This cover hit differently than the original in a truly magnificent way.
Let me know what your favourite covers of classic songs are down below and I'll check them out :)
For covers you should totally check out Patrick Stump covering Life on Mars (Bowie), or Marianas Trench covering So It Goes!
Floor Janssens Vilja Lied
You should really watch the official video
Jonathan McClatchey Totally agree.
You might want to react to High Hopes by Nightwish, from End of an Era (preferably the live version, as always with Nighwish: ua-cam.com/video/4oEDnVeYYyM/v-deo.html). If you dont know: The original is by Pink Floyd, The Division Bell Album (1994), written by David Gilmour and his wife Polly Samson (if I remember correctly).
Other than that you could react to Johnny Cash - Hurt (although you might already know this), Original by Nine Inch Nails - on The Downward Spiral (also 1994!), written by Trent Reznor.
I dont care what anyone says. This is one of the greatest covers of all time.
Agree.
Another one I really like is My Sharona by HammerFall
And Till I Die by Wildways
Truth
One of my favorite covers. Along with
Faith No More: War Pigs
Jonny Cash: Hurt
Killswitch Engage: Holy Diver
No question! Love this...brings a tear whenever I listen to it. It’s very moving.
It gets me every time
Heard this before: Simon and Garfunkel’s original was a warning, this version was anger at the warning being ignored. So real
THIS!! Perfect! S&G's original has been a part of my entire life. And you are correct regarding the warning.
I fell in love with this cover immediately, the instant I first heard, it and the 1st video of it has to be one of my top10 personal song renditions ever.
But you have now completed my appreciation. Yes Yes Yes! You nailed it. That's it.
Thank you Tyler.
Yes, spot on.
Well said Tyler. Perfect definition.
Exactly. Well noted
@@keithdoyon5947 S&G was the warning. Cult of Personality was the prophecy. This is the anger that no one listened.
No one that was there that night had any idea what they were about to witness. One of the best vocal performances ever heard. Unbelievable.
Shame they use autotune though1
@@garyking4032he was upset about that too. He was sick that night as well.
@@steveskonberg1599 It's a shame when the music industry insists on autotuning singers with decent voices. I understand that it has become the norm, but I'd rather hear real performances.
In 1975, when I was 5 years old, when no one else was home, my dad and I used to lay in the living room floor, beneath all the speakers (yes, a good sound system in the 70's). This was one of my father's favorite songs, we listen to Simon and Garfunkel over and over. So, the song has a lot of sentimental value for me.
When I first heard this cover, I was driving my daughter to her first day of high school, she looked over and asked me why I was crying. I told her the story and I told her how much I missed my father and wish that I could have shared it with him, in this world.
we played the song a second time, she cried, too.
This is such a beautiful story, I can relate so much to that.
When God made David he asked if he would like the voice of an Angel or a Demon. He simply answered "Yes".
love that
Lol wat
😂👍🏻
I see a comment like this on every reaction video to this song lol.
Awesome statement 🤗💚
He was actually sick during this performance. When he found out that they put that autotune in, he WAS PISSED. He is classicly trained.
He is trained as a Jewish Cantor like his grandfather. Amazing voice!
You got proof of that?

I’m 58 and I have always loved the original version. Having said that, with this version I FEEL the lyrics in a new way. It’s like this was how the song was always meant to be sung. I can’t stop listening to it and get goosebumps every single time.
That's it, you are so right about that. I really wonder why Simon and Garfunkle didn't sung it like that, as the text is dark and tense, why sing it lighthearted?
@@Delibro Oh, I wouldn't say they sing it lighthearted. The 800 Pound Gorilla that everyone isn't talking about is that it is BETTER than the original. And I love Simon and Garfunkel and their version of this song as well....but the Cover is better than the original....
Same here, and I agree with everything you said.! When I first saw this version, I literally watched vocal coaches reacting to this video for hours on end! I never knew that Dave had such a melodic and beautiful voice. And I too still get goose bumps every time I watch it.
