Capcom said RT Mode will be 45fps. Now it drops one time to 53fps and it runs much higher then 45fps. It's also amazing that it runs at locked 60fps without RT. Pretty amazing Job from Capcom. It's funny when people say "it's CB4K". For the Eye it looks most of the Time like native 4K according to the Video. When you look at foliage and Hair then you will see some CB Rendering artefacts but most of the Time it looks like native 4K to the Eye so that's great. When these 500 hundred dollar consoles use a method its trash. go figure 😀😀
I feel like this RT implementation is way more natural than we usually see with everything enhanced to show off RT. Like this not everything looks chroma like. Much more realistic. Love it.
Make it 1080p 30 locked on PS4 and it will be one of the most impressive titles on the platform. Same goes for PS4 PRO with 1080p60, just couple of dips to iron out and they have an amazing showpiece. It will be very interesting to see if Seriex X can double the performance of One X while both run at 4k.
Damn! Capcom should've implemented dynamic resolution rather than going native, that fps hovering around 60 in rtx mode would've been solidified! Shame, native is nice but if it drops fps then is it really any good?
It's like I said on Twitter... For 45fps, if you lock the frame production with RTSS and lock Vsync ON, then the frame will automaticaly fill the YYYNYYYNYYYN refreshes in a very presentable way. It works flawlessly for almost any title that needs a better balance of resolution vs framerate. Specially on first person games that were locked to 30fps, they would benefit SO MUCH from this. 30 isn't enough for ANY first person shooter, and 60 reduces the resolution so much that you can't properly use a sniper. You guys should try it with a game that has dynamic resolution scale, like Apex Legends... lock the frame rate in-game to 46 (yes one more to compensate delay in resolution shifts), lock RTSS to 45 and turn Vsync ON in-game. The image sustain a much better quality than 60 and won't go anywhere near the latency of 30. Try it on PC with any title that is locked to 30 on consoles. Then feel the difference.
I will seriously never understand why on earth these studios don't just give you an option to lock the framerate at 30. Like, c'mon, just let me cap it so I don't have to deal with all the judder.
@@syunafrost351 The obvious solution is that it should always be an option. 30fps can be rough but I sure as hell prefer it to an uncapped framerate that's all over the place.

oh ok so I think I get what frametimes are now: 16 ms means one frame for every one 60th of a second 33 ms means one frame for every two 60ths of a second So if you have an uncapped framerate resting between 30 and 60, the experience is more like rapidly alternating between 30 and 60 fps which looks stuttery.
Why would Capcom not give a 30fps option on PS4 and PS4 Pro? I find it bizarre, surely they knew they weren't hitting 60. I know it's a demo but still, come on guys.
Well done guys quite a lot of work here with limited time with demo. I'm on XSX and looking to seeing what experience is like on more powerful hardware. Hope RE9 is next gen only.
I honestly think that people over think on frame rates too much this day and age. I played on PS5 with RT on and didn’t even realized it hovered between 45-60. I’ve seen comments where people are upset by that. I don’t let these things ruin my enjoyment as long as the presentation is stable, even with fluctuations. I cannot for the love of god comprehend how in 2021, developers that are also gamers, AND giving regular PC ports, still refuse to understand what differing framerates look on a 60Hz non VRR display. How hard it is to put a slider in with a framelimiter, to choose from 30 or 60.

