This song.... there are no words to decide the beauty, depth and meaning it conveys.
I enjoy watching some stuff on UA-cam. But music-wise? This song is the best, be it audibly, visually and/or emotionally.
This song is my favorite to watch reactions to. I've only seen one group that didn't feel the lyrics like this.
A truly poetic meaning/reaction to one of the first renditions I've ever seen/heard.
I had no idea this was.a possibility from this band, and more importantly, this singer, to accomplish such a feat, to covey such emotion never seen before.

David is a trained cantor. Classically trained. Never uses auto tune. He always says why do something on an album if you know it can’t be done in concert it wouldn’t be fair to the Audience. And on this night. He was actually sick with the flu! And he still sounded amazing.

The Simon and Garfunkel original is a man having a revelation, and trying to share it. The Disturbed cover is a wearier, more cynical, more practiced presentation of that same revelation, pointing out the mounting evidence that the revelation was true, and ignored.

    - Draiman covers roughly two-and-a-half octaves from bottom to top. His vocals are so distinctive.
-Disturbed had been nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Rock Performance for their rendition of "The Sound of Silence" while appearing on Conan.
-David: "The fact that I was sick as a dog (laughs). I remember I was definitely fighting something off, but it was a cool experience. It was cool performing with an actual orchestra. It was really vibing and the mood helped, I think, enhance the delivery. The stars just aligned that night and everything went right."

After hearing this song and his amazing voice I went to see them in concert in Saginaw, Michigan 2 years ago. I took my cousin and we loved it. This song came out when I was a teenager by Simon and Garfunkel. Of course I am now 70, but I have told you that. I have a musical brain and I keep listening AND going to concerts. I did some research on David-- his great grandpa was a caller (singer) in the holy temples in Jerusalem! His voice had to be amazing because those kinds of notes are just pure talent to achieve. David believes he got his voice from him. 💜 Luv your reactions, similar to my own. When is your birthday? Are you a Sagittarius? December??
