Another terrific gig vlog- you really do give it your all at these gigs- great playing and singing! Giving a lot of thought to your insights on modeling technology and will be looking into the Iridium. Thanks again for sharing with us fans!
Welcome! Thanks Bill!
Another good one Rich. Very entertaining and nice to see live playing again.
Rich I live for your gig vlogs man. They are so great. You rip and sound great as always.
This was another fun vid, Rich. So good to see you guys out doing your thing, and rocking hard. Sounded great, and just a lot of fun to watch. Keep on bringing us the good stuff!
You guys are seriously good!
Fantastic Rich. Love watching you on your jams. Very entertaining. You had everyone going. Take care buddy.
I agree using a Boss Katana myself modeling is so close to the real thing.. great gig vog thanks for sharing!🎸🙂👍
This was a very cool video...... looks like you all had a great time at the gigs. Kenadi did a great job for such a young performer . Rich you did an awesome job singing and on guitar...... the other guitarist in back at the pub gigs was great as well....... really enjoy your gig vlogs, can't wait to see more....cheers bro
Dude you are amazing live as well!!!
Fractal! The one that does it all.
Good stuff! I play in a similar band and just decided to go with a Katana Artist 2 and simplify the whole damn thing. I'm only a day into owning it but I think I'm gonna love it. Cheers from Virginia.
Love it!
I know it's a lot of work, hauling gear and long drives, but as someone just starting to learn guitar that looks like so much fun! Great job!
I'm happy to see you gigging more. All your gear sounds great. I play about half of my shows with the Fractal and the other half with the Marshall DSL40 and a pedalboard. It all sounds great.
It's all so good these days. You can get option paralysis.
Once again another great video. The modeling thing can be really cool if the front of house sound tech is good. I'm in Detroit and our live sound situation here is disastrous. There might be a dozen good sound techs in town. The others are clueless. The front of house techs here are at the level of Helen Keller when it comes to mixing/blending or just having a simple clue about what live music sounds like. This is painfully evident at live festivals here. Modeling technology can be a great tool when it's being mixed by the qualified sound techs. Of course, small indoor venues can be dealt with a lot easier if you're using a 50 watt tube rig. At any rate, great video. I love the live stuff. I am hoping that our live sound techs around Detroit can get a better grip on mixing a modeling rig. We just have to wait it out. (the good sound techs in Detroit know who they are. Bless them)
Afu in closed-toe shoes. Now that’s proof this was a big show! You sounded great! Great show Rich! Congrats!
Ha! Exactly!
Sounds really good! I cannot find fault….the strymon was amazing. I need to know more about it.
I loved the pool scene…you have many talents.
HA! The pool was cool!
Thanks!
"Runaround" sounds great! BTW, I know of at least two other great bass players in Utah right now, just sayin'. Thanks for the Vlog!
Ha!
Wyoming looked like a blast, if you could sleep through it any way lol! A really good gig, you don't here the Joker played much anymore 😔
As you can see the audience don’t give a shit what power amp tubes your amp has as long as it sounds good 👌
Another good one, Rich - thanks! And who needs another bass player when you have Afu?
Haha. Dont give Afu a bigger head than he already has...
Of course! IMP Modelling amps are for Gigging and practice with headphones when a real amp is too cumbersome and risky to worry about and drag around, and real p2p tube amps are for personal use around home where you want to experience real tube tone and get the most you can get out of the moment!
Got the kids as roadies 👍 have you got the katana mk 2 version 2 firmware that just came out the other day? It had IR mic modeling that you can send out
I’ve been playing bass in a 3-piece covers band, and acoustic as a solo performer Direct In for about 5 years or so. Been using a wired earphone (right ear only) to monitor my vocals/pitch when needed. I’m experimenting now; just put a orange terror stamp on my pedalboard. It’s a cheap way to get a cab sim and go DI with my electric guitars. I play mostly clean rhythm, so a little reverb and a touch of EQ, and I’m good straight into PA. I just turned 60 so the less too carry the better. My goal is to be “One trip Willy”. You know what I’m talking about. I could lug in a valve amp but it would only impress that dude who’s opinion I’d ignore anyway. ✌️❤️🙏🇦🇺
I like walking in with my guitar on my back. Pedalboard in one hand amp in the other. One trip willy all the way!
I just saw Metallica 2 weekends ago. They use Fractals these days. And they still sounded killer. I guess the technology has finally caught up. I use an HX Stomp and go direct. As an old school Marshall guy it pains me to say that going direct is much better for the sound man and frankly sounds pretty darn good.
The OCD is my secret weapon!
What happens if you need a bass player for a gig in Utah and Afu's busy that night?
Looks a bit toasty out there. They could have at least covered the stage area with some kind of roof/tarp to give the band (and gear) some shade and protection in the event of rain ... Musicians - Last on the list as usual. 😊
How tall was that PA system? 12 ft?
Hi, I really like your gig vlogs! Could you tell me in what order you chain your RC BB OCD overdrives please? and what are your settings? THANKS
BB OCD RC
@@RichBischoff
👍 ok it's as I imagined. I suppose BB for low gain and gain boost for OCD (high gain), and RC for a volume boost ?
Correct
Rich why don’t you ever use your Helix anymore? Do you like the Iridium better for modeling?
Iridium integrates easier into my pedals. Helix I use more for recording and smaller wedding or smaller venue gigs. I need to use it more but I like real pedals and amps as well.
Rich thanks for the feedback! Love the gig vlogs!
I'm always amazed at the distances Americans in some states have to drive just to get somewhere else. It's no wonder abandoned children in those states still believe, with all their hearts, that daddy has "just gone out for milk" years after they should have realised the truth.
