Just new here in Vancouver, I am from Regina, SK. Thank you for the videos now I have an idea how drivers are here. Also I bought a dashcam for my own peace.
Ya good call they're a must here! Thanks for watching
The clip is meant to catch the worst cases. It doesn’t mean you will have close calls today. But for any improbable incident, as long as you repeat it long enough, it becomes a certainty.
@@AthenaCannon I bought my dashcam 2 years ago and I have 19 compilation videos of 7 to 13 minutes each and literally, and I'm not even kidding, I have 800 more clips of close calls (and 2 accidents) to be edited. I drive 260 days a year. 2 years = 520 days. 800 videos. Do the math.
@@baddriversofvancouverbc I just watched a few clips. I started driving in Toronto and I found most situations in your slips are pretty mild and you had enough time to react. If you increased your threshold of bad driving, most situations wouldn’t be made into the compilation.
I had driven 50k in Vancouver in 3 years. Had about 10 close calls so far. Each time, I slammed my brake and had stuff in my car flying. One of these times was a deer jumped out from nowhere.
That clip from cc is literally insane
This channel convinced me to buy a dashcam a couple weeks ago. Hopefully I won't get any content to send in, but I regularly drive in Vancouver so let's be real. 😂
Good call! Hahah ya you're going to get a full SD card of bad drivers lol
Is the rear camera as important as the front?
@@AthenaCannon yes, unless you do not plan on getting rear ended.
In Vancouver/Richmond/Surrey, Solid white line is a JOKE and most ppl dont even know that they are not supposed to cross them.
Driver fails to yield to oncoming giant yellow digger with its blinky light on. Vancouver confirmed.
That digger was a full blown punchline of a joke, you see it at the beginning, it disappears from view, you forget about it, and than BAM! It t-bones the car making a stupid turn.
😆🤣🤣🤦🏻
That spot where you said How many fails can you spot… Holy! I lost count!
Edit: had to rewind to get a count, it was 4 for sure and then the 5th IF you want to count the last guy but he wasn’t expecting the 4th error guy to U-turn at the intersection.
CraZy!
You can "buy" your license in Vancouver.
There was a story a few years back of exactly that. But the best way to get a BC license without doing any test is, you go to a country that has no test, yes, there are a lot of countries that you can just "buy" your license without even driving even once, and then you get it transferred or "converted" to a BC driver's license when you move here. Easy peasy car accident easy.
@@baddriversofvancouverbc yup
I’ve also heard of “family licenses” wtf does it mean
you can buy anything if you got the loot.
@@baddriversofvancouverbc this explains so much about foreign drivers around here. In India you can get your license in like 5 minutes on a closed track. Everything makes sense now.
I am brand new here and I live in Vancouver. Your vid is right on. I love your narration. Clear, concise, and relevant. Say hi to a new subscriber. 😃
I’m less concerned about the red light running motorcyclist, and far more concerned about the $1.67/L gas price. Holy shit, that is insane, how can you lower mainland people afford to drive?
if trudeau got majority last month, gas would be 2.00 right now..
If you think that’s expensive try buying a home here
Still not as closely expensive as Europe and Asia.
British Columbia must seriously consider removing both ''Beautiful BC'' and ''Best Place on Earth'' from the licenses of those who are from Vancouver, and replace it with ''I am from Vancouver, I am dangerous''.
And also, it must built a highway straight from the edge of town to both ferry terminal, for the exclusive usage of those who are not from Vancouver. It's needed.
Seriously, nobody ever, and never will invite me to visit them in Vancouver, I just won't be going close to it.
As someone from Vancouver I'm really happy to here your not coming anymore.
@@jjrossitee Don't worry, the only time I was forced to go there was on/off the ferry. I have no intention to go to Vancouver.
Nice one as usual.. Love the commentary.. This one had me think "wow, Vancouver drivers are really bad".. You guys are.. special :)
Oh we're special all right haha thanks for watching!
And I thought Australian drivers were bad drivers , Vancouver are just as bad
3:01 A Yellow Traffic Light means STOP. One ran a yellow light while another ran a red, what a good combination?
you deserve more subs, keep up the good work!
I think Vancouver has alot of drivers from HK who forget we drive on the other side of the road.
Love these videos!
