He also claimed the guy exposed himself to a cops wife, nothing happened. That would NOT fly with the police department. Complete bull.
This is true horror, it’s not paranormal or an urban legend or unexplained, it’s real. This is happening in real life to someone who is stuck in a position where he can’t do anything.
Growing up I had awful neighbours, and ye u just feel like you can’t do anything until they get caught doing something. In my case the guy got caught abusing his kids and got arrested, then the rest of the family had to move.
When I lived in a different place as a child in the 90's there used to be this guy next door who would yell and talk to himself. He wasn't creepy or hurting anyone. He was just always alone yelling at the voices in his head or something. You'd think he was on the phone, but according to my mom that wasn't the case. She might have tried to call him while he was yelling to see if she could get through the line. So I guess that confirmed he wasn't talking to an actual person, or anything else living... I don't think there's a single person who hasn't had a weird neighbor. Right now I have this woman who has been having random house parties from 11PM to 4AM for 10 years. I hate her. lol
If she's making a lot of noise that late at night, she's likely violating a residential noise ordinance. Have you ever called the police on her? I had the same issue with some college kids who lived in the apartment unit above me a few hears back. Once or twice a week, they'd invite a bunch of friends over and party from around 11PM at night to 6AM. They'd blast loud music, and it sounded like they were playing football with the constant thunderous rumbling through the ceiling. Even wearing NRR 33 DB earplugs, the noise was still loud enough to keep me from sleeping. What's worse, this was occurring while I was taking care of my terminally ill grandmother. (She was in such a deteriorated state, though, I don't think the noise affected her too much.) After several weeks of screaming my lungs out at them up the hallway stairs (my first visit to them politely asking them to stop didn't work), they finally quieted down. They eventually moved away and then a noisy woman who frequently looked after her bunch of noisier grandchildren moved in...
Having a terrible neighbor is awful. I’m lucky to have only had it happen a couple times but, never for THAT long. Damn. It makes you always paranoid and worried about what they are planning and what they are capable of doing next. I hope Jeff is well and the neighbor stops this craziness or leaves.
Having this kind of neighbours is so frustrating, I wish the best to Jeff and his family, as always I'm impressed by the effort you put in your content.
Shoutout to Jeff for still interviewing for this after having to deal with this neighbors shenanigans for so long, seems like a real cool guy. Another great video, great investigating as always!
This is a really in depth presentation, you deserve major kudos for this. Back when legacy media actually did investigative journalism, you could have made a name for yourself in the journalism field. Oh, well, their loss is our gain. Stay safe.
Must be crazy having a neighbor like this. Worse ive dealt with is a front neighbor being a snoop and very protective of her property(she would question anyone that parks near her house). The dedication in these videos make it such a great watch, love them!
Jeff's comment about his neighbor being disabled got me thinking, and this actually reminds me of someone my family lived with when I was in middle school. There was a set of brothers who lost their mom, and they were adults, but there was definitely some disability/neurodivergence in both of them; the pastor at my dad's church asked if he'd consider moving us into the house to support them until other arrangements could be made, and my dad, who was looking to move anyway, obliged. The kids on that street we're super friendly, but they told us weird stories about the two. One brother they called "The Midnight Gardener" because he was *always* out in the yard in the middle of the night. The rumor was he was burying bodies, but of course that was just kid-nonsense; I barely remember ever seeing him though, even though he never left the house, and we lived with them for nearly two years. The other brother was more social, but also more disabled, so we didn't really talk, but I had a decent impression of him. The kids in the neighborhood said he was "weird", but were never more specific, so I figure it was just how they perceived his neurodivergence. Anyway, great works as always, Eric! Always impressed with the level of research you bring to the table.
Your investigative skills are something else. Don't know how you manage to get in contact with so many people but however you do it keep up the good work!
This guy reminds me of my former roommate. Guy was an alcoholic and later on I found out he was arrested for SA. The dude had ruined his life with DUIs and that other charge so he just sat at home literally staring at the wall, drinking. No gf, no licence to drive, couldn't afford anything, ran a failed moving business out of the home, rarely showered, chain smoked, would get naked and just fall asleep on the couch, and towards the end he'd even leave mountains of dishes and trash in his area, the epitome of a middle aged loser. Eventually he got so unhappy with life that he became antagonistic towards me for no reason. It was random, I was never sure if I was coming home to a down on his luck roommate or someone actively trying to start trouble. He'd dead stare me and purposely do things at night just to tick me off. I didn't do a thing to this guy but because I was there I was the target of his frustrations. He would always just do weird things like this guy. I even filed an injunction at one point, police were called, it got crazy in the last few months I was there.
@@thedesensitizedsympathizer5307 You say that as if I never tried... How bout you go live with him, put up with the abuse, the gross apartment conditions, whilst maintaining a full time job and a part time job to afford the basics, coming home not sure if you're going to be screamed at or disgusted and see just how much you can help him since he won't help himself.
@@thedesensitizedsympathizer5307 I've put up with people like that for decades, kid. Trust me, if they're not willing to help themselves, it's not going to do anything beyond sacrifice your sanity. If you want to live that way, have at it, but there's a line.
It always amazes me that you go above and beyond for these videos! Watching for years now and every video is setup so good that they could be considered masterpieces
It's ridiculous that even with all these videos the local police still refuse to do anything because this isn't enough 'evidence' for them to actually get off their ass and do their job. If the neighbor doesn't get arrested then Mr. Richards needs to file a restraining order or something before things get worse.
Sadly, restraining orders can make volatile people more hostile; plenty of DV victims can attest. I think, at this point, the neighbor isn't actually breaking the law by being weird in his own yard, and that's why there's nothing for the cops to do. If he was coming over the fence, throwing things into Jeff's yard, pointing his gun over the fence at the house, making a ton of noise, etc., then they'd have probable cause to further investigate... but he's just existing out there, in the middle of the night, flipping off a security camera, doing weird shit on his own property.
People are more on their own in these situations than they realize. Typically, police won't take any sort of actual action until after a serious crime is committed. (Of course, if the neighbor was black, they probably would have shot him...)
Also, the guy is staying on his own property. It's not like he's climbing the fence, making a lot of noise, or even throwing anything over it. It's suspicious af, but it's not illegal to stand in your own yard at 3am and make faces at your neighbor's camera.
@@dreamlandnightmare Yes, but that was before the cameras were installed. As long as he's just wandering around in his own yard, they can't do anything. If he heists something and the cameras catch it, then they can. It's that whole innocent until proven guilty thing.

