    I just did this in my 2010 camry. This is by far the best and most accurate video out there for this process. A big thank you to the creator of this video. For the average DIY mechanic, such as myself, I highly recommend setting aside a day for this if you're going to tackle it and just realize it's going to take patience to knock it out. It's indeed a very frustrating placement of such a simple valve.

    Thank you, only video that shows the pump in the way. No one believes that it is the same engine.
    But after watching this, I'll just keep toping off the oil instead. 😂
    Less of a headache.

    Thanks for doing this video. I just purchased a 2011 and was going to attempt this based on the many other videos out there without the ps pump. After I got the hose off from the top, I found this video since no other video showed the power steering pump. After watching this video, I decided this was too much work. Thanks again and you've got a subscriber now!

    I just changed mine out with the help from your video , I didn't have to remove the wheel or power steering pump or bracket but I did take the belt off to fit my ratchet in there. I used a 3/4 ratchet with a few small extension n a swivel and 19 mm deep socket. I went directly to removing the intake I bought the gasket prior to working 17171 0V010. Unbolted the intake n air box Removed fuel rail. Had to disconnect some smaller hoses n stuff that connect to the throttle body to make space for ratchet. Basically had to blindly fit the 19 deep socket on my old pcv valve with the swivel ratchet. Not gonna lie it still took me all day even without having to remove power steering pump . The hardest part was getting the old hose off it was stuck on the pcv valve. I gripped some vice grip pliers onto the hose and basically pulled for dear life lol over and over took me about 30 mins.. I also purchased a new hose prior to working on the car so i basically just agreed that ripping the old hose off the only way., I knew it would be stubborn. 12262-36020 is the part number for the hose , you were completely right my old hose was so stiff and hard u couldn't even bend it which is why it wouldn't come off easy . I hope that's it for all the trips to autozone for oil 1 week after oil change 🤦🏾‍♂️

      The car does run better and stronger , but oil does still show up low. I also change my oil pan n toyota silicon gasket . My motor is totally dry on bottom top also . As far as I'm concerned the motor is just burning oil and that is why toyota says its normal so guys ya gotta add oil every couple thousand miles

    I have the same car so I looked up the procedure in Alldata. It mentions that the "tumble control valves", whatever those are, may be damaged if they are not closed before removing the intake manifold. To close them, 12V and ground must be applied to their connector terminals and only for 1-3 seconds. No idea what they're referring to but I wanted to get the info out there in case someone is going to diy. They also have you remove the wiper motor, fuel rail and injectors!

    • @bryceh5115
      @bryceh5115 2 роки тому

      If you have a 2011 you are not going to be able to remove/replace the hose from the top or from the pcv connection unless you remove many components to gain room. I advise against doing this job as it's too much trouble for DIYers and too expensive to take it to a shop. Change the oil every 3k miles.
