I honestly love that it's not a huge grind for relics. I'm usually on and off the game, so when I used to collect relic weapons, it would take me up to a year to complete them, which is insane.

I don’t think this would fix my loneliness in game. Seeing more people in the over world wont help when everyones on discord and not talking in game.

I watch these videos on savage raiding and it seems like the whole team has to know the strats. I feel scared to go by my self because I don’t know the strats.

These new changes are so stupid it’s insane. I get people want to raid on their home dc but everyone is going to want to go to aether to raid because that’s the most populated and that’s where most of their friends are. They need to do a cross dc pf and then remove the restrictions two months after a savage tier. SE new DC travels rules are so stupid the game lies to your face saying the servers are congested when everyone whose in aether has a 1-5 person queue in all the servers in aether including peak times now they shouldn’t punish the people who wanted to transfer to dynamis. Next patch expect most raiders to just server transfer back to aether because the restrictions are ridiculous.

DDOS issues in FF14 have been pretty consistent since the launch of DT almost every single day after the server restriction thing was put in place. This has led to the increase of DDOS issues to try to open servers. I do however also think it is possible that it could not be malicious attacks but the way the restriction thing works: Aether as example is congested 20/7 almost constantly but people from other DCs can get in and be in during the little open window, while aether residents have access all the time. I believe it could be possible aether is hitting its congestion point and then far beyond what its able to handle with the new restrictions that may be causing server issues. Or it could just be people pissed about the restrictions. Either way sucks and hope SE fixes it.

I have a bad mentality of myself... I get real worried about messing it up for everyone by either not being in the right spot, or just not doing my part... Even though I want to help, I just... Get too scared...

My only issue with Hector is sometimes he does tank downtime unnecessarily. However, he usually will update a better strat and make a mini video Its PF. Most players do the worst strat. And yes, what you said, people know where to stand to clear, they never actually understand the mechanics, so ill get blamed if people die For years, on primal, i had players hate me for doing centruda in uwu, the BETTER strat, and even today, when we all do aether's centruda, these people STILL trash talk me about it, even though we do what i did 2+ years ago today I dont hate hector, i hate people's dependacy on it No, they dont need to learn many strats, that makes unnecessary prog. People need to actually learn how mechanics work

Just found this video, but it seems to me that people are blaming Hector's guides because they don't want to take personal responsibility. Having a shared expectation and easy reference to strats is only helpful. Your confusion about the complaints is well founded. People are dumb.

I don't know if I'm lucky or not but on Primal Lamia connecting from New-Brunswick I haven't had any disconnection issues from these DDoS attacks, same from a friend playing on the same server from Texas.

For me, I’ve been experiencing rotation issues, like for sage when you use your button to change your standard heal to a shield, I’ll press it and nothing happens until a couple of seconds later. It’s. It instant like it should be. But I haven’t had this issue until yesterday which is weird.

Hector saved Party Finder, and made it actually tolerable. In doing this he contributed a great deal to the level of activity in savage raiding in general. He is amazing and we appreciate his guides alot!!

If I'm doing raids and harder content I actually will heal even if my party is being morons...but if it's a dungeon and the dps ignore mechanics again and again and AGAIN! I give a warning...then if they still ignore then they're staying dead in the corner for four minutes

His strats are bad for the community because he doesn't take the time to understand the mechanics and rushes them out, he wants to be the first out and because he is, people tend to stick with them. M2 Savage is a great example of his epic failure with Alarm 1 Pheromones. Japanese and Kobe use SMART versions but PF still uses the pathetic MK strategy because "IT IS WHAT THEY ARE USED TO" and results in more deaths and problems. He literally caused the problem of people not learning the right way to do things! He didn't understand Alarm 1 Pheromones and every time I join a PF group, they don't understand them either calling them random. They are not random and his lack of understanding is the problem! He doesn't fix his guides and literally keeps promoting MK which is the BIGGEST FAIL STRAT in FFXIV!

