Rebound relationships can really complicate a person's life more than need be. Yet we live in interesting times when our dating world is moving faster and faster. Smart phones and dating apps make us date more and more, leaving us little to no time to actually process and handle the breakups we go through.
As a result, many of us are ending up in rebound relationships that are causing us to act in predictable yet disfunctional ways.
So is it a rebound or the real thing? How are you supposed to even know...?
In this video I'll give you some advice and ways to know if you're dealing with a rebound relationship or whether someone you know is going through a rebound relationship.
We'll be covering signs to look out for that may indicate a rebound relationship, and we'll also address what you can do if you find yourself in a rebound relationship and you actually want it to work out.
Rebound relationships have a very bad track record, and for good reason, but not all rebound relationships fail. Some can and do work out, so we'll also address how to make your rebound relationship work so that, like alchemists we can turn a rebound relationship into the real thing.

To me every rebound relationship is real, because you should not allow them back or worry about them coming back. Think about how bad they did you and never forget. I know it hurts, because it happened to me and I think about it still. However with how bad she did me I couldn’t even see her as a booty call.
My gf broke up with me 4 months ago. After 2 months of breakup she started dating another guy. This is the 4th time she has gone to a relationship and swiftly too. She used to say all the mean things about her exes when I was with her. Then I realized she is now saying all the mean things about me to her new boyfriend too. After watching this video I realized that she never got the reflection she wanted to get over a breakup. She never gave time to heal up the wounds. That's why she used to seek and expect so many things from me and when she found that she is not getting it, she immediately starts complaining about me to everyone. At the end of the day, no relationship is perfect. It takes a lot of patience and hard work to maintain a relationship. Rebound is not the solution. Patience is!

I got 3 signs of rebound relationship of my ex.
The displacement, she’s dating similar to my profession and the fifth which is she parade him to social media 2 weeks before we got separated. So its 60-70% its likely to be a rebound. But i want her back. I know i did things to make her self pity, took her for granted most of the times but i only did that because of my work, anxiety and sometimes arguements. I shouldve been there for her when she needed me the most. Hope things will be better soon. I still love her and missed her so much. 😢
I think mine is because she wanted the new man to be somewhat similar to me. That's often a big sign. Plus, there was basically so little time between us and him. I know she still cares about me a lot. I think it bothers her ex, but I may date someone in a few weeks.

Hi Clay me and mine have been together for 3 years and 1 year married so 4 years altogether, she broke up with me in the first week in January and told me she wouldn't be able to find another person like me. I am not sure if I was in a rebound relationship or not. I met a guy around 6 months ago and I found out he was on break with his ex girlfriend. I didn't know that until one month being with them. Hi Yabuzz, Any chance will always be there, but it will depend on the actions that you both will take and refuse to do to make the relationship work. we will only lose that change if we have fully throw in the towel for good.

That is truly okay, Rebecca. Sometimes to be emotionally available, we have to rebuild our self-love to gain our level of confidence and self-esteem. :-) It is healthy to be single for a while until you are fully ready to open yourself to the possibility of being in a new relationship.

Hi Emily, Maybe the best question to ask here is if he had moved on 100% from his ex. If yes, he may be rebounding especially if the reason for going back with the other person is out of guilt.

On October 31st he admitted to cheating. Then it gotten to the point to where he had to choose. He chose her over me and us with her. He broke up with me in November and got together with her days later around that time. They have now been together for 4 months however I'm pregnant and it's by another dude. When I told my ex he says he wants to be involved since my child's father decided to not be there. While he is in this relationship with the girl he cheated on me with, everyday my ex constantly calls to check up on me and my unborn child. Does my ex want me back? Does he feel guilty? And does he have some sort of feelings for me? My ex and his rebound lives in the exact same neighborhood. Not only that but she no longer wants to have intercourse with him anymore. And yet they're trying to figure out if they're going to last or not.

