    • @SamHodby

      icey you will be fine. If you cam shoot right handed it will be easier, but other than that, all good. They do have left handed rifles, but cocking handle on the same side as right, so is a but annoying. If had 2 left handed mates and they went fine all the way through.

    I just binge watched the entire series and enjoyed the whole thing!
    I review military rations and was wondering if I could ask you about any tricks in making the CR1M more interesting? Eg. Mix beef stew and instant mashed potato mix together to make rissols.
    Cheers mate. Keep up the great work.

    Hello. I have been thinking about joining the Australian Army Reserves as either an Armoured Vehicle Crew or Artillery Gunner for about a few months now. I am doing it because I want to push and test myself, gain experience. But i also have a few questions hoping I can get answered such as:
    1. Deployments
    As a reservist what are the types of deployments you can expect? Do you get sent off to wartorn countries? Or are they more helping operations such as bushfire relief? Also is it compulsory to deploy or can you choose not to deploy overseas as a reservist?
    2. Commitment
    As a reservist can you leave at anytime if you feel like the army reserve isn't for you?
    How strict are they if you choose not to come in as often as you would like?
    3. Training
    What sort of training can you expect when starting out as AVC or Artillery in the Army Reserves?
    Also if anyone has been or is in the Australian Army Reserves and want to share your experience please do that's would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

    Is there an option to shoot with both hands? I'm ampidexterous (or however you spell it) but haven't shot a gun yet, I will this year, I don't know which hand I'll be better at because some things are done better left handed and some things better right handed

    • @htsk4898
      @htsk4898  3 роки тому +1

      It's no so much hand dominance but eye dominance with firearms. Whichever eye you see best out of will generally be you shooting hand. I'm right handed but left eye dominant so I shoot rifles with my left, but for one reason or another pistols with my right.
      Hope that helps.

    • @Celeste-vp9nj
      @Celeste-vp9nj 3 роки тому

      If either eye works I would try to go right handed. It makes some things easier like the fact that regardless of which hand you actually use you will need to have the weapon slung right handed for March out anyway. And it's not a good idea to switch mid way through because the weapons drill is slightly different, you may need to redo the weapons handling test, you would need to switch weapons because the ejection cover is on a different side for lefties and your sight would need to be re-zeroed.

      0peanutman0 , i just marched out 2 weeks ago and wear glasses and was fine. Make sure they are sturdy, ideally fairly plain and not too flashy, and take 2 strap things for them (1as spare). You will be fine. And yes, you will get cam paint on the, and it sucks.

    • @SamHodby
      @SamHodby 7 років тому

      Hey. have you Enlisted yet? If they are letting you in with your eyes as is, then i would keep it as is. You are not allowed contact lenses. I rarely had to clean my glasses to be honest. there is a lot of days of classroom stuff, and even when you have weapon lessons and you are outside and in the dirt, it was not really an issue there either. I am lucky that my eyesight is good enough that, on days like bayonet assult course day (where the first thing is jumping into a pit of water), i could go without them. though the others with glasses did not really have too many issues with it. Trust me my friend, you are over thinking it (like i did for SOOOO many things before going), you wont have any issues. Just make sure they are not bright pink or stand out like dogs balls, and you will be fine. :)
