You make me dizzy with all that you do! Your video helped entertain me as I made a large batch of spaghetti sauce to be canned for my son and his family. All I was thinking as I cut the veggies to throw in the pot was "I would rather be stitching or quilting.". Hopefully my grandkids will appreciate the sauce! That Blackbird would be lovely to stitch after the garden stuff is done. Thanks for entertaining and inspiring me!
Enjoyed the video. How satisfying to dye, spin and then stitch with wool from your sheep! Such a connection to the talented people in the past! Some black wool would be fabulous to stitch a Blackbird monochromatic piece.

Newish watcher, have seen the last 3-4 videos. I was born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati - moved away to CA (long story) before Keepsakes was born but know the area well. My BFF still lives there on the west side and I sadly haven't been back to visit for over 10 years. Just wanted to comment that I'm in the muslin/plain backing on my quilts club. I don't use muslin but buy a bolt of white nice quality moda fabric from FQS. When you buy a full 15 yard bolt they give you a 15% discount which makes the cost about $8-9 a yard. I tell people in the "olden" days people would not have used their pretty fabric on the back. I bought the Any Town, Tiny Town chart and plan on naming the shops after places in Cincinnati like Graeters, Skyline, etc Love your videos.
I have never quilted but have my grandma's Dutch girl or Sunbonnet Sue pattern. It needs some love and a few small repairs from use. I do sew so (sew so) know I could. I love all the things, too many... I just think its so special that you're making the labels for your little quilting Q-along❤
I love finishing benders! So inspiring. All your finishes are great, but yes, you should be so proud of that little red sampler pillow. Spinning your own thread. Wow. Next you'll be weaving your own linen. Ha. I love how you inserted the dowel in your Santa hanging...clever way to close it up.
And your drum looks amazing. Love that Cheddar and coal fabric...I bought some too, haven't decided how I'm going to use it.. Looking forward to seeing the quilts you and the others are making. Happy stitching all the things... Blackbird

Wonderful floss tube that you did by yourself even though we missed Liz. I am so amazed at spinning thread! Wow!🎉 . And who doesn't love a blackbird? Most times they do fit on a fat quarter! Still haven't made a strawberry yet but it's on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing everything

Oh Shellie, what Amazon eye candy, I feel like I will have to watch again, I know I missed something. Love Blackbird patterns, just took Midnight Watch to Hobby Lobby to get it framed, the gentleman matched the frame on the cover of the pattern. It took me a year to finish so I had to have a great finish. ❤️😆 really like the way you finished most of your patterns but especially loved the Santa on a hanging piece of fabric with the dowel in the top hidden!!!! I have so many 2 1/2” squares so took a screen shot. Hello Liz, see you next time. Happy Stitching 🧵😆🥰👵
Loved this special flosstube. Love love love your little red sampler with your homespun red thread. How wonderful it must feel to spin your wheel. I must try stitching with wool now. You are a reel number one enabler as well. I ordered from the Wishing Thorn. Super excited to get my order.

I guess I now have to purchase Jan Hicks pattern now. I don’t do well on stitch alongs. I join so I feel I’m stitching with friends 😮😮.

Shellie, I am amazed at how many things you accomplish, especially when you are interested in so many things. I love your prairie schooler Santa, I have finished them years ago like that and they are some of my favorite decorations. That drum is beautiful and I have trouble embroidering the fabrics together too. That blackbird book is wonderful. Missed you Liz.

I truly enjoyed seeing your podcast this week, though Liz was missed. All your stitching and crafting is perfect. I used to sew knitting bags and sold them on Etsy, as knitting was my first love, now second to cross stitch, so when you were using a Sock bag that I made a few years ago, It brought tears to my eyes, that someone still has one of them and uses it 😘. I did stop selling my bags and I did it for 11 years and just got burnt out doing it. When it wasn’t fun anymore I stopped. I left my shop on Etsy Incase I want to ever sell something in the future. Wonderful show today!! Awesome job!! I did miss Liz but I understand it is a busy time of year. Love the Winterberry case!! I have never been to a retreat , so it is hard for me to justify the price. I did make a sewing case out of a traveling jewelry box from Amazon. I stitched the pink house from Blackbird Design Honeysuckle Manor. I dedicated to my Grandmother that was born in 1904. I appreciate you taking the time to share so much information. I can not wait to see what you have been working on for your Etsy shop!! I hope you both have safe travels to your retreats!! ❤

Had an idea about your 8 Jeannette Douglas stitching series. I've done 2 of them myself but want to do more; they really are sweet little pieces. You have 4 of them stitched together and thought about making little pillows with the remaining 4. I don't know how much wall space you have, but you could hang the large one and then surround that with the 4 four smaller ones. Could be 1 on each side or 2 top and bottom or 2 on each side. Could be with the same frame or a coordinating one. You certainly have an eye for design and very talented fingers. And now spinning your own threat - wow! Always enjoy your videos and seeing you work. Of course your entire home is just amazing; such beautiful antiques all over.

I was out at an antique store recently and bought an old pin cushion and the cutest fabric vintage house that was all hand stitched - made me think of you and your finds. A fat quarter bundle is so fun to use for cross stitch pillows. Love me some fall blackbirds !

I really loved your drum that you made and the stitch made with your home spun wool absolutely gorgeous. I love your funky knitted socks. Wish I knew how to knit. My mom tried teaching me when I was in my teens. I just couldn’t get it , I was always dropping stitches,so I gave up. I do know how to crochet, but knitting to me just looks more delicate and beautiful. Looking forward to the next video with you and Liz. Blackbird

I absolutely loved your quilting portion of this video. I am a fan of the same things as you, Jo Morton, Pam Buda and the reproduction fabrics. I also find EPP very relaxing. I also knit, crochet and of course cross stitch. Too many projects, not enough time.

I don't know where you found a day stretcher, but I would need 64 hours in a day to accomplish all that! Have a great trip to my home state! I love all the blackbird patterns but have never stitched one. I heard you mention Alameda, CA during your video and had to rewind it…as I lived there as a newlywed for a year and a half. I’m an Ohio girl so that was quite the adventure almost 50 years ago. Enjoy your videos so much!

Just a warning about stitching with woods - Moths LOVE eating wool. Definitely keep pieces stitched with wool under glass. I had a needlepoint piece that was unfinished and a moth got to it and ate the polar bears tail! Beautiful finishes!

Thank you so much for all of your inspiration!! I too am a wool lover and am really curious about needlepoint. I remember my Grandma's dining chairs each had a floral motif on the seat cushion that she had made. I would love to recreate that on my own chairs someday. I am a newer stitcher and have just bought my first Blackbird design- Dear Daughter of Mine. I am planning on adding my daughters initials as a memory piece. Thank you!