@@Delibro well, if u listen to other S & G, that's kinda their thing, as was /is Paul Simon's solo work.
i'm 53, male fwiw, and i also feel the song in a very new way, as if a more socially realistic way. I adore this rendition, and that dive into phemonenal tonality with the lines w/ 'prayed to the neon god they made', etc etc. I am not very familiar w/ Disturbed and now am very interested in them.
I have so much respect and love for David Dramon and Disturbed, and it comes from this song. It opened up a whole new genre of music to me. I'm 60, and had never appreciated the talent in some of the heavy metal bands I had dismissed as angry young men. You by now have watched the video that goes with this song. It gave a sense of much needed hope for the future!

Things like this is so awesome to hear and reminds me to keep an open mind even if skeptical towards things at first. For further evidence that David and the rest of us can be just as compassionate, or even more, as anyone(or just to improve mood if feeling down one day), search here on youtube for "Disturbed stops show to comfort scared girl". Truly heartwarming.. Best wishes
Thanks for using subtitles instead of stopping the song every 5 seconds. It allows your viewers to SEE your reaction, then you can go back and dissect the song/video.
True!!
Agreed, will be subbing for this reason!
Agreed, first time seeing a reactionist do that which is really appreciated
THIS
than dont look a reaction if you hate it
He was just as P*ssed off about that one moment of auto tune. He is a perfectionist that does NOT want mechanical help with his voice and the production staff made the choice because he had a cold while singing this. He didn't need it, and having one off or flat note would ahve been preferable to that jarring autotune moment.
Disturbed went into the studio and did a recording track of this without auto tune and with rehearsal to go fully in their own style. Its worth a listen to if not a react.
I agree with @Jimmy Lay, please please do yourself a favour and react to the studio version.
@@TheAussieGunBunny And the official video also enhances the storytelling further.
Agreed. The studio version is better, in this case. Just David, no TV hacks putting auto-tune on his voice against his wishes.
Yeah I kinda like people to react to the music video first because it's beautiful visually and it's a cleaner production.
This version is still amazing though, despite the autotune
React to the video. Nuff said.
If i picked out just 3 songs that allows a look into my soul after 35 years in the mitary, this would be #1. This man made magic with his voice and the words.
thank you so much for NOT STOPPING it on every note, tone, or power change! Thank you for letting us FEEL it the way YOU"RE feeling it!
55 years ago, Simon and Garfunkel sang us a warning.
Disturbed perfectly encapsulates the anger that no one bothered listening to it.
Yes.
@@ladyethyme I have to say that, ~50 years ago when I first heard this, I didn't hear any anger. It was a very pretty song, but there was very little emotion that I noticed; just prettiness. I did really enjoy it, though.
This version makes the warning rather more obvious. It's two emotions rather than one (or none). It's still a revalation. I think there's a better version waiting for someone out there, though, and that version will be *really* great.
Nobody listened what I love is disturbed kept it like the original which is huge respect
Well said.
"Metalheads can't sing!", they said...
David Draiman: "Hold my beer!"
Because of him I have a lot more respect for the people doing heavy metal. I still can't listen to it, but at least I can appreciate maybe they have some talent.
*hold my vocal chords
@@fakecubed I had the opportunity to attend the rehearsals of a local heavy metal band as they were preparing to record an album. Listening to their conversations as they worked out the arraignments, I realized that they were using advanced jazz chords and progressions.
Changed my respect for metal musicians.
@@scottbc31h22 Yeah, metal has far more roots in jazz, blues, and classical than it has in contemporary rock. The instrument voicing and general "heaviness" is more coincidentally related/co-evolved alongside rock rather than being causally related to it.
