Having grown up in a neighborhood known as a dumping sight for mentally ill people, I've come to realize that for as much as one can feel bad and want to help people in severe situations, you can only do so much, you don't know who's going to be violent or when they are gonna snap, for as much as I wanted to say "hey just help them" it's not that simple, you can't just throw money and shelters at the problem and call it a day

You are right, more than money you have to give time. And im not Christ-like enough to be out there everyday helping the modern lepers.
And those who do help, man it must be depressing as hell, for real. A serious threat to your mental health. Sadly lost causes actually are a thing. Act as if not so but only to a point. So unless it is a severe situation, you really shouldn't step in because you will probably just escalate the situation further.
I tried to do something similar and ended up getting a gun pulled on me. So. Yea.

And it does go beyond Mental Health. This guy clearly has a cognitive disorder and a social development disorder. And that's not due to poor mental health, that's due to literal *physical differences* between his brain and the neurotypical brain. I'm speaking about this as someone who is both autistic and has ADD. Mental health services such as therapy and medication can only do so much for these types of disorders.
Even if we had Universal Health Care, it's no guarantee that this guy wouldn't be out there harming people or himself. Countries with universal healthcare still also have severely ill homeless people. Take a visit to Canada or the UK if you don't belive me.

I'm sick of "bringing awareness" to things. We have been "bringing awareness" to so much shit for so long. It seems like "bringing awareness" doesn't do anything. How about this, we are aware of this. Let's bring some action to our problems instead of awareness. "Bringing awareness" is like writing a to-do list and then getting high and watching sponge bob. Unless that was on your to-do list, you have accomplished fuck all.

    • @JustMe88419
      @JustMe88419 9 місяців тому +1

@@GodbreadGilfredBiago I completely agree with your frustration. Action is 100% required in addressing these issues. A lot of people don't help in the fight against these issues. That is ultimately what "raising awareness" helps to combat. These issues are incredibly complex, and that is why those like myself work towards getting new legislation passed regarding subsidized housing, making sure those that are struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues have the resources available to get treatment (even if they won't use these resources), or to simply make sure everyone has food or blankets so they don't freeze to death in the woods. This is just the tip of the iceberg but something that everyone can do is either donate to their local non-profit or volunteer their time to help in the cause. "Raising awareness" could mean the difference in educating someone on the severity of the issue, which may lead them to researching how they can help and they could end up volunteering at a soup kitchen or a local shelter which so many of these facilities are short handed and depend greatly on volunteer work. I volunteer in my free time and donate directly from each paycheck, but I have a fairly close understanding of the problem and not everyone does. I totally agree though, more people should act.

I work at a public library in the "bad" side of a city, and this really is what it's like to deal with some people. Most of our unhoused patrons are fine and kind people just suffering from a bad situation, but there are cases of people who are clearly incredibly ill and need help they can't get and sometimes don't even realize they need. More needs to be done to help with poverty and homelessness. It will improve everyone's lives.

3:53 People who use stimulants like methamphetamine and cocaine can develop "stimulant psychosis" during a long lasting session. Stimulants deplete dopamine, and sleep deprive the user, which produces an erratic psychotic state that will get much worse if the person continue to administer stimulants. If he isnt always like this, but every few days he is then i think its likely.
Otherwise, it would either be schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, or bipolar type 1 (manic episode/mixed episode), very much looks like the first or last to me as he has a combination of psychotic and elevated mood symptoms.

@@n0m4nic I really think the fact that I typed this in a UA-cam comment should be enough of a warning without me having to say "I am not a clinician". I am however studying pharmacy, and both of my parents ARE clinical psychologists. I read primary literature on topics that do interest me , and yes I feel perfectly fine with discussing it on the Internet so long as it is very clear that I am speculating. I really do not see measurable harm from discussing clinical psychology in a way like this where it clear that I am speculating. The iffiest thing I said was "would" instead of "could" for the three conditions I listed, which I'll change to make it extra clear I am speculating.
Respectully, is the theory you put forward really something you believe is plausible here? Faking insanity is a real thing, but I have never heard of someone faking their insanity months out in advance before committing the crimes. If this were some genius scheme to get away with violent acts by acquitted due to insanity, why is he also recording the violent acts he wants to get away with? The idea of someone struggling with substances, severe mental illness, or a combination of factors like these is much more plausible to me than this. You're talking as if he is a serial killer with such immense bloodlust that he devises an elaborate plan to be able to harm as many people as possible with no legal consequence??? Strikes me that if the way I was speculating is harmful, the way you are certainly is too. Personally, I think genuine speculation is fine so long as it doesn't cross the line into advice.

He doesn’t seem bipolar at all to me outside of the frequent uploads. He doesn’t have a constant or escalating agitative state. When he gets provoked it doesn’t send him up to 11 and he’s able to maintain more calm and obedient around the police.
His pupils have a normal size anytime we see him so I don’t believe he’s on illegal stimulants. His skin and general complexion don’t point to it either.
It’s possible he might be dealing with the effects of drugs in utero. He clearly has some verbal things going on which can stem from all of the above.
Whether he accuses to pick fights or has paranoid delusions is impossible to tell from videos on youtube. All we can know for sure is that he’s not equipped to walk free. He needs serious psychiatric help on top of the living situation.

    • @fink7968

@@cats1970 I don't think we see his pupils adjust to light at any point in this videos so it's hard to say without knowing what his baseline is. I don't consider stimulant psychosis a super likely explanation though. regardless, if he was very far into a session the pupils wouldn't necessarily be dilated, as his blood pressure and dopamine levels would be plummetting and he would be dosing in order to maintain. BD1 I have personal experience with (I responded to treatment very well, so really haven't had a huge impact on my life besides financial and relationship problems during the time when I was untreated.)
Flight of ideas and strained speech, as well as extreme impulsivity were what lead me to suggest it. Something to note about BD is that it damages the brain when left untreated, so illness that has been ignored for years looks MARKEDLY different. Notably, psychotic symptoms get progressively worse, cycling rate increases, and the frequency of rapid cycling or "mixed episodes" (the most dangerous state for someone with BD) increases.
To be clear though, I primarily just named the three largest disorders capable of producing psychosis. Obviously in practice it will be a ton of factors but I think it's reasonable to assume a psychotic disorder or substance problem is a fairly large underlying cause.

Are you sure he's saying cat/kitty and not kid/kiddy. He sorta makes that "ay" sound that could easily be either an A or an I that made me confused too, but if you listen when he talks to the police it could be "kid" that he's trying to say:
    Guy:"There's a kid over there and he's cad-crazy, there's a crazy kid over there!"
Cop:"A cat? What do you mean like an actual cat or anot.."
Guy:"No," *tries to pronounce it more clearly* "there's a cazy kid over there!"
    cop:"Like an animal?"
Guy:"Nuh-yes, there's an animal, no not no animal there's a kid. There's a little kid and he's crazy."
I do hear how it could be either, and it doesn't make that much of a difference, but it does sorta seem like he's trying to blame this on a kid (whether a child or a teen is unclear though). refering to someone as a "kid" can be seen as disrespectful, and there might be something important to the phrase "Bad kid" and "Crazy kid" for someone who lives with apparent mental disorders. On the other meowing does suggest he's calling people cat/kitty, and could be linked to refering to someone as a "pussy."
Though I don't know, it's hard to decipher madness.