This looks like a PS3, PS4, and PS5 game all at the same time. There is massive detail, but it is really inconsistent and very muddy up close. Some places look a couple gens behind, while some parts look close to next gen. It is probably the TV I'm watching it on and the horrible UA-cam compression.
My thoughts: * Base PS4: Based on the performance chart it looks like the game would have been able to run at 1080p on the base PS4, pretty much locked at 30. But I know Capcom always tries to get as close to 60 on their games as possible, but I mean, right now, where the performance is on the base PS4, I'd rather see it locked at 30 with a native 1080p resolution than the fairly unstable attempt to reach 60 @ 900p. * PS4 Pro: Good performance @ 1080p. I feels like that's the mode you'd want to use on the previous gen console. * PS5: Locked @ 60 with RT off, which is excellent. Also has great performance with RT on... It's close enough to that 60 target that I'd probably go for RT on personally speaking.
I wish I knew about the uncapped thing for Pro's resolution mode, I would've played like that on PS5 when I was playing the PS4 version for my 2nd playthrough. I'll be sure to remember that for the next demo. Overall I'd say these measurements bode well for the inevitable PSVR2 version 😏 The idea with these demos is to replicate the E3/convention experience where you got to be somewhere and you get one chance, unless you line up again for the same demo. Its E3 at home, and honestly this is the sort of direction E3 and publishers need to take to keep E3 week relevant long term.
I'm a noob on this stuff and even i know that a steady 30fps with a steady frameTIME is better then a fps going up and down between 30-40. Why would they do this? If you cap it to 30fps in this game you would even have extra power left you can spend on other stuff like improved shadow resolution or whatever.
The demos have been awesome so far. I’m torn on whether I should go with RT or Perfomance Mode with the full game. I normally go with Performance, but the RT does look nice...
I think a game like resident evil can get away being below 60fps since it's a slower pace game. I might go with the rt mode myself, it's almost at locked 60 anyways.

This is what happens when you develop a crossgen game and have to support so many consoles and divide resources. The PS5 version is still a nice jump over the PS4 (900p at 40-50fps versus 4k at 55-60fps with ray tracing) and overall the game looks really good, even stunning at times. I think on the macro scale the game looks amazing, it's just some textures don't hold up when you get really close. A byproduct of lastgen I'm sure.

Be honest everyone, the only NOTICEABLE difference for next gen consoles is loading time. I'm not the type to microwave my pop-tarts and I can wait 20 seconds before spending hundreds to run from load screens.
This. I'll take that locked buttery smooth 60 FPS. It looks VERY similar. The atmosphere comes off as the same. I don't feel like I'm missing anything skipping out on RT. Seriously wish they wouldn't focus on RT this generation. It's just TOO early.

Funny how people do not care when a PC Game uses DLSS, it's also not native 4K but nobody is saying a word about it😅. PC Games running at 1440p using DLSS to make it look better, but nothing is said.
Decent advice, but I would never use vsync in game, instead turning vsync on from nvidia control panel if you can.
I will seriously never understand why on earth these studios don't just give you an option to lock the framerate at 30. Like, c'mon, just let me cap it so I don't have to deal with all the judder.

oh ok so I think I get what frametimes are now:
16 ms means one frame for every one 60th of a second
33 ms means one frame for every two 60ths of a second
So if you have an uncapped framerate resting between 30 and 60, the experience is more like rapidly alternating between 30 and 60 fps which looks stuttery.
Why would Capcom not give a 30fps option on PS4 and PS4 Pro? I find it bizarre, surely they knew they weren't hitting 60. I know it's a demo but still, come on guys.

17:00 Call of Duty 2 texture resolution 👏
My thoughts:
* Base PS4: Based on the performance chart it looks like the game would have been able to run at 1080p on the base PS4, pretty much locked at 30.
Base PS4 should have a 1080p 30fps option
PS4 Pro should have 4k 30
PS5 Should have DRS on the RT mode
Why did capcom not get this
I wish I knew about the uncapped thing for Pro's resolution mode, I would've played like that on PS5 when I was playing the PS4 version for my 2nd playthrough. I'll be sure to remember that for the next demo.
Overall I'd say these measurements bode well for the inevitable PSVR2 version 😏
The idea with these demos is to replicate the E3/convention experience where you got to be somewhere and you get one chance, unless you line up again for the same demo.
Amazing review as always.
But is it just me or does the resolution mode of PRO look less textured then Performance? 3:33
Not just you. Resolution mode looks like ass.
