That got to me too. Like listen I'm not sensitive by any means, and in my current situation this could never happen to me, but imagining the anger, sadness, and pure intention of getting some kid help who has clearly been hurt by the people who are supposed to be the most loving kinda felt like a gut punch. I'm glad I haven't been in this situation because I might very well fly off the handle. "Oh, your parents are evil? Let's cull the evil from this land" type shit. No I'm not a violent person but everyone has something that will change them, and seeing some victim begging for help when their family neglected their needs (not out of being poor but out of malice) would make me want to become the justice we all think we deserve. All failures would be sewn in flesh. Maybe scarification of their sins on their forehead so they are seen as demons by anyone with a heart.
God maybe I watch too much TV. A quote from attack on Titan is fitting here. "To defeat the monsters, we must let go of our humanity and fight on their terms". I don't advocate for street justice but I certainly won't be upset if all abusers were literally forced out of society. I would feel no pity until they could prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that they have permanently changed for the better, which is nigh impossible for anyone who harms kids. At least if you commit crimes against adults, there is the possibility that they can defend themselves

I started crying around the same time as well. Keep in mind, I've been abused by my parents growing up so I know how it feels and hearing the conditions of that boy made me imagine something that happened similarly to me as well. I really wish there was something I could do to help these kids as a survivor of abuse myself..

@@dimitrilitovsk2372something to take solice in is that most abusers are like, deeply miserable people by nature. Being toxic is a two way street, they poison other people but that poison comes from within them, which is an unhappy way to live for themselves as well as their victims. I do not envy having to live in the mind of someone who thinks starvation or tying children up with duct tape is appropriate punishment; or who tries to monetize every moment of their life by sharing private family moments on the internet; or who feels so petty and vindictive that they taunt their unfed children. They either find pleasure in the suffering of their own children, which is unfortunate for them too because it means they don't understand what a healthy family relationship is like, or they think that their methods are justified, which means they must feel constantly unsatisfied with their children and that feeling would also probably suck. The self fulfilling prophecy is that the world of an abuser is a miserable place where if they can't be happy, no one can. Lose/lose situation all around.

This is straight up child abuse. It reminds me of DaddyOFive who also abused his children. The saddest part about this is that now these children may grow up thinking that this is acceptable parenting. His lawyer was deliberate with saying the father wasn't involved with any "physical" abuse. If the court rules "physical" abuse as requiring direct contact, and treated withholding food or forcing the children to sleep on the floor as "negligence," then the lawyer wouldn't be lying about it from a legal standpoint. The lawyer didn't even say the father was anything _close_ to innocent, rather that he was simply not complicit in "physical" abuse. (Again, in the eyes of the court.)
It honestly feels like even the lawyer is disgusted with the father and has a massive burden on his shoulders defending him, but won't dismiss him as a client or break confidentiality because he doesn't want to be disbarred and be unable to help people that actually may _not_ be guilty of ANY crimes.

They will interview children in front of their parents even if the allegations of abuse include the parents being the perpetrators.
If parents withhold food but there is food in the home the manner in which cps might handle it is simply finger wagging at the parents to feed the kids and the case being unfounded as they move on. If the family appears middle class or of higher class, it is even less likely they will be scrutinized, white families even less so. On top of that, when the parents are aware of what they've actually done to the heads of the older children in particular, they'd probably be wetting their pants at the thought of what harm an older teenager(read as: a raging ball of hormones) could potentially inflict if they're set off bad enough, after so many years of all this.

As a female who grew up with an eating disorder, I can tell you that my mother denying me a meal would have only encouraged my disease. And I know that girls are not the only ones who deal with EDs, it affects boys as well, but I don't think I know a woman who hasn't done something like skip a meal or use a diuretic or laxative to "lose a quick few" at some point in their lives. It's an epidemic and we don't talk about it enough.
I'm not a mom, I can't have kids, but I know enough to say that using denial of food as a punishment is extremely dangerous. It's one thing if the kid is picky and won't eat what you cooked. Then you can say, "You eat this, or you don't get anything." (Although I feel like, even in those situations, parents will at least offer their child a healthy alternative, like some fruit, so that they don't go to bed hungry. Starving a child is a form of child abuse.) You need to be cognizant of what methods you're using to discipline your children. Even before the arrest, the "8 Passengers" channel was a really great example of what NOT to do!

