Recruitment and retention ‘a huge challenge’ within Australian army

- Defence Minister Richard Marles says recruitment and retention is a "huge challenge” within the Australian army and a focus of attention in the Defence Strategic Review.
Mr Marles said the restructuring of the Australian army will be “part of the solution” in fixing recruitment and retention.
The Australian army will see hundreds of Defence Force personnel be relocated from Adelaide to north Queensland.
“This is really going to make clear the exciting opportunities that do exist within the army,” he said.
Mr Marles said it will “give people a much greater sense of clarity about pathways they can take”.
“That we see as something that will actually help recruitment and retention and ultimately start the pathway towards growing the army - which is ultimately what we need to be doing.”
The whole woke element doesn't help the Ozie Army but it's not as bad as the U.S. variant though...Also each generation are smarter and harder to fool in the recruitment process...I watched alot of the old 1980's Aussie Army ads and they left me feeling that I almost wanted to join here?! Retro/throwback style works or don't bother etc.

Most of my family have been and are ADF’s. How lucky are you to have your lazy arse protected.WW1 1914-18 WW2 1939- 45 Vietnam War 1962-75…2001 2nd phase 3 rd phase Afghanistan.. Australian Families suffered ..maybe not our wars or our battles. Definitely a patriotic thing to do for your country. Don’t call first responders , don’t ask for help .
@@Dash829 this to suggest that Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria wished to invade us which is just silly. The US did their bit in the Pacific during WW11 but it was to serve their own interests.
If the rank stood up for the men on the ground and did not let the government use them as scape goats like they did recently with the SAS and try o take their medals, the army would be able to retain people and not have a rough time recruiting people to join. Nothing is worse then treating your army as throw away items like was done recently with the special forces guys in Afghanistan. It is a disgrace.

Please don't ask me any hard questions I only know the answers to the very very easy ones. So the 1,500 km range Tomahawks go to the Navy the Airforce gets the Air to ground missiles and Army gets the 5 km range anti tank missiles for the Boxer Vehicles. Sounds more like shoring up labors flagging Election Polls in South Australia to me.

They not there for good looks. The army suposed to be there incase of war. And if you dont have it when there is war you are screwed. Australia has to make a choice. Nobody will come to our aid if Aussie refuse to serve ourselves Finland has more in their army than Australia and they half our population size and nowhere near our GDP size. If America goes to war with China we be in the middle of it. And targeted. Australia has pine gap. We be brought into the war just like when the Japanese bomb Darwin 1942