@@fakecubed Not to be one of those "bUt yOu hAvEn'T hEaRd THIS tYpE oF mEtAl" people lol, but the genre is sssooooooOOOOOOO much wider and more varied than people often realize, which isn't to pressure you to check out anything that doesn't spark your interest but just to provide underrecognized information. There's a ton of metal music out there that has clean vocals (meaning sung as opposed to growled or screamed etc.) and slow tempos, relaxing tones, etc. (Porcupine Tree comes to mind), and plenty of the faster "heavier" stuff has clean vocals and is less aggressive to the ear than plenty of everyday rock. And of course plenty is instrumental, and much of that is very colorful and musically rich and not super intense at all. Just tossing it out there because it's so sad when people don't realize the incredible diversity inherent across metal subgenres!
I’ve listened to this version 50 to 60 times and I cry. Every. Damn. Time.
me too....
One of the best remakes, EVER. Great voice. Emotional.
That David sang this with a cold, is a testament to his absolute control of his voice
Flu, I heard.
And a fever
Explains why he was a bit off on this performance
Indeed, been his profession for a long time.
i mean u can hear in his voice some is off.. he did less of growliing than in video cuz that puts a strain on his voice

That is exactly what I said, lol! I've been listening to this entire album on repeat. seeing the expressions on her face as the song gets deeper made my day!
As a wise man once said "BUT WAIT!!! THERE'S MORE!!!!!" lolz he wasnt joking rip Billy Mayes

Paul Simon gave them this song he was so ecstatic about this passionate version...THIS SONG HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT THE WORDS AND MEANING..HITS THE SOUL EVERYTIME..
David Draiman's vocals on this cover are haunting. You can't listen to this and not be moved, unless you're a robot. It's just knocks it out the park. I love Disturbed, and they've done covers for years, usually at least 1 per album, but this one is far and away the most special.
Let's be even more impressed. He was sick during this performance and was totally ticked when they auto tuned him. This is my favorite version. Love his voice!

You go beyond hearing that song, you feel the experience of it!!!!!
Legendary Performance!!!!!
Thank You Conan O' Brien for this most Treasured Treasure!!!!!!
David was so angry, Conan’s people did the auto tune themselves. Their is another live version that is fabulous. David hates AUTO TUNE! There is an interview about this performance.
That's why I always listen to the Disturbed video - no autotune and that section is so much better without it.
I was gonna say the same. Apparently he heard the autotune through ear piece, and then hit every note bang on perfect. Screw autotune
The only reason he accepted at all was because he did have a lottle cold as well
@Steel Base he had the flu I believe
There's a whole reddit thread of haters of this performance, they say that he basically auto-tuned the whole thing, the guitar is muted, and that he is basically singing over a backing track for the majority of the song.
He had the flu and was running a temperature during the show. He also told them not to use autotune and they did it anyway. I love his voice.
Yeah, that always pissed me off...
I do not have trained ears at all ... where is the autotune?
@@heathermay9884 5:12 for example. That metallic sound is not natural. Although it's actually pretty hard to tell his real voice from autotune because he has this special ability to distort his voice.
@@Argosh thank you! I didn't even know you could autotune a live performance. His voice is extraordinary without it.

Julia, I love how real you were with your reaction to this video. You were mesmerized and transfixed to the live version of this song. It was obvious that you were moved by the performance for sure.
This is the first reaction that I’ve seen you do, and I love how you add the notes to the top of the video without talking over the song. Wonderful reaction and explanations of what he is doing vocally.
FINALLY. Someone noticed the flawless transition from “tenement” to “halls”
Yeah, I think that's one choice that comes through clearer in this Conan performance than the studio/music video version.
The more I think of it, it's such a perfect choice.
is this important to notice?
Did you hear the flawless transition from the autotune?
Yes! That transition is awesome.
@@gametime2473 he was furious about the autotune, they added it without his prior consent. It sounds better without.
Simon & Garfunkel sing this like they're in the back room of a pub somewhere playing to a full house of punters. Draiman sings it like he's sitting in the bombed-out ruins of a city explaining to the kids how they ended up there. I figure the look in his eyes is just where he needs his head to go to be able to make his voice *that* sombre.
S&G sang this as a warning.