But he vaguely told me what he has been up to and did not mention the other girl. He said he wanted to hear my voice and I see it as a mixed message. He doesn’t go into how he’s doing with dating. It doesn't mean that we are comfortable sharing information about our dating life, it will go the same for the. Others would rather keep things in private and for themselves. My ex broke up with me 2 months ago after 4 years, saying that he still loved me, that he wanted to be alone, that he may be making a mistake. He added it wasn't for other girls. And he's now sort of dating another girl but I can't figure out if it's a rebond or if it's a real relationship starting.
I'm 26, he's 27 and this girl is 16. They started talking during the last month of our relationship and he never said he had a girlfriend, saying that his profil picture and the status on facebook was enough. So he didn't talk about me until the break up, only mentioning it (those words). When he talked to me about this girl, he insisted on the fact that she's not jealous at all and absolutely don't care about our relationship (I was madly jealous). Then he said that her mom really appreciate him (he never met mine and that was one of the causes of our arguments). But he also told me that they don't get to see often, mostly talking and flirting by messages. They seems to laugh a lot, tagging themselves on funny post like we used to do. Plus, the girl looks like a younger me.
Another detail (is it one?) : we used to watch a lot of films at night and he told me two weeks ago that he sometimes thinks about it.

Let's say she and her ex-husband had a history and she may feel comfortable being with him. When it comes to chances of getting back together, it would really depend on the changes that you will bring to the "new" dynamics of the relationship and the work/commitment that you are willing to put into it.
My ex and I have been on/off for a year. During our off season he got into a relationship with another girl from our church group on January. Now he is bringing her to church every sunday. It hurts seeing him with her. I've done no contact since February.

My ex caught me cheating and gave me a couple chances and realized I would keep doing it. So after 3 weeks she met some guy and they hit it off and she broke up with me , I didn’t know until she blocked me online and had a picture posted of him 😂 but it’s weird because we had sex a couple weeks ago and had phone sex last week, but she’s posting this guy like she’s been with him for sometime. So my ex and I were together 9 years we broke up in mid November last year by December he had moved in with new girlfriend Fully moved in, she also just came out of a relationship at the end of November beginning of December.. there saying I love you and are acting as if they have been together for years, talking about marriage and kids already.. she is the complete opposite of me. At what point does it no longer become a rebound is there a time limit or does it have to wait until they deal with there emotions??
In order for a rebound relationship to "work" the two people involved need to address their emotions from the past and learn how to appreciate each other for who they actually are (rather than who they are not or for the fantasy of "being in a relationship"). This can be difficult since you are discovering who someone is and working through emotional issues after the relationship is already resembling a relationship with a higher level of commitment, which is why rebound relationships have such a poor track record. But if a couple can successfully do this, then the relationship stops being a "rebound" and becomes a relationship with a more normal dynamic.

Except we dated for 4 months and talked about marriage because he’s in the army and is going on deployment soon. 2 weeks after the break up he texts me and says he’s getting married that day. If you cheated on her, you have to let her go and experience the new relationship in its entirety. As much as it kills you, consider it your sentence for cheating on her. The possible question to ask is whether your ex had 100% fully moved on from your relationship and have opened himself totally to the new relationship. That will define if his new relationship is truly serious or just a rebound relationship.

