  • Welcome back everyone! In this video, Bob is replacing the IWE Check Valve Assembly that causes issues in a lot of F-150's and other Ford vehicles in his 2013 F150 STX. This guide will be similar to all F-150's (and other Ford vehicles like the Expedition and Lincoln Navigator) ranging from 2004 to 2020. Overall the process will be very similar. Thanks for watching and let us know in the comments what you think!

Good stuff. I seem to have made all the same mistakes from the check valve and lines all the way down to the IWE 😂. I haven’t had to do the passenger side IWE yet - but everything down to it is brand new.

That's good man. The more you replace, the better since these seem to fail very often.

Didn’t fix the problem for me but easy enough to replace

Have you replaced the IWE's themselves? Those are notorious for failing.

@@TrickShiftGarage that’s what it’s looking like. I just tested the solenoid with a vacuum gauge and it seems fine. The noise completely stops when I go in 4WD.

Yea that's how mine was. After replacing them, the noise was gone. Let me know how it goes bro!

So what was it doing when broken? Was it making noises in the wheels?

There was intermittent grinding/scraping noises coming from the front end. It went away when I put the truck in 4WD, and since I had already replaced the IWE's, I knew it had to be the check valve or the solenoid.