Video at 8:31:
Minivan on right lane parked all awkward (same with white suv parked weird on oncoming left lane) suv on oncoming left lane doesn't turn but goes straight ahead. There are also two other cars that make iffy u-turns from awkward locations (including black sedan on oncoming left lane)
I'm in Ontario. We have our share of drivers with poor judgement, but I'd be "lucky" to see even one driver like this in 2 months.
Are people from BC just crummy drivers?
Basically haha
Yes.
having lived and driven across Canada and the US. and as someone that drives for a living (120,000km a year I drive). I can tell u hands down, not even close, alberta has the worst drivers period.
there are actually places with worse skilled drivers like parts of BC and Ontario, but the reason alberta is the worst is because u have low skill drivers that are VERY entitled and extremely aggressive. I've seen ppl in alberta block fire trucks and ambulances because they didn't want emergency services to "cut in line".
Hongcouver
I’ve driven in over half of the fifty states; as far east as the Ontario/Quebec border; Vancouver Island; even in Europe and Australia. The worst drivers I’ve ever seen on the road are in the Vancouver area. Aggressive, don’t understand the traffic laws, can’t read English signs and just plain stupid. Plus the roads here are not suited for the excessive volume of traffic. I’m moving out of here in three years. I hope I survive until then.
Well, if you allow drivers from lawless driving countries that drive on the left side to simply transfer or get "international licenses"....this is the obvious result.
At 1:10 the lamp post made me do it
In that 8:30 video, at Johnson St and David Ave intersection, I think what really happened before that was an accident on Johnson right down from there. That's why so many people changed their mind on the spot to avoid the scene of the accident. I drive by the intersection daily.
Congrats on the sponsorship!
The motorbike at 2:14 looks familiar: I saw the idiot making a slight right turn (on red light) and then proceeding through the intersection as the road rules don’t apply to him. Gotta have a cellphone ready all the time (I don’t drive recently)
@ 7:15 the same thing happened to me as the same intersection. Unreal
I have come to the conclusion that Tesla has become the "Volkswagen Beetle" of this millenium. They're everywhere now and they all look the same.
The best guy. Winter is approaching I am scared for the clips haha
I'm scared of driving out there 😅 thanks for watching
This video cures my hypotension.
Why are cab drivers so reckless? Not just in Vancouver, but in literally every country and city I've visited. Doesn't matter if it's Canada, Korea, China, USA, etc.
They're so used to driving that they stopped caring what people think 🙄
2:15 I only feel sorry for the gas price
Oh boy, being stopped last in line on the #1 is a big fear of mine, I’m pretty much expecting to die at any second.
@1:55 I see my house 😮 Nelson Ave going too Marine drive
3:55 - I live on Richmond street and there's a three way stop that NO ONE stops at. to make it worse, there's a school across the road. just waiting to see a huge accident.
10:26 Another white suv! Not to mention their right brake light is out too
09:48 I guess Lance doesn't have any brakes in his car? either that or zero awareness. totally avoidable.
I thought lance was doing on purpose, he/she did make the brake action, but decided to crash on the white CRV.
I remember trying to cross a road from Lansdowne Mall to Kwantlen at the crosswalk. I was in the middle of the crosswalk and the car decides to keep going passing in front of me. There were street lights.
does icbc just hand out licenses like candy now? WTF
Must be in Richmond lmao
Entirety of Great Vancouver is like Richmond.
Richmond's style of driving is getting more and more common. Everywhere.
The crazy things is are local MLA wants to make it a fine if you have a dash camera now crazy Vancouver leadership and the Police for trying to pass such a law . The sad thing is it’s already passed in USA in New York
Why be fined having a dashcam?
damn a lot of these are from my old neighbourhood, I guess im thankful i moved out lol
Here’s the thing with BC drivers. I don’t think the problem is BC drivers, here me out. I think it’s because of the city’s infrastructure. With majority of the driving to be downtown city driving it’s hard to actually “drive” in such low speeds. It’s like playing the piano. it’s easy to play it fast. but when you slow down and try to play it, it becomes difficult.
On top of that, you have speed cameras every few blocks compared to let’s say Ontario. With that, you have drivers paying attention to their speed, rather then their surroundings.
6:17 I was on the highway that night, the driver made it another 20 blocks from that point before almost hitting us and turning around
I wish my dash cam recorded…. 3 situations in 1.5 mths with Monday being most recent. Quite the Top 3 moments this year for me..