David sing it because we didn’t listen to S&G.
I think what you're trying to say is S&G tell the story while David dramatizes it. They are both unique in their own way and just as valuable.
the point is, we sitting in the bombed-out ruins of a city and have to explain it to our childrens. He nails it.
I have a different take, David is singing it sitting in the ruins in the aftermath of war amongst his injured or dead friends and Simon and Garfunkel are actually singing it decades in the future in the pub retelling the story over a pint
This comment sums it up perfectly. Like a combination of a Rage Against the Machine song, and Mad World. 😢😥😰
This version is the natural progress of this beautiful melody with a powerful message. It's like Disturbed are saying, you didn't listen the first time, now I'm going to get tough. Both versions move me.
The effortless rasp really pulls in the listener. Incredible lyrics and songwriting.....not the crap that's come out the past 20 years.
David Draiman is a trained Cantor singer with a natural vocal Fry. He was very sick during that performance and was angry that the show used auto tune, that was not his choice!!! Appreciate his talent!
The man is amazing!! I, myself, DETEST Autotune! I would have been angry as well.
I knew and read he was a Telmudic student, and I figured he had Cantor training... That explains the vowels and almost perfect articulation of the words.. he is amazing for sure :)
When Garfunkel actually says "That song is now HIS song" you know you done good. Lol
He never said that

I've learned to this for what seems like forever, I've watched 100s of reaction videos, the very title has so many layers of interpretation, overwhelmingly it can be seen as conversation with self. The original had characteristics of youth looking forward with apprehension, 55 years later it transforms with a sterness of wisdom of age, a then and now that cannot and should not be compared. Both are masterpieces.
Love your reaction.
Love David’s version of this song. So powerful, I play it over and over again, can’t get enough of it.
David was very ill when he sang this. He had the flu and was laying down until moments before going on stage. The band had him sit on a stool because they thought he would faint. BTW David was livid at the autotune! That was done 100% without his approval it was done by the Conan producers. If you watch the music video you will be able to tell he can slay this song even without autotune. David is vehemently opposed to the use of autotune.
I'll bet he made sure it's in the contract for any performance he did or does from then on.
I think Julia is more interested in hearing herself speak than choosing the best samples of an artists music. Compare the straight track time with her reaction time...it’s glaringly obvious
@@johnfry4501 Yeah well, I could listen to this lady talk all day. So, I get it.
@@johnfry4501 - Um, it's a reaction video. That's what she's supposed to do. She actually talks a lot less than most other reaction reviewers. If you don't want interruptions and talking, don't watch reaction videos; stick to the originals.
@@johnfry4501 ?? I mean, I watch these reaction videos for the reaction, especially ones from vocal coaches for their analyses like this. Personally, she's one of my favorite reactors because of her more extensive analyses. Isn't the reaction the point of reaction videos?
I love that you not only identified the auto-tune but flatly dismissed it as unneeded. David was livid when he discovered they used auto-tune on his voice. He was ill, like feverish, sweats, chills, SICK; plus he gets stage fright because he's so critical of his own work. In an interview he said he's gotten comfortable playing arenas and the like, but when a red light goes on a camera he shuts down; so the whole day leading up he wouldn't let anyone near him as he attempted to psych himself up for this performance. Also, look closer, he's not standing, he's on that bar stool which means he's delivering all that range and volume while SEATED. I need to find the source on this again so forgive me but I'm paraphrasing from memory, but after that performance he and Paul Simon spoke and Paul said it was the most beautiful performance of his song that he had ever heard; it belonged to him now. Paul further saw fit to share their video on his own social media pages and endorse the cover publicly. It has been said that if you consider the performance by Simon and Garfunkel as a warning that needs to be heeded, this version is the anger and disappointment in realizing that it hasn't been heeded. Disturbed's music video of this song also contains powerful imagery to go along with the lyrics, in my opinion the video could almost be watched on mute and still bring the view to tears.
Your face during the first 2 verses is exactly how I felt the first time I heard this. Phenomenal reaction video! Good show! LOVE this version.
