Kapooka, the 'Home of The Soldier' turns 70

- Blamey Barracks, Kapooka marked its 70th Anniversary with a march-out parade on 12 November 2021.
Close to 60 of Australia's newest soldiers formally completed their initial training at the barracks located near Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. They add their names to the estimated 350,000 soldiers who have graduated from Kapooka serving in every conflict and disaster relief operation undertaken by Australian soldiers over the past 70 years.
Established in 1951, the 1st Recruit Training Battalion at Kapooka contributes to both national security and the formation of national character through the standards set by instructional staff.

What was being in the hallway dressed about? We were there shivering in our jocks with the sheet over our shoulder in the middle of winter!
Mixed platoons. Need to hide that sunrise salute from the ladies.
@@olebrookswado7565 we got made to stitch our pajama shorts closed because to many one eyed snake were making an appearance for hallway roll call.
Kapooka broke me down and then the Army Reserve failed to build me back up. So now I'm just super angry and have no purpose or direction, which is cool.

Best of luck mate, hot tip for young players, take two sets of everything. Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Razer, Sneakers. And then if you happen to have a set that stays in your locker for display purposes, and a set that lives in your drawers for easy access, then that would be a creative solution to morning routine.

@@Rhino7981 I was Alpha, we had one draw under the desk. From memory we had just gotten brand new desks, had to peel the tape off of the front

The masks are brand spanking new, the EF88 entered service like five years ago, the cams around the same time. The webbing is dated, but isn't what actual units issue to their soldiers.
@@dracarysblackfyre6030 Not even. The webbing is very new as well (although, like you said, this isn't what soldiers going into combat wear). In fact, almost everything they have is under 5 years old.
@@charlesjeffery9644 Mmhmm. I used to take a set of the old DPCU webbing out shooting, and I can assure you the newer stuff is way better. I know of choco units that haven't even gotten that new style webbing yet, so pretty much cutting edge
Sorry dudes…Army fails to achieve DLOC year on year. I don’t know where you’re getting your information; I think you’re misinformed. Kindly note…new date of manufacture does not represent new technology. My original comment stands.
The CBRN gear was in terrible condition, same as the night vision equipment. They said they just needed us to get used to using the equipment therefore quality didn’t matter.
Canungra was bad enough.