    • @dimitrilitovsk2372
      @dimitrilitovsk2372 Рік тому +1

Agreed. Discipline and malicious harm are two different things. Discipline isn't fun but it's necessary. Malicious harm is evil, in pure form. I'm not religious but if God or Satan exist, Satan is the people who harm kids for "discipline". Like yeah sometimes I didn't like to eat what my mom made, but after she made it two or three times and I didn't eat it, she would make me a cup ramen or Mac and cheese instead of the planned dinner.
Granted no parents are perfect, but there's a fine line between a shitty home situation and shitty parents. In a shitty home you still get love. With shitty parents you get trauma, assuming you get out of it fine enough to function in society.
It's so sad. I don't have any words other than I hope the kids can get the help that they deserve, and that the people who abused them get what they deserve too, unfortunately even if the abusers have broken glass in their feet for the rest of their lives, it won't undo the harm they caused 😢

If a potential/known predator is a means of concern, especially a victim amongst a group of victims, the kids wouldn’t be able to stay together if that was the case. They wouldn’t allowed to be in a care facility or a foster home together at all, minimizing their contact. Aka, she’s further breaking down these children. You do realize that millions of older siblings pull these sorts of "pranks"- and much worse- on their younger siblings all over the world and with a variety of parents mright? Acting like this is some new or extraordinary behavior that is the result of these specific parents is ignorant- kids have been doing crap like this since the beginning of time and for no other reason than they think it's "fun" to torment their younger siblings. Is it cruel and they should be punished? Absolutely. But is it relatively normal behavior? Yes. It absolutely is. There's some kid somewhere right this second doing something to torment one of their younger siblings- hiding their favorite stuffed animal or telling them they were adopted or telling them that if they get out of bed after 10 pm the boogeyman will eat them or simply that their parents don't actually like them or something else equally as horrible.

Honest question, because I didn't catch any ages except the youngest daughter, and one being out of the house and in college. If the siblings were, say, four years apart, and the older one was, say, eight at the time, with the younger being four, that would sound like a pretty normal and relatively harmless prank. If they're ten years apart, though, with the older being, say, 14 at the time of the incident and the younger being four, this is a different ballgame.

I have lived in Utah for my entire life. The faux righteous and wholesome behavior is common here. There are very few people who are authentic living here, I have seen mothers like Ruby Franky but luckily they weren't full on abusive.

Shocked at how long this was going on before something actually happened to get these kids out of that abusive household. Even with those videos it shows that these kids were mistreated by their parents. I hope all victims involved are doing well and healing from this traumatic experience.

A lot of what she did is not okay. I can't imagine letting a child, at any age, go hungry as "a consequence" for forgetting their lunch. Or taking away their room for MONTHS. Food and basic necessities should not be used as punishment.

@@vanessar.6085 Yeah, no, nothing she did was ok, it was just super upsetting to see that little girl cry like that on account of her own mother. I wouldn't want to see any more of their reactions to any of the horrific torture she put those kids through. It was also heartbreaking to hear the neighbor's voice, who called 911. He was dead monotone, then you could hear him start to break in the middle of the call, some sad s***.

Her behaviour is just weird. Caring parents understand that embarrassing things happen but they comfort their children and tell them it's nothing to be ashamed of.
Also, regarding the messages being read, I've never felt more uncomfortable on somebody else's behalf. I knew someone at school who was outed because someone took his phone. He had to put up with bullying for months and that was bad enough. I can't imagine a million people on the Internet knowing my secrets or embarrassing moments

I remember my brother went on a very brief family vlogger special interest, so they were playing around the house a lot. I had issues with the concept, even the "happy" ones like Daily Bumps and Ellie and Jared- but when I started having a REAL issue was when he was watching DaddyoFive. I always thought they were the worst of the worst, but I should have known: it ALWAYS gets worse. These sick, disgusting pissstains disguising themselves as "people" find platforms and enjoyment to torture and abuse their own children and get clout from it.
But, they thing that they don't understand is that they will ALWAYS get their just deserts for it. It's just not sustainable, they will ALWAYS get caught, they will ALWAYS face consequences, and if they haven't yet, it's our job to MAKE it happen, and make these situations right.

I hope that the kids are somewhere safe now.

There are numerous cases of girls being abused, neglected, raped and murdered by their parents/stepparents and nobody ever helped them either. Don't make it a gender issue. You're better than that. Boys AND girls need better care and protection from abusers.

This reminds me of a case I saw, where the parents belonged to an offshoot church that really preached ‘not sparing the rod.’ One of their sons also lost his bedroom and was made to sleep in like a closet in the basement. Another of their children they got mad at on vacation. He was wanting to try and swim without floaties, and his mom said no, but he tried anyway. He almost drowned in the pool, and the parents didn’t bother to help bc the mom said he was guilty of being prideful.

Every time the children cry, she grabs a camera for content. I still can’t believe she took the sons bed for months leaving him to sleep on the floor/his beanie bag, took his phone, AND sent him away. Before the mom sent him to “camp” him and the other children complained about not having friends and how some people were even making fun of them about their videos on UA-cam. I’m glad her subscribers noticed and called CPS immediately!