Wow, thank you for writing your knowledge instead of stopping a million times! This is the only reaction, of any song, that I’ve ever seen use this technique and I love and appreciate it!!!
My favorite caption: "To whoever put that auto tune in there, he clearly doesn't need it"
I believe the studio insisted upon it, even though he said no. Mostly because he was under the weather that day. I think he had either the flu or a bad cold. Either way, David did a fantastic job. I love this version too
I’ve seen him live, he actually sucks

@@jeffmarkle4576 Sorry... that voice is "treated" in this performance. He might not wanted it, but I can hear it quite clearly. The word "silence" at 6:13 is quite obvious. But hey... no biggie.

@@sugarwalls2022 yeah, that's the vibrato in his voice. It's all him. No biggie though, you're right.
Heavy metal singers know how to use rasp without damaging their vocal chords. David is perfection here.

you are so awesome! thanks for this!
As I've been getting older, I find myself feeling really quite emotional when listening to music, ecpecially certain songs by certain artists (frankly, usually those in my or my children's generation). Sometimes it gets a bit difficult to listen to certain songs by the Traveling Wilburys because I cry when I hear Roy sing "I'm so tired of being lonely" (my eyes are wet just typing this because I hear it in my mind) or when George or Tom take a lead singing line in any of their songs. Three of my lifelong favorite artists in probably the one band that is truly deserving of being called a "supergroup" are now gone. The reason they were deserving of that moniker was that their dedication to their friendship was the most important reason they recorded music together. To share their friendship's love of music by writing and playing/singing songs together and sharing them with the world for those of us who loved to hear their music.
David and his band, Disturbed, have shared a lot through their own music, and for me, their "interpretation" of a Paul Simon & Art Garfunkle masterpiece has changed the emotional impact of that song from being at the edge of what once looked like a deep dark forest to being on a journey down in a dark, dank, dirty mine tunnel and coming to a juncture facing a choice between three tunnels, not knowing which one leads to the way out. As you make a choice and continue down one of the paths, you find it only gets a bit darker no matter which "path" you take.
Glad I'm not the only one suddenly feeling emotional to music as I get older. Rock on!
Lesser appreciated aspect of your reactions:
You don’t talk through the whole song. I love the notes above the video while we can SEE your reaction.
I love this. One or two pauses is fine, but I love the in-time thoughts and comments typed out rather than pausing every 3 seconds...

Hi Julia.
Once again a great reaction.
Simon and Garfunkel spoke out a warning.
Disturbed expresses ANGER, about the warning being not listened to/taken serious.
Very well said! They're both great versions of a song that after so many years is since it was written still has meaning (unfortunately). Songs like this and War Pigs from Sabbath and others are powerful because of the truth in the words. They hit hard.
@@HellcatM Disturbed also "covered" Land of Confusion by Genesis - They seem to have a neck for delivering truth.
"The Vengeful One" (Land of Confusion is one video where he appears) also has a lot of truth to tell.
That's close to what I thought about this version. The original seems more sad and kinda resigned to how things are and this more angry. I like both, and I think that's what a good cover does it puts a new spin on something musically, a really good cover puts a new spin on the meaning too.
Have to say I think this performance is better than the studio version too, but I'm a sucker for good live performances with emotional songs.

“It met the necessity of the lyrical content.” “It felt like a warning.” It is, Julia, you’re so right. It literally could not be said any better. Well done.
Spot on Brian
David has the voice of a god. He was sick and you can tell in this performance. I saw them live and he sounds exactly like the album version. This performance is him at like 60% of his normal range.
You can absolutely NOT tell he was sick. This version is better than the studio version.
I LOVE your review. OMG, I love how much you loved this.
Thank you i love how you placed your analysis in words iand we got to see your reaction as a whole. Earned a subscriber :)
"I don't listen to the radio, I kinda have my own personal listening collections" - Sooo you have a Spotify playlist like the rest of us. 🤣🤣
“Radio? Who needs the radio? Ready Harry?
