Glad to see your channel growing. Congrats on reaching ten thousand subs.
45 minutes in AMERICA ! thanks for taken us along Rich .
Welcome
@@RichBischoff Rich you have become my favorite git picker on youtube Because you make Great vids about the reality of mine, yours and many others lives . Also feel everyone should have an AFU ! (hope thats how ya spell it) . He seems a great partner. Gear reviews are a dime a dozen GIG VLOGS are the shit .My idea for a future topic if your interested is ( the difficulties of outdoor shows ) I love and hate doing those (weather, bugs ,bats, weather ).
Fun video! Nice to see a 'live' band in a venue again. Thanks for the video Rich!
Sounds great Rich. Neil Young meets Rory Gallagher. No rust on those chops. Awesome. The Katana sounded well as a power unit.
Agreed was really impressed with my tone over the weekend and got lots of compliments about it from other guitarists that were there.
So glad ya got out to play, Rich! Lotta fun!
On a separate note, I appreciated the landscape footage during the drive. My family took a road trip up to Yellowstone from West Texas when I was in elementary. One place that's always been in my memory was Bear Lake. We were going to camp there, but the mosquitoes started a blood drive the second we stepped out of the minivan so we drove to a KoA or something. I remember the water being so impossibly blue, in graduated steps. Incredible country out there, man.
My wife is from bear lake. I can vouch for the mosquitoes.
@@RichBischoff Living in the Rio Grande Valley of deep, DEEP South Texas now, I'm curious to do a mosquito comparison. They are like mob enforcers down here. I still get the occasional "bruise" bite that makes me look like a junkie injecting anywhere I can. And they stepped it up after the latest hurricane. Even wearing thick pants (in 90% humidity at 90°F) mowing the lawn out of necessity, my legs looked like I had some disease. My wife said they were just swarming me like Pigpen's dust cloud from the Peanuts comics.
Glad to see people getting out again and enjoying live music with a great band.
Back to life on the road!👍 Harley Benton sounds great and the katana better than ever.. hope this is the first of many gigs thanks for sharing this Rich!☺
Nice chops and tones!
Love these gig vlogs! You guys put together a great eclectic set list- you were smokin’ on the Blue on Black / Folsom back to back, etc. - and naturally, your tried and true rig- Tele/Katana/pedalboard. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for a great concert! Nice to see you play in a band and that Tele of yours sounded great. Love from Sweden 🌷🇸🇪
Thanks!
Loved this video. So nice to see some real life ( almost like leaving the house lol just awesome ) and hear some great playing at the same time.
Rich, I LOVE that you have both a Strymon and a Joyo on your board. I won’t lie, I struggle with the need to keep up with the Joneses. I feel the need to impress people I don’t even like 🤣😂. Thank you for the reminder that “if it sounds good, it is good.”
Welcome! 🤣
Love the Gig vids 👍🔥🎸🦅
Nice recording studio and rehearsal room, it is incredible how a guitar can sound like a harley benton telecaster with a boss katana, congratulations
Great to hear you are playing live again! The walls get boring, yeah?!?!
Great Video as always Rich!!! Was wondering how close the Iridium amp models sound to their intended fender, vox and Marshall parents when run into the katana? I ask because I have an artist mk2 and wondered if the iridium would be a good way to get closer to these classic amps sounds. Awesome to see you gigging again! You guys sound great! Cheers!
They sound pretty good, I'm not sure how close they get..., I used the Marshall model all night, just because it seems a little more punchy and up front, which is what I dig for the stuff I do.
Well done bro.
Congrats!! We also had our first paid gig in a year, Saturday night.
Nice!
17:48 can we get a lesson on how to play those arpeggios ? Or whatever your doing there. Awesome guitar playing!👍
Rich, I use pedals into a clean amp...usually a fender hot rod deluxe or a peavey classic 50. My rig is simple but that how I like it: small wah wah- tuner- OCD-chorus-ep booster(solo boost)- delay. Have you tried something similar into the Katana? Sorry for the long question.
