    I am not sure if this gig was the right gig for the set up I was going for, I wanted to do the stereo thing, but not enough room. I ran Helix into Katanas power amp in. It felt different and didn't sound how I expected it to out front, maybe if I had more time tweaking it with the pa or front of house sound. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. what do you guys think? Also the Rona sucks and I'm tired of the BS. Hoping life goes back to normal soon... Also I played a $159 firefly guitar all night and stayed more in tune that most guitars way more expensive,

      The argument rages! Truth is for the overwhelming majority of people it really doesn't matter digital Vrs Analog, Walnut body Vs Basswood, they cannot tell the difference! Why? Because Because eardrums are like sex organs no two are exactly alike and some are better than others, some are sensitive most are not! So it all boils down to what exactly it is that God gave you in the first place! Me? Digital wears on me, it gnaws on me until I am irritable and just don't want to listen to it anymore ever again! While good analog/tube amps etc. I can listen to all day long without fatigue!I I personally can't stand the radio, TV, Digital preamps and amplifiers and I've tried and tried but it's poison to my ears! But for most people they can listen to Digital all day long and obviously enjoy it!@@RichBischoff

    I miss northern Utah in September... one of my favorite times of the year, when I lived there. Kudos to the promoter who did the right thing, even if it was frustrating. It's frustrating for _everyone_ but that's the sort of responsible action we need to see if the pandemic is ever to go away.

    Rich, just a suggestion, but on the Boss tone app, there are high and low cuts and a global eq just for the power amp in jack. Might try playing with those a bit. I am in the same boat, wondering whether the Katana will be my best option with the HX Stomp amp/cab sims. I am still tweaking and maybe thinking of picking up a Headrush FRFR-108. I haven’t decided. The Katana is an awesome amp for sure though, just not sure if it works with the Stomp as well as a FRFR unit.

      With the katana mkii, you can go right into the power amp in and keep you speaker sim on and it acts like an frfr cab. Most the sound you hear in the vid is from the PA though.

    Rich, are you using high and low cuts on the Helix? I usually do 100hz-120hz on the low side and 6khz-10khz on the high end. The low cuts get rid of the woofyness (is that a word LOL) and the high cuts will get rid of the fizz. For the highs I usually just roll it back until the fizz disappears. Also good IR's help a ton. I like 3 Sigma. Still need too run the cuts with IR's but you can do it within the IR itself instead of having to use an EQ block. Also do your tweaking at gig levels. Sorry if you already know all this...

    Hi Rich, hi everyone :-D I have a question, I bought a Katana 50 II due to its size and light weight for occasional playing in the cottage. Now I solve the problem of how to connect to the combo looper Ditto, Boss MT-2w, Canyon delay and chorus UC200. I haven't had time to try it yet, whether to connect the boxes in front of the main guitar combo input or to the power in socket. It's about how to tune the corrections, bass, treble when I play the power in input. Do you need another box, eg an equalizer in a row? Or is a correction on MT2 enough? Or do you recommend connecting to the main input of the combo to take advantage of the combo preamp correction? I do not want to buy other possible devices if it is not necessary, such as Orange terror stamp, multiefekt .. How to do it, please advise :-D (excuse my g. english).

    • @RichBischoff
      @RichBischoff  3 роки тому +1

      Just go into the direct input on the clean amp channel and use the eq on the amp. The only reason you would want to use the power amp in, is if you were using cabinet IRs with something like Helix etc.

      @@RichBischoff Hi Rich, please, for some advice, to the previous question: I have Katana for the occasional play for myself, I no longer play in public. I was thinking of connecting a Boss MT2w, Canyon delay, chorus and ditto looper + Mooer to Katana. We have already consulted that. Now I still have a problem to decide, I was thinking of returning the Boss MT2w, I can and would sell the other boxes. And instead he bought the Valeton GP100 or NUX MG300? What do you think, it will be better to make a small pedalboard out of boxes or should I replace it with Valeton or Nux for comfort. Perhaps the sound of Valeton/N would be ok .. Why am I solving this, because of the looper ..Thanks a lot for the opinion and health from the city of beer Pilsen in the Czech Republic.

      @@RichBischoff As far as I know they aren't available in the UK but I'm curious now if they are sold under a different name. You know, same factory different seller type thing. My "335" is a harley benton but I wouldn't mind adding a firefly to the stable based on that.

    Hey Rich, I agree with you. it sounded thin and fizzy to me, good but not your best sound I've heard from you. And yes, maybe more time with tweaking would help. But as you know, we don't always get the time to do that. But cheers to being able to gig anyway, not much is happening in Northern Arizona

    I have the Helix LT and the Katana MKII 100, I tried the helix into the Katana power amp in when I first got the Katana. I gave it good go, existing patches, created a new patch etc and NO!
    I also have the power cab 112 plus and it’s night and day when compared to using the Kat as a powered speaker. Using the Katana with my helix made the helix sound dead in comparison. TBH my 12” EV PA speaker sounds much better than the Katana with the helix. However I think the Katana on its own sounds great, not as nice as the helix but still good. My advice, get a line 6 powercab 112/212 plus you won’t look back 😁

    Rich, your sound is fine but the whole band sound was awful. No offence, typical gig where I would have died of boredom and frustration. That's why I never gave it up and became a public servant. And, yes, I'd like some cake too! Love your channel.
