Hi Shelly, I am not a quilter but I love listening to the ins and outs of quilting. Loved the 3 friends legacy quilt that will go to your daughter. Also a very heart felt story about baptizing the person with cancer. You helped bring serenity to her mind and spirit, something that will help her face her remaining days with grace and courage. I was sewing a flower last night. I always did 2 stitches with a knot starting and ending. Last night I was counting 3 out loud 😅!! I also liked your suggestion about not folding the seam allowance over too tight. I need to double check my needles and my threader, I understand now after your explanation, great tip! You and Kari have given me new inspiration ❣️

I purchased a hexi punch from Michaels and make my own templates from Bristol board. I’ll have to check if it’s 1 1/2 inches.

I have a tip that I do to hold the template on the fabric. I punched 2 holes in my template, then using appliqué pins I pin in one hole and out the other. The appliqué pins are shorter so the thread doesn’t get caught (much). This was a game changer for me.

I am a multi -crafter as well and am really enjoying seeing quilting!! You have a natural gift of teaching for sure. I have always been interested in EPP, but have never fully understood it until now-thank you!! I am finishing a quilt presently and am really considering joining in😊

I’m finding this so interesting! I’ve done quilting but never EPP. One question: are you going through the paper as well as the fabric when you’re stitching the basting of the material and when connecting the pieces?

Fabulous video, Shellie. Thank you for the hard work you did to prepare for your very thorough explanation and demonstration! I too have a Sizzix Big Shot Pro. Plus, I have a lot of AccuQuilt dies I can use in my Sizzix Big Shot Pro with a Sizzix Big Shot Pro Accessory Adapter G for Thinner Steel-Rule Dies (Item # 661518). There are workarounds when one does not have an Adapter G. Another tip: AccuQuilt offers numerous AccuQuilt Go! dies that cut varied hexagon sizes.

For the sew baste did you go through the paper or just through fabric?
