterday about the Holden Belmont, Kingswood and Premier. I was trying to explain how the Belmont was entry level with the Kingswood having more, and then the "luxury" Premier. Laughable stuff now when you think about it. 🙂
To be f air to the car, you did deserve most of those beeps…the amount of times you started changing lanes before you indicated, or didn’t indicate at all…I was starting to wonder whether I’d have to order the after market indicator fluid in preparation for my Premium… 😅

Yes it is a fast car. The Performance is crazy fast.
@@BYD_Telsaharder to justify so fast when we live with so many speed cameras!
The Premium’s handling has been the comment from a couple of professional reviews……a driver’s car……

What is the difference in insurance between the premium and sport , that could be the deal breaker

Yes
Good review , how was the sun coming through the roof
10'c cooler than tesla
19:10 the atto range is 420km so actually seal dynamic has more 460 vs 420 :)
480

The Performance is unbelievable. Fantastic handling, better than Tesla. It will hold is value. No like an ICE performance it can’t be thrashed.
Have you test driven a Tesla?

$48,000 get you a more comfortable cabin than tesla, a proper ac, a roof that doesn't get hot, an ac that works and seats that are more comfortable.

Can someone confirm if the Seal can charge on Tesla super charger V3?
Do you mean allowed to: Yes but only on some. Do you mean will it charge to max available, No the Dynamic max is 110 nad the others are 150
@@BYD_Telsa no i think he means will it actually charge as Atto 3 won't charge on V3 only V2
Thanks for the video. How would you comparatively rate the three for road noise?
actually there was road noise
Only thing that would make a difference is the different tyre size, 225 r18 vs 235 r19. There is a marginal and barely noticeable difference in noise

Maybe you missed or i missed it or not, but the seal dynamic is rear wheel drive and atto 3 is not, that's another difference
Q: why are motorcycles like vampires?
A: because you can't see them in your mirrors!
---> headcheck!
PS ... thankyou for your review!!! seriously considering one - would be great if the upgraded suspension was available in RWD only
The difference in Queensland between the premium and the performance is $16k with the subsidy……3.8 vs 5.9 is not worth it in my opinion
The premium is the clear value pick, especially with the longer range
Plus the ongoing yearly huge insurance costs.
@@sammaimas155 you must have got a poor quote ….mine has been reasonable at $1100 pa full replacement low excess.