Clay Andrews she’s already broken up with him and blocked him on social media. And she’s been talking to me a lot and made plans with me for when lockdown ends. On top of that we’ve had movie nights online too. I’m guessing it was a rebound. We broke up due to long distance and she had home issues that I don’t want to divulge here. That’s so crazy!!! The new wife is so similar to me it creeped me out when she wanted to be friends and everything. She’s younger which I don’t care about cuz I look younger than my age but other than that she has so much in common with me it’s weird. Also he tried for 3 months ,while being with her and her getting pregnant, to hook up with me. So my ex and I broke up almost two months ago bc he said I was controlling which I wasn’t but maybe in his eyes I was and we shared friends and after the split a “friend” that was in the group said I was controlling saying I didn’t let him hang out with his friends but that is not true. I was neglected as a child my mom never gave me attention or love so it made me feel unloved so when my ex would hang out with friends I would get bummed out bc when I would text my “friends” they wouldn’t answer and if they did it would e like a half and hour later. Well anyways I would also have mood swings very often bc of my hormones not being leveled out and my ex and I didn’t know that was what it was until my stepmom pointed it out after the split. Also my ex has really bad anxiety and would throw up and cry bc of it but it never was disrespectful towards him and I always told him I’m not going anywhere and I comforted him when he would get anxiety also in the relationship he only came to my house twice and we were together for nine months bc the first time he ever came to my house he threw up and the other time I asked him if he wanted to come inside for a bit when he dropped me off food he threw up but I was there for him asking if he needed anything. We would get into silly little disagreements bc of my mood swings but at the end of the day we were fine. My ex would always ask for my advice on getting help for his anxiety but would never do it and it did get upsetting at times bc I didn’t wanna see him suffer and he would cry bc he was scared of getting help and I was there for him to calm him and tell him that everything would be okay and that I would be there every step of the way. He now has a new girlfriend who is best friend with one of the girls in the group I was in and idk if i should go up to him and try to talk to him without bringing up the girl. I haven’t talked to him in 3 weeks and I am blocked on everything bc of my reaction after the split. I now know how I was and I am getting help for my mood swings. It sounds like you have BPD.
I’m pretty sure my ex had BPD as well and it sounds a lot like what she was like.
She had really bad mood swings, like explosive anger and then constant sobbing. And she was very controlling of me, like thinking I was always cheating on her when I was around girls. She’d get mad when I didn’t text back fast enough and I had been around people that noticed this and they started calling her “crazy.”
She had been emotionally abused and neglected her whole life by her mom and it’d even happen in front of me when we would be over at her parents house. This type of abuse from a narcissistic parent can trigger BPD, which is the fear of abandonment, fear of loneliness, fear of rejection from someone you love, emotional unstableness (like wild moodswings), suicidal thoughts, dissociativeness (blacking out during swings), and always being insecure or seeking validation.
BPD can ruin relationships because they often get very clingy and the explosive anger problems is extreme emotional abuse (she would put me down or get mad at me when I’d help cook, but then 5 mins later she LOVED how it tasted and says she loves cooking with me, so the mood swing was hard to deal with). It was the sole reason I was breaking up with her all the time. The final breakup happened and she found someone within a week, which is fine because I put her through a lot and she put me through a lot, but it’s obviously a rebound and she hasn’t gotten help for her issues, so it’ll just persist in this new relationship.
I think If you’re really concerned you should seek help because what you explained sounds like BPD, or could be something else. As for your relationship, reaching out and having someone who is there for you to help you with your problems will make things a lot easier. But you also need to learn to love yourself and heal first!

im 37 and my ex is 35 and we was in a 11 year relationship. we spilt up a 1 1\2 ago when i left our home but in that time we was sleeping together and getting on very well. we also have a 5yo son. before we split up she got a new social life with a bunch of single mothers that we already knew but would be good for her and our son to have little friends! so a 1 1\2 go by being spilt up but seeing each other and getting on well. the last time we slept together was the 12th of dec and on the 16th she said we need to stop and went cold! my world turned up side and it was the first time i realised id lost everything! anyway 2 weeks go by and i got it out of her that she's talking to someone else! ive truly seen my errors and can see hers but she's not interested because of the new stuff she's feeling even tho at this point she's probably only meet him once, she's really isn't the type of girl to be sleeping around that's why i fear she's really looking at the new guy as a serious mate! i think she's a FEARFUL AVOIDANT! she's turned so cold she's unrecognisable. since that time ive worked on myself by hitting the gym and actually feel loads better apart from this nightmare im living in! what's my chances of getting her back?
