Make sure you shave. If you have a fast growing beard, shave again, just shave. I used to shave in the shower at night then again in the morning. Make sure you empty your water bottles and leave the lids open, make sure you fill them before a weopns lesson. Smiley socks. LOCK YOUR LOCKER. And if you served in the army before, don't ever mention it. Be the "Grey Man". March everywhere, just march. Don't be Jack, help your mates, always help your mates.

Taught at kapooka different technique for lacing boots. Tie knot at one end of lace start threading boot from bottom to top should only have 5 lace crossings to other side of boot, lace underneath doest cross tongue of boot it goes to hole above the current one then over to opposite side and repeat. It makes it easier to cut boot off if foot is injured and swells

@@yacobshelelshaddai4543 Hey man, well I did the 80days Kapooka and now been in the Army almost 4yrs. As far as toilet breaks go, any lessons, drill or PT sessions you're doing should only go for 45mins then a break. People thought there was something wrong with me when I went to the toilet on every break, not that I had to go, it's just you may not get another chance to go later. I was on parade once and the guy whispered next to me "i need to shit real bad awwwwwhhh" Are you going Kapooka?

Another great video man. thanks. i am down to 11 days until i go for reserve training...
    Just a couple of questions:
Why use speed laces? and do they care which ones you use out of the 2 sets that come with the GPs?
First in line, take the last spot... got an example for this?
What is the go with the sheets?
I am all for getting use to certain things, getting up and going to bed at certain times etc to get use to it, but can you elaborate on the training to only go to the toilet at 2200. (do you only get to go once a day or am i completely missing something...)
    Thanks again

Hey, enlisting on march 6th, so I may or may not see the video but here's my question regardless ! 😅
Being awarded things such as, best at arms and best at PT etc..
Are these things that each individual should aim for as it could put them a step ahead in future? Or does aiming for these completely eliminate the idea of being the 'Grey man'.
Or is does achieving such things go deeper than being at the front of every run and making yourself known.
    Thanks mate !

Ok before I say more, I know. Before anyone says it's a bad idea, I know it is. I don't want answers telling me what will happen if I get caught and 101 reasons as to why I shouldn't do it. I just want realistic answers.
. I want to bring my inhaler with me. I have excercise induced asthma but if I take a puff of my inhaler before I run, I am good for the next 6 hours pretty much, so I don't need to keep it on me. My plan is to use it every morning in the restroom before PT.
So my question is, what is the best way to do this? Please, give me educated and experienced answers. How does one get through basic with contraband? Where do you hide it? How do you get it past reception? Should you keep it on you at all times, or keep it in your locker?
    Serious answers please.
And again, I know I am a piece of **** for doing this. I have wanted to be in the Army my whole life. If it means anything, I am a Private First Class and I am training pretty much for a desk job.
    Thanks

Also protip (I'm heading off in April for Infantry) remove your cadet photos from your front page on Facebook. Fine to keep them just not as your profile pic and banner otherwise you'll be copping shit.

I don't understand why you would cop shit though, as long as you don't rub it in you should be OK?

Because other cadets have given the rest of us a bad reputation as know it all's and wankers.
      E.g Correcting Recruit Instructors
Wearing their Cadet uniforms to DFR
Providing Incorrect Info to other recruits
The list really goes on but basically due to these wankers we all have a bad reputation.

Dont get me wrong, i have not gone to training yet, but i would presume very strict. if you think it is good enough, i would almost guarantee it is not...

Yeah, I've been living in the army life for my whole life. 20 years. Bothers been in, parents were in. They gave me hundreds of tips. They said even if it's perfect, and there's a small crease, they will rip of your sheets and make you do it again. Now this was 20 odd years ago when they went through Kapooka. :p

    Q. SMOKING AT KAPOOKA. i am currently waiting for my enlistment date, and as a full time smoker (which i told them about) i was wondering what rules they had about smoking. e.g when given free time can you go punch a couple darts and/or during the day at some points such as brekky lunch and dinner?