Mock, yeah, ing, yeah, bird, yeah, yeah?, yeah”
Dumb n Dumber ‘94
Uhm, I have vinyl.
I love how captions Julia just offhand bullies her past self LOL
You are fire. I get just as much from your excitement and your words as I do from the performers. This has been a favorite for a long time, and you did it justice and stretched my awe for it.
You are probably the 6th vocal coach I have heard review this cover.... and you rocked for detail, clarity, and passion. Kudos and thank you.
Julia, your reaction to this cover is exactly the same reaction I had. To give you an idea of my connection to this song, I can remember when Simon and Garfunkel released this song. Yes, I’m a 70 year old man and I heard Disturbed’s cover, for the first time, just 6 days ago.
Many, many people have reacted to this cover ... yours is the best I have seen. You didn’t keep stopping, picking it apart. You reacted.
Kudos to Disturbed and David’s presentation of Sound of Silence. This cover captures the essence and message of the lyrics. The original version was a “Nice” song created and sung in the era of “folk music”. This cover, to me, is a dramatic moving rebirth of a classic song. If I had to compare David this to another artist, I would put him with Neil Diamond.
I cannot stop playing and listening to this cover by Disturbed and watching your reaction.
I know this is a very long post, but I wanted to share my reaction and history to this song and to thank you for your beautiful reaction.
Thank you, Julia!!!
The original was asking people to see the results of the choices they were making, I feel this version demonstrates some judgment and criticism of people not heeding the inherent warning of the original.
I so agree. I'm 65 and loved this song as a child but F'me this is even better. Have to confess when I was about 55, I as a woman turned into a teenage boy that LOVED angry rock. Disturbed was my favorite band (Down with the Sickness anyone?). When I heard this I was even a bigger fan.
@@rmsteeves if you havnt, look up Five Finger Death Punch. Some of their songs are very powerful. I imagine you've heard them already tho
I'm 59 love the orginal , it and Dust in the Wind are 2 extreme favorites , THIS WAS EXCELLENT , POWERFULL and goes to the Soul , EXCELLENT EXCELLENT COVER.
I don't personally care for covers. I say that if it wasn't broken then leave it alone. But Disturb did justice to something. It will always be a time told song. Not taking anything from Simon and Garfunkel. I don't believe that you could. This cover I didn't mind. Actually enjoyed. Not really going to say better. But truly different and grand in its own right
Him singing this song gives me chills and ur face through the whole thing made it even better cuz that’s how I feel when I hear it.
First he's in your ear, then BAM he's in your face. Building and building, like a fine wine or good sex.. never enough
The best reaction to this song and video I've seen thus far. Well done.
"it's like he's seen things he can't unsee"
Damn. That hit me in my soul.
David's voice just gives me CHILLS everytime I hear this cover. I've heard it so many time and every single times his voice just, god. It's so perfect for this song. And just, the goosebumps.
Was coming in the comments to see if anyone else gets Goosebumps or if it was just me
@@tannerbeverley26 Every damn time. Either on the powerful distortion line or when he ascends back into clarity for the final line of the song. Depends on how I'm feeling that day as to what gets me.
I specifically try not to listen to it too much so that it doesn't lose that impact.
@@SecretSauceyjuice I have just watched about every single reaction video here on UA-cam and listened to it every time. This is in addition to all the times I have already listened to it over the past several years. I still get goosebumps and tear up every single time I hear it. At this point, we are talking a couple hundred times. Not many songs are written so well that you can listen to them that many times and you have the same reaction every single time.
Every single time... it always gives me chills !
Amazes me, that a man known originally for his “heavy metal gorilla” call, can take his voice back to beautiful. The bonus track on their first album was the first giveaway though. We just haven’t heard it again until they did this song. Best metal vocalist I’ve heard
Their song 'Darkness' is another great example of David's vocal abilities! I recommend! That song was the first time I had ever heard him sing like that
TOTALLY agree with this. Coming from the "Down With The Sickness" vocal - which is mostly screaming and roaring(and that is fine - we're talking METAL here!), to hear such a beautiful vocal coming from someone I had previously only considered a metal screamer.........well........anyone ELSE's minds blown?!?!?!!!!!!
