This was the best video Shelly. I’m 75 and had never seen any of the lessons you taught. My grandma taught me to sew, etc., but never anything about what you showed me! I’m so excited to try these knots! Thank you! You’re the best!!!

I couldn’t be happier with the “learn with me” segment! Thank you for taking the time to video this. Often times I think people assume too much and this is a prime example of helping others and you have the willingness to do so… thank you for not assuming we know it all! Please keep these “lessons” going as they are SO helpful!💕(Rachel says hi❣️)

Thank you! I didnt catch this one when it came out but soooo glad i found it. The pin stitch instructions made what Id been trying to teach myself very clear and now i think i can! But the real gift for me was the "thread on finger" trick to thread a needle! Oh wow! I will still have to use a threader to re-thread 2 strands but oh wow now i can thread one strand without "help"! Thank you! At almost 70 I had never seen that method.

You just changed my life! I have been stitching for 43 years and the 'away knot' is a game changer as I have been flipping my frame over to be sure I was covering my thread in order to anchor it. Wow! Thank you for taking the time to show us these techniques.

As a self taught cross stitcher, I am very happy to learn from you the tips you gave in this video! I’ve never seen the threading of a needle as you showed but I’m going to master it now😀. Also the sewing method does look to be so much quicker once you get used to stitching on the top of your fabric. I’ve done the poke and stab method on Aida and now on linen but you taught me a better technique. Thank you for all the content in this video and taking time out of your day to give us some great information with great visual detail! ❤

Thank you Shellie! This was so helpful. I love the threading of the needle method. I can't wait to try it. I learned to sew, not stitch, from my Kom and we always wet the end of the thread by our to gue. Well, nowadays, that just won't t do so, thank you so much!! Enjoyed seeing g the pin stitch and away stitch although something in the back of my mind tells me I did this in the 80s. I stopped as my thumb would be so painful but picked it up again in 2018, and the thumb is fine. But so much is new to me now. Appreciate you taking your time to show us all these fun techniques. Wishing you a blessed Palm Sunday and Holy Week. 🌴✝️❤️

Great job teaching all of those techniques! And through a camera no less--you are an awesome teacher. I stitch just like you do--the sewing method in a hoop with the linen a little loosy goosy. The best! I have used the pin stitch for several years, but I haven't seen those other knot methods. Good to know. How you thread your needle is amazing. I tried it but can't do it yet. I will keep practicing because that is cool. Thank you for your time, you are so generous. @cbellsew

I have been stitching fo rthe last 40 years. The best thing i think i ever learnt was the 2 handed way of stitching with my work on a floor frame and the parking method. Before that i had held the material with one hand and stitched with the other. and i am still learning things especially with the threading of the needle. At the moment i am doing a counted stitching Henry VIII on 28 aida and it is so confetti heavy in places lol. WIth these knots it may just be that little bit more easier . I have been using a single thread 1 over 1 and i have been starting off by the same kind of pin stitch *splitting the weave* and been leaving off the same way and making sure the leave off stitch is not seen. I have given you a huge thumbs up and a you have a new subscriber from me . Much love from Australia

I just have always run over my thread for many stitches to secure it. I do so appreciate your educational videos; keep em coming. Getting quite an education on counted cross stitching. very interesting to know why you stitch from left to right (because of needlepoint, interesting). I've always done a row of half stitches and then returned. again, thank you!

I do suggest that when using the sewing method to use that throughout the design or throughout the area as sewing does make for a stitch that sticks out more. Also uses more fiber, not that it probably will be noticed if you have lots of fiber.