While there's definitely some exceptions, a lot of your investigations are on videos that people would encounter, think "huh, that's creepy" and then click away. Honestly, big ups to Jeff. I can imagine it's difficult to live near such a person but he seems very level-headed about it all. He doesn't seem to have much if any animosity towards the guy and, tbh, it made my heart warm to hear him say that the guy is an alcoholic and probably has mental issues and conceded that he's likely dealing with issues himself but also not letting it excuse the fact that he's an inappropriate creep.
I remember having a guy trying to force me to date him and had this intense irrational fear he was following me and knew where I lived. Luckily he didn't and it took me a while to be out on my own. I can't imagine having someone actually stalking me. Whenever I go home, I check my surroundings and the hidden corner where my storage unit is. That is how much I feared him. Hope Jeff stays safe and vigilant.
Unfortunately, unless he actually does something illegal on camera, it appears there's nothing that can be done about it. However, in my opinion, when taking his prior threats and reported lude behavior into account, there's enough evidence to at least warrant the police having a chat with him and telling him that, while there's no evidence of any illegal wrongdoing at this point, for the mere sake of decency, it would probably be in his best interest to stop creeping around his neighbor's fence behaving suspiciously in the middle of the night. Who knows? That alone might be enough to deter him.
I used to live in a building where we had a family that were just plain... awful. the wife seemed to be crazy and the husband was at the very least an enabler to her behaviour but was no saint either. they still live there, I was the one who moved out (completely unrelated, btw). it goes to show that just living next to someone is a gamble, and it doesn't matter how long you live next to them, if they started out crazy, they'll stay crazy if they want to