Heavy metal gorilla call hahaha I love that description it's so good
Great job on the song but Corey taylor is the goat. No one can match ct range
@@clintwalker3810 I’m guessing you’re from Iowa 😂only an Iowan would ever say that. He’s good, but imo, not on the same level
I appreciate your analysis. You clearly know, or express your knowledge better than nearly all vocal coaches.
The thing that impresses me the most is how effortless the entire song seems to be for him.
Disturbed has also a really nice cover of : Land of confusion.
I like it far better than the original
Wait thats a cover, i thought that was their song
Its honestly ny favorite disturbed song
@@FuryousD Original was Genesis with Phil Collins singing
@@JoeCoulter thank u, i still like disturbed's version better, especially that awesome music video
"the people bowed and prayed to the neon god they made ..."
I was at a pub recently and saw an entire table of people not talking to each other, hunched over their phones in silence
Pub open ??? where ????
I bet they were talking about TVs when it was written. But it is still so applicable today with cellphones, thanks for the observation!
Sad part is Nextels and those phones that had the game snake on it we're better
And before that, they were reading newspapers.
Yep, that's the neon god the song refers to.
This song, and arrangement was the beginning of a complete change in my musical tastes. It made me explore a whole genre of music that I'd written off for most of my life. I guess that's the true power of music.
I have listed to Disturbed since I was in middle school. I can still remember watching the winter Olympics with my family and hearing this song for the first time and it was my mom that recognized his voice. God.....I really do miss her and those times.
this is a Simon-approved cover of the song. just sayin'.. ;)
Saw that on twitter :D
Yes he saw this very performance and was impressed - his words.
He has one of the best voices literally ever imo....Everything disturbed does is unreal.
I fully agree
In my opinion, Disturbed is the updated Metallica mantle.
@@hardwiredtoselfdestruction3401 Eh, they have a much different sound compared to classic metallica.
@@Beanpolr Right. The same energy i got from Metallica, Disturbed has it is what Im saying.
@@Beanpolr Sadly Metallica sold out hard though
Gives me chills every time I hear this, no matter how many times I hear it. Such an amazing performance
My straight laced 67 yr old retired mother with early dimensia wants this song played at her funeral.
Imagine the chill this song gives you, only add the thought of your dying mothers wishes.
Sometimes the emotion that music gives us is equal parts love and pain at the same time.
Oh I would cry a river ...
He was actually getting over the flu during this performance... Maybe at 75-80% on his vocals. Dudes a beast.
When she said "its like he's seen things he cant unsee" yeah.... shit you got that right.... ah man 😪 if anyone reads this and is unsure just go watch "inside the fire" by disturbed
One of my favorite songs by them. Such a sad story behind it though..
"Inside the fire" is an incredible song. It's his way of releasing the pain of seeing his girlfriend commit suicide at the age of 16. So much pain behind that song.
That is an incredible song...
I’ve watched this video at least a thousand times and not once did I know it was from a Conan show! And it brings me to tears every time I hear it ❤
I've always loved this version but didn't know why. Ty for showing me.
Paul Simon has said that this song belongs to them now. He added it to his playlist. Awesome song!!
I dont think he said that. He told them he likes it though
@@SomeRandoooo I've heard he's said that but I've never seen or heard the interview of him saying it
I think people are getting confused with NIN and Johnny Cash’s “Hurt”… however, I DO see this as an entirely different song though… the tone and the meaning is completely… idk… not different, but kinda the flip side of the same coin..? I guess?
This is the way the song should be performed, this song is a devastating song and his version fits perfectly!
This performance is gorgeous. I love seeing people react to because everyone becomes mesmerized by David’s performance.