1) RC mall parkade: one older lady (not Asian 😂) was waiting for me to leave my stall. When I pulled out, she was blocking both sides and I couldn’t turn left to exit down to ground level. She yelled and pointed me to go other way. I yelled back. She held traffic behind her too. I decided to back into my stall, turn right and U turned around when I had space to exit the parkade…next time, I’ll just back into my stall and leave 😂.
2) Merging onto No3 road after bridge from airport. I stopped at pedestrian crosswalk when a bunch of cyclists were waiting to cross. Car behind me honks. I look back. Car honks again..Car then cuts next to me once we are on No3, had guts to look at me, then I saw them rushed to Canadian Tire. Guy waited in car at a stall for gf at the store. I pulled up to him eventually and basically stared at him with a F U look. Guy looked confused and scared.
3) Cambie+Hazelbridge Way. I’m turning left on green light signal on left lane. Tesla going straight lane decided to turn left last second and onto my lane. After honking like crazy, Tesla driver realized what they did, paused but still tried to go onto left most lane nearly causing accident with my front bumper. Gave em a loud F U scream as I drove by but could had followed em into the small mall plaza too and slapped the Tesla with my Asian hands
Get a new dashcam that will record! Haha
@@vancouversworstdrivers LoL the sim card
Also, I must say Vancouver drivers are a different breed. My second day in North Vancouver I managed to witness a street parking fender bender lol
Ya North Van is one of the most dangerous spots to drive lol
Less than 10% of Vancouver drivers understand the roundabout! You yield to the cars in the roundabout. It does not matter if they are entering from a less busy street or if they are turning left in front of you. First come, first served. Blenheim street at 29th is a perfect example. Blenheim is a busier street than 29th, but that does not give a Blenheim driver priority over a driver from 29th. I regularly get a dose of the horn if I enter from 29th slightly before the person entering from Blenheim on my left. As for turning left, I recently was driving north along Blenheim and saw traffic coming towards me on Blenheim heading south. I put my left turn signal on to go up 29th. I entered the roundabout well before any other traffic. In fact I had the front of my car now pointing toward 29th (almost fully completing my manoeuver). The other car had yet to be within 10 metres of the circle. As I put myself in front of the approaching car, they laid on the horn. They hit their brakes and continued to horn. Get your head out of your ass! All sides have yield signs people. Yield to cars in the roundabout.
More intersection cameras, please. I own two dashcams, I've only been able to install one though (I can't figure how to setup the second one for the rear).
Ya they're tricky I paid a guy to do it but it costs $150 for both dashcams.
Accidents by definition are something that was NOT avoidable. Everything else is due to not paying attention, driving like an idiot or entitlement and arrogance.
6:12. Street? That’s Highway freaking 1 in Langley.
Oh good to know! Almost looked like a major road my bad!
HAhaha. Yikes!! Just doing their best to make it to the HOV on ramp back at 202? Freaky!!!
@@thewatcher7465 hey! I captured this clip! I was changing the lane on the highway and I noticed him driving it was super quick I looked back in my mirror and thought I was just seeing things! Went back home and saw this footage and was shocked how fast the guy was going in the HOV lane wow
“A digger like this” lmao ohh Vancouver people 😂
"It happened on Richmond street, so it all makes sense now" HAHAHAHAHA DEAD
6:32 and turn your lights on !
Yup!
What you called a street at 6:03 is actually the freeway. It's Highway 1 heading east just before 216th street.
At 3:43 you concentrated too much on the truck that you didn’t pay attention to the other car coming from the left of the cammer cutting through the traffic right after taking ‘advantage’ of all the vehicles that paused for the incident.
Driving slowly, safety is the most important.
This isn’t a problem exclusive to the island... people in the interior drive like they have a bloody death wish.
You need to do a worst cyclists of Vancouver edition.
5:17 is a horrible intersection. Multiple accidents there and a lot of cars blow through the stop signs.
Yeah, stop signs needs additional tool. Install traffic lights.
@@moileung I live near there and after an accident one night, our neighbour asked the RCMP officer about installing traffic lights there.
Said something that the city looked into it but wasn’t feasible.
Nelson and Marine Drive a few blocks down use to be a 4-way stop until they installed lights there a few years back.
7:31 pedestrians wearing dark clothes in the dark are hard to see. Especially when it is raining.
Ya fair enough, although driver shouldn't have made that push with that little distance unless they knew that it was clear. Thanks for watching!
0:45. So what should the black SUV have done in order to make a safe left turn in this case?
Stop and ever so slowly turn until they know it's clear then proceed through. Thanks for watching
@@vancouversworstdrivers Thank you!