I mean hector guides are pretty much Pastebin with a slight of alteration. If you know the other, its easier to adjust on the either. Not unless theres a 3rd or 4th guide you just heard of then everything goes haywire 😂

It's Square Enix's business partner NTT that is getting attacked. It may not even be XIV that is specifically getting targeted! If you have a VPN that allows for regional selection, route yourself to avoid whatever node has a high ping or is dropping packets. (Canada works.) You can determine your current route by pinging the NA data center lobby (e.g. Primal, Crystal, etc) from the ARR status website using tracert on a windows command prompt, and seeing which of the NTT nodes your route is linking to. The NTT San Jose one is the one that historically has issues. It will be where the ping jumps up from 80 ms to 200 ms or just drops packets entirely during a tracert.

Our static mainly uses hector but we have modified some of the strats here or there. I think it's so interesting that people don't seem to care for the strats when most of the time the strats are kind of Self Evident if you've done enough raiding. Bosses can really only do so many things to damage you or switch you up; and a lot of the time the mechanics that you see them do are just mechanics from other fights that have been tweaked and repackaged in some way or another. Like M2S Rotten Heart is just P4S Curtain Call with a different set of timers and movements. I honestly don't think Hector is the problem, before Hector guides I would often use Miztech for everything, it's not really the guide maker it's the guide watcher. I think that the fact that Savage has become a lot more accessible has created a group of players who have rigid ways of doing things either because they don't have the experience or they just don't like change. And I'll be so real I was kind of the same way before I started playing in Savage. But I've grown and gotten better not only as I've played the different tiers but as I started exploring the different roles as well.

I haven't experienced it this week on Crystal or Dynamis but I have seen people complaining about it in NN so it apparently has been happening quite a bit. This is just one of those things that is a reality and SE needs to find a way to do deal with it that is more effective long term. They can never eliminate it entirely but they can do more I believe.

I got a DDos attack but it didn't make me leave the game since I'm a live streamer even then I feel bad for most people that do have that issue. FF14 is a great game I played at least 1875 hours on FF14... I an't going to stop there since I made 4 characters that will be heading into shadow bringers or dawntrail. and my gosh I work so hard to get to that point stop playing would queue of my leaves level for crafting... better get it while it's hot I'm selling scholar or summoner weapons for 5k in my server keep an eye out for that for alchemy crafting. Dynamiss Cuchulainn.

I play on Materia and have had issues. I get kicked at least once most days. Wont stop me though. It has been frustrating at times but I have learnt to only que in dungeons from inn room as it helps me log back in faster.

The problem with the current attacks is that they do not seem to target the servers directly but rather a node in front of SE's servers if that makes sense. I haven't had any issues with DCs apart from my shitty German internet going down every now and then. This seems to be true for a lot of other players as well. Some constantly DC and suffer a lot from the DDoS while others are completely unaffected.

Sony and MS found ways to stop it, so can Square. FF14 is there biggest non-mobile cash cow and they'd be foolish to say "Uuh nothing we can do!" like the fans that defend them. If there was no way, every online game would be unplayable like this.

Personally always preferred Mizzteq's guides, the ways she she explained things just hit my brain better for some reason, and she doesn't really waste time. Hector also works, I understand him most of the time, but iunno I definitely felt his strats were silly sometimes

People need to stay tf on their DCs. Im sick and tired of seeing all these “Travelers” on my DC. I often kick them from my instances. lol.

Hector tries his best to be one of the first out which causes slight inaccuracies. Aside from that, I don't have a problem with Hector guides. The main problem is some people getting overconfident along with not realizing their own mistakes. Back in p12s someone I knew kept messing up caloric 1, they never accepted help and whenever I tried to suggest anything they always said "I've watched hector's guide so many times so I'm clear ready".

I am wondering is it's ISP related those attacks since i am from south america i never had a problem on instance even today my static group doesnt have lag or feels the ddos happening, so that makes me believe they are attacking a certain node that EU/NA go throug since i only see people from NA and EU having this trouble

I question the validity of it actually being a DDoS. SE has had a history with issues like these where they say it is something, just for users to find out it is an if statement in their queue logic kicking people. This constant issue smells like an issue on their end. (Personally I am suspicious of data center travel.)
