Resident Evil Village is a survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom. It was released for Windows, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Stadia.
In this video I go over key differences and similarities for Resident Evil Village on the PS4 Pro and PS5. These include differences in frame rate, screen resolution and next gen features such as ray tracing only available on the Playstation 5.

I know I'm in the minority with this but I actually kinda miss the old tank controls of classic Resident Evil. Okay I'll go to my room without supper now.
I don't necessarily miss those tank controls but I wouldn't be opposed to playing a new resident evil game had they gone back to those type of controls 🙂I mean, I can still go back and play the RE1 remake just fine👍

I too am in the same thought of missing the old style of Resident Evil, even though those games are still available to play anytime
would be nice that Capcom make a sorta retro style RE the same way they made retro style Mega Man 9 and 10
It's gonna be so weird when Capcom release the remake of RE4 and we'll all feel like we've played it already, but because of this game! I'm just outraged that they're leaving out Code Veronica. I wish they would remake that first!
Ikr give us a code Veronica remake first! We need that! Code Veronica used to be my favorite re game back when he was released on Dreamcast. That game looked so good for its time.
@@SuperJumpReviews Yes, there was a time when I considered Zelda: OoT and RE:CV to be my two favourite games of all time. Then RE4 came out and CV has become very dated and difficult to go back to playing ever again and doesn't feel the same. But if they remade it with a lot of care and attention that would allow for those of us who enjoyed it before to relive it and new fans to see what made CV special.

good review. i never thought they would implement CBR upscaling techniques on ps5 to achieve 4k, when im sure the console could run this game at native 4k 60fps RT off. i mean, absolutely nothing wrong with using CBR on the more powerful console, but i feel like they could have optimized better to include absolute native 4k mode, and if they were using CBR, do it for a high refresh rate mode.
but hey, on both platforms, it's fairy high quality. i bet ps4 pro could have a bit better frame rate in performance mode, if it had a better CPU than the crap it was stuck running
Yeah, true, agree with ya there. Maybe in another year or two when they drop support for ps4 and just concentrate entirely just on PS5 there'll be native 4K. Or maybe when they release the PS5 Pro right hehe

There is some drops when on RT mode, but is very rare, most of the time that it happened to me was out of action, when exploring.

It looks cool tbf, the whole euro scenery gets me every time. If I had a ps5 I would get it just for the little details alone. Is it upgradable from ps4?

Its ok. RE8 was really good. RE2Make is possibly the best REGame to date. RE4 and RE8 i hold in the same sorta tier. And im not a huge fan on Re4. 8.5/10 great game. Opinion.

I bought the game on both PS4 and PS5 thanks to that digital bundle on PSN, so when I finally get my PS5, I'll be able to play it as intended.
I already played and beaten it on regular PS4 and didn't see any major issues whatsoever, and my PS4 is a first-gen (ish!) model. I really enjoyed it nonetheless and can't wait for RE9 (or REIX or however they call the next one to keep the subliminal roman number in the title lol).
Yeah capcom optimized the game pretty well for the PS4. But just wait til you play it on ps5!
Yesterday, I started playing RE 8 on Ps4 Pro with 1 tb Samsung 860 Evo SSD upgrade. Its loading times are very quick. Visuals seem very good also in 4k mode. I really like the game overall. I think PS5 visuals would look even better/more striking and noted on VERY large displays. I played my friends PS5 on 49" Sony 4k tv(same size as my tv; also similar Sony line equivalent) and wasn't all that impressed honestly. Will buy one when PS5 slim or pro releases.

@@SuperJumpReviews I like RE 8 alot. Very good game; creepy great story. Only played 2 hrs or so, so far. I have all 8 RE games. The werewolf/monster attack in the beginning of the game is pretty crazy. I'm playing it on normal difficulty.
So managed to get my hands on ah PlayStation 5 yesterday! As I signed up to a Shortlist before Christmas because my daughter wanted her first PlayStation but didn't end up happening, so got her a PS4 PRO that she never plays😁😄😂Kinda glad doe, but that's another Story. So the other day I got an email about the PlayStation5 Shortlist and that i had made it lol dunno how they judged it.......... Who puts the most hours in🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️but I made it, woke up for the Online Event and after being in a queue for what it said would be over an hour and then all of a sudden it said 3 minutes till it was my turn🤯🤯🤯 and after Sweating though the address and bank account bit and thinking that it messed up a couple times reloading pages which seemed like they wsd back to the beginning I finally got all my details in payed 9.99 premium delivery as I didn't wanna wait the weekend!! And it turned up yesterday Sooooo Happy with it such an Upgrade from my Super Noisy PS4 PRO that had got to the point that I couldn't even play WarZone because the PlayStation says it's Too Hot and go's into Super Drive Mega LOUD MODE!!! So yeah Mad Happy With It Super Quiet!! But now finally at My Question... Should I keep buying PS4 Games like Resident Evil Village as it has a free upgrade to PS5 I noticed you say in another reply? Or Should I just Buy it on the PS5 as I don't have a PlayStation 5 Game yet and kinda would like to get it or is it better to get it for the 4? Because then I could borrow it to a friend and could still get the upgrade anyway? Could always wait for that "Shiney New Game" Need your Great Advice?🤔🤔🤔😁😁😁🇬🇧👍🏻
Congrats on the new ps5!!!!!! Welcome to the club😁About your question. Imho, I would opt for buying the ps4 version of a game if it allows for a free next gen upgrade. The only reason is that you’re essentially getting two copies of a game instead of one. A ps4 and a ps5 version. Also like you said you could loan the game to a friend who might not have a ps5 yet.

my sister just got a ps5 today (I play on PC so....) and stumbled upon this video and she asked me if the ps4 copy of the game when played on the ps5, will it play and look good on the ps5 even though she has a ps4 copy of the game, she said she didn't want to buy another copy for the ps5 because she already has one.
She doesn't have a UA-cam account and also she is deaf and mute.
The PS4 copy includes a free upgrade to ps5 version so your sister won't have to buy another copy. When you insert the disc into the ps5 you'll get an option to download the ps5 patch.

I'm gonna have to be that 'guy' again, but there are NO supernatural aspects in Village; every enemy is a BOW, each with their own mutation. The Cadeau each of them received is what's causing their weird-ass mutations, the same way the Las Plagas from RE4 did for the Ganados and how each new virus introduced from past RE games as well.
Don't listen to those one-minded jackasses you hear everywhere saying the series went full supernatural now, cause that's a load of bullshit. It has, is and will ALWAYS be about science gone wrong.