They were probably texting and drove into the sign
I am so glad that I moved from Port Coquitlam, seems as if all the shitty drivers are moving out their.
my older Jeep with steel bumpers is the only thing i drive when i have to go there. almost need to wear a hockey helmet.
7:31 I meannn they were wearing dark ass clothing.
Rhyme is cell phone destination
You should also point out that the Richmond Street you showed is not in Richmond. It's in New Westminster heading north on E 8th Ave. First clue was the blue coloured street signs. Second is the hill being climbed. 3:50
Yeah yeah yeah. We know. You must be fun at parties
@@sneakerfreak2002 TBH, this was my first video of his and I was wondering why he was saying Vancouver when many were not. I have reformed my ways. I now wear a lampshade when I go out.
What a normal day in Vancouver.
Yeah how did this happen
Do you have a perfect driving record? Just wondering
haha richmond street is in new west but ya we got our bad drivers here
as bad as the N driver was a 5:00 , not so sure RIcky should've been going considering it looked like he was behind the line when the light was already yellow
1:00 this must become a GIF!
haha so true!
Making all these videos, do you guys think there could be some changes in the rules and regulations to avoid most of these accidents? For me the rule of "turning while green when you can" is the most stupid rule ever created. Just add turn lights! and if there is no turn light, no turn. And never place the pedestrian in the same time to cross as cars turning, then you make them compete to each other.
Ricky at the 5 minute mark turned left on a red light. When you are turning left you can easily tell if the oncoming traffic is busy and esp when you are second in line its a no brainer you will not make the amber light. STOP at the line and go next time. This is "turning" in to a competitive sport to see how many cars and turn left on reds now. Very stupid~
Noticed that Tmok at 4:18 has his date set for 2024/09/17. Time traveler?
this photo show his vadamage
All good
Why does your green lights flash?
Basically means it's safer to go...once it turns stale green then it's going to turn yellow soon
@@vancouversworstdrivers It's typically for pedestrian controlled intersections where the perpendicular direction doesn't have a light, just a stop sign
Flashing green lights at intersections are there instead of yield signs. Go if it's clear. Flashing reds are like stop signs...you have to stop.
Some people deserve to be in car accidents
Get out there RS
9:46 Not the smartest move by the white SUV, but it looks like Lance was probably speeding a bit, in a school area, nonetheless.
I don't think it's a school zone on Joyce
@@vancouversworstdrivers not a school zone but like "school area" reduce speed when kids present. The one without the official speed limit
How many times “this” Has been used. Take a guess
When it comes to that firetruck crash. To me it looks like the guy who got hit could have turned his wheel hard right and at least give the firetruck as much room as possible. Tis the law no??
I would say no because his lights aren't on so their just driving casually. If his lights and sirens were on I could see your point
You don't get into a car accident.
1:10 == student driver 100%
I think half of the people in these videos come over to Victoria on the weekends and drive like idiots. Please stay on the mainland! Slow down!
Fuck. Defensive driving isn't a thing with everyone else?
2-45 🤷♂️
Man you Vancouver drivers have some really bad habits
I saw my work lol
Stay safe around there!
Yo bro
Yo buddy
Thanks the vedio now I have no sympathy for most of car accident in lower mainland
These people sure make my daily route hwy 91 become a shit show lol
Omg 😱
I hate really bad driver
"Asians" am I rite!!
100th view!
FYI - If a firefighter (truck) needs to get through - They have the right to hit, plow through, or damage a vehicle. They're NOT gonna go out and cause an accident, but I have watched them push a car out of the way. And the police ticketed the car holding up the fire truck and the insurance blamed the car blocking the fire truck as well. Same as police, they have right of way.
The lights weren't even on so it wasn't an emergency situation
🔥😎🇷🇺
I wonder if part of the problem are all of the immigrants from nations that drive on the left side of the road in Vancouver? We have our creative drivers here in Washington, but this video makes me want to stay south of Zero Avenue!
Thanks for the videos but the narration is seriously unnecessary. Just do a simple compilation.
All u turns are illegal unless posted
Really depends on the jurisdiction.
@@MaxwellAerialPhotography i had a cop tell me that all u turns in B.C are illegal unless posted
Apparently all of them are in BC if they are controlled intersections
It blows my mind how easily a Chinese person can put a vehicle on its roof in Vancouver. It's an insane skill that no other race can replicate.