Props to Jeff for not letting this guy intimidate him and not backing down. Lots of drugs cause the same psychosis. Acid abuse in the 60s, speed in the 70s, coke in the 80s, these drugs have gotten weaker over the decades and don't cause the same psychosis now but every generation has its 'meth'
Love the interview! It's so much better than channels just fear-mongering about real life situations without ever making contact with the victims IMO. I am curious, you said that he could refuse to answer any questions, and I know personally I would've asked more! Although some of the questions I have could be more identifying, so he might've not wanted them aired. I'd want to know if anyone else lives with the stalker, if Jeff has ever spoken to his family. I'd want to know if Jeff has any ideas about what the neighbor might be doing at night. If it's just to intimidate Jeff, or what, since it seems kinda pointless. Lastly, although Jeff mentions some other more perv related incidents, I'd wonder if any of Jeff's other neighbors have experienced the lurking specifically, since it doesn't map on neatly to his other behaviors.
It’s really disturbing how perverts and creeps can just live among us and never face consequences
Why is it so Taboo to be a pervert nowadays? Not all of us actually want to physically assalt people.
Calling someone a pervert or creep implies that you share your kinks with an unwilling audience. That's the issue.

You are so respectful, Scare. Honestly your videos are so nostalgic and your quality hasn’t diminished in the slightest. Glad im subbed 💙
You aren't afraid of being alone in the dark, you are afraid you are not alone.

Thank you!
Dude, my respects for being able to investigate these events.
The wy you are able to talk to people is simply motivating.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I even filed an injunction at one point, police were called, it got crazy in the last few months I was there.
why didn,xt you ever offer to help him?
@@thedesensitizedsympathizer5307 You say that as if I never tried...
How bout you go live with him, put up with the abuse, the gross apartment conditions, whilst maintaining a full time job and a part time job to afford the basics, coming home not sure if you're going to be screamed at or disgusted and see just how much you can help him since he won't help himself.

It always amazes me that you go above and beyond for these videos! Watching for years now and every video is setup so good that they could be considered masterpieces
This is amazing, kudos to you Scaretheater for chasing answers. That's some good debunking and detective work. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@vectorwolf He also flooded the neighbors' yard and took things from them.
@@dreamlandnightmare Yes, but that was before the cameras were installed. As long as he's just wandering around in his own yard, they can't do anything. If he heists something and the cameras catch it, then they can. It's that whole innocent until proven guilty thing.

I'm a bit enchanted about the levels of effort you go into for videos that most people probably wouldn't give much prolonged thought about. While there's definitely some exceptions, a lot of your investigations are on videos that people would encounter, think "huh, that's creepy" and then click away. But you see it as a puzzle that needs solving, and you put so so much work into it even though you can never be really sure if it will generate much attention. I think that speaks a lot about you as a creator and as a person, and the kind of dedication you live by. It's impressive.

Love your videos man. I was living overseas for awhile and i binged all of your videos in like a month
What a creep 😭 side note you are one of the best in this genre on UA-cam, to be able to get an interview was crazy! Keep it up !
Getting an interview with Jeff is the most impressive thing about this video, him doing an interview with you is really cool, jeff d goat

Whenever I see a headlamp and this kinda behavior I immediately think severe psychosis or methamphetamine is involved. Leaning more towards psychosis since meth hasn't been readily available that long ago when this started. That said it's classic stimulant induced psychosis behavior.

I mean, surely this neighbor has another house or something on the other side of his yard?