It was fun watching this! Reminds me of the days in the early 80s in SoCal. A 4 pc. band would crowd the stage a lot of times! So much fun playing & getting people to buy drinks!!
Nice, what part of SoCal?
@@RichBischoff Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa Area. Cookoo's Nest & French Quarter were regular haunts unless we kit LA for Gazarri's & Wongs...
@@RichBischoff Orange County mostly
Whoa! That house though!
Sounds great in the live mix! It would be interesting to hear the Katana MKII/Iridium vs a Tonemaster Deluxe. The K50 is only 2 lbs heavier, and it's a ceramic magnet + class AB pwr vs. neo + class D. I'd put my money on the MKII/Iridium.
Great vid. Very entertaining, and as always.... Rich - You sounded great at the gig. You're one he11 of a player. When are you going back to Lava? The Wife and I might have to fly out.... once things get rolling again.
Maybe in April.
Great gig Rich , bet it feels good to be back out there. I wouldn't moan to much about gas prices there , a gallon of gas here in NZ is about $9.85 a gallon. You sounded a little outa tune on knockin on heavens door lol...... but hey it takes a while to get back in gig mode..... cheers for letting us all in one it ...... keep rockin dude.
The first time I've seen Rich in his native environment, stalking the plains of classic rock and blues in the wilds of Idaho. Awesome! I always loved that Dishwalla song, but the falsetto parts in the chorus have always been out of my range.
It's great that you had a gig! Nice to see Afu sing a lead vocal (how did you get him to do that?), and the clips of Haywire were great, too!
Afu loves singing now, hes a whole different Afu. He sings about a third of our set list.
@@RichBischoff As he should - he's good at it!
How much overhead does the Iridium have? My PRS Sonzera 50 is having issues and I've been looking at the Katana and Iridium as relatively low-cost replacements until I can fix my tube amp. The katana definitely has the volume but I love the Vox emulation of the Strymon. Thanks.
Dude Iridium is killer I've played stadium sized gigs with the Iridium going to front of house and the sound guy was blown away.
@@RichBischoff Can you use the Iridium as a power amp or does it have to go into something like a USB interface or soundboard? That's the biggest reason I'd go with the Katana, it's an amp and it has DI capabilities. I'm not famous enough to play stadium sized gigs yet hahaha.
@Dichroic Sounds I have a line going out to a sound board and the other going to Katana or a Marshall.
@@RichBischoff So it's basically a pre-amp if you run it into an amplifier?
well stop listening to these unlawful authorities....and tell everybody else too....the new normal is only what we allow...rock on bro
Hey Rich - Good to see you back to gigging. This intro reminded me of some sort of John Hughes film from the 80's. LOL
Question - I looked briefly at the manual on the Iridium, are you saying that you put one Output from the Iridium mono to the PA and the other Output goes to the input (back panel of Katana II) to the Katana? In addition to that; I would imagine if you really wanted on stage monitors also you could run the PA snake for the monitors too (Katana speaker volume + Stage Monitors volume) Last questions - did you put the Iridium at the end of the chain so all your pedals are in front of the Iridium? The manual said it need about 500 ma to power it, did you need to use a Doubler cable use two ports on the back of the power supply? This was a really good video; I really enjoy these live gig videos - thanks again!!
Thanks for the questions. Yes one output to iridium, one to the PA. Delay and verb were put after Iridium everything else in front. I used the power supply that came with iridium.
@@RichBischoff did you mean one output to katana input in back panel?
Yes
Thanks Rich I also have the katana 50w mk2. I enjoy supporting your channel.
All got there vaccines ? covid 19??? Sounds great Sir . when the tone isnt good iam not inspired to play. I have a katana mk2 50 and a spark positive grid 40 . katana is to much fiddeling with the tone for me. Spark 40 is better choice. Better tones. you are a raw musician. Nice job.
