Happy 2022 everyone!
Hi
And to you!!! Hope you had a great New Years!!
I love the aggressive traffic ladies they know who's boss and aren't afraid to show it.
That lady is so cool.
@@yodowilderness She is not the hero we deserve, but the hero we need. BTW, she can thank me for capturing it. Would love to buy her a coffee for this amazing job 😄
They gotta be careful though, I remember only a few years ago one getting smoked in a hit n run, co workers organized a safe work concern protest by blocking traffic on one of the bridges. That got the message through that hitting them with your car on the job wouldn’t be tolerated real quick
@@supremebeing7834yup I remember a tree trimmer crew was setting up for cones but one of the guy sadly killed from a guy plowing into him it turn out a hit and run too but they caught the driver can’t believe that he was getting ready for a work to do and killed on impact.
That last clip was so wholesome. Happy new year, Vancouver!
Most dangerous places on earth:
#3: Death Valley
#2: Snake island
#1: Highway 1 after it snows
Also good work Paul.
swear these videos make me laugh hard but also feeds my anxiety lots with how many bad drivers out there
I hear that all the time lol
These videos make my PTSD kick in big time.
How does that Volvo XC90 get into that crash even with AWD and seemingly good tires and not much snow on the road. They didn't even seem to be going fast either .
If it's all season tires they basically stop working after 7 degrees so there's no way those are winter tires
Well the person was holding the brake the entire time and obviously they weren’t getting traction. So they slid out into the other vehicle and AWD did help them a little. I bet if they took their foot off of the brake and proceeded normally they would’ve been fine. Just the person who was behind the wheel doesn’t have the best driving skills
They decided they wanted to try and make that left turn even though it was a red light a million years before they got there. Tires had little to do with it, terrible judgment is for the most part what caused this.
1:42 that’s hilarious. I seen that too in maple ridge the same day when I was driving with my dad. We both were like huh??? had to rub my eyes to make sure i wasn’t crazy
Best way to open the new year - watching VWD 👌👌
Great video, eh? I've been following this channel for ages, and this one was your best yet!
Thanks!
People gotta be careful on the road
Love seeing your vids, keep it up!
Thanks!
4:05... my first accident happened that way. I turned left into a parkade but some lady decided it was ok to drive on the opposite side of the road. ICBC deemed her at fault (obviously), but she was mad that I didn't see her. We were in a two lane road (one lane each way)
I think this is the last video of VWDD I can watch, nothing triggers me more than watching this channel. Thanks for spiking my blood pressure ;)
Hahaha I hear that all the time 😅 love hate relationship
Up here in Prince George winter tires are a necessity and sub zero temperatures and ice are just a daily part of life in the winter. We wonder how you all manage to survive in the city with drivers like this. Thanks for keeping our ICBC rates so high Vancouver!
I am seriously exploring the option of having a petition from all of BC, except Vancouver, for ICBC to come up with a magnet type visual(like the N for noobs) to be intalled on the vehicle from Vancouver when the leave the town, so we, in the rest of BC, know to stay far.
a bus flipped into a ditch on barnet. the 160, not sure which direction, but it was a 2014 xn40
Yikes!
This snow video did not seem that severe judging by the videos. Actually living it I know this was a challenging season for many people. Great video!
Those were the best videos that were sent in but of course tons of people crashed without dashcam footage unfortunately! Thanks for watching
3:52 I live just North of Toronto, Ontario, and when I am making a left turn on a country road, I always check my rear-view mirror to see if someone is trying to pass me while I am turning left, since there is a ton of hot-headed drivers here who try to pass the moment the traffic slows down. By looking behind me, I have avoided 5 of those types of accidents the past 10 years.
Love the snow videos!
Thanks for watching them!
2:35 Unfortunately, most 'driving schools' never understand that one of the fundamentals is teaching the new driver the size of the blind zone, that large space of road surface around the vehicle which your own vehicle blocks from your vision.
This is a classic example of a driver who isn't driving by aiming up the centre of your lane (as you should) but by avoiding the barrier - and accumulated slush - on his/her left hand side. They have no idea how much space to leave. Utterly ignorant.
Next time you're driving in multi lane traffic (particularly old bridges like the Oak Street one, with narrow lanes) you'll be surprised how many drivers steer 'by avoidance', rather than by aiming accurately.
Driving school? In BC??
That must be a joke?? LOL
My driving instructor demonstrated this with cones in a parking lot (Yes in BC)
i been waiting for this
4:00 it's clips like this that I find invaluable. I'm always trying to learn the new ways you end up in an accident. I've never been involved in a collision, and I don't ever want to be!
Ya you never expect that to happen but unfortunately you always have to expect the unexpected
@@vancouversworstdrivers Situational awareness should be taught in grade 2. Look, listen, live.
"High speeds on highway 1" hahahahahahahaahahhaha
at 7:13 is the perfect drug deal!!
Heat score
It’s definitely been an interesting few weeks driving
I see the mcdonalds you got coffee bought for you is in port coquitlam, your a resident here as well ? love you content :)
We drove cars all through the 70's and 80's with bald summer tires in the winter... when winter's where winter.,. With cheap 1 tire spins only kinda cars.... No one could afford separate winter tires. Cars where just built heavy. Everywhere we went there was cars sliding around in controlled winter driving fashion. No panic hits of the brake.... no pulses of the throttle, just smooth.
In order for the suv at 3:30 to be doing a u turn at that spot, they had to have been travelling the wrong way down the street as there is no cut out for a turn there
Far as I am aware (Ontario Driver) When turning left on a two lane road, it is a shared (50/50) responsibility for the turning and a passing driver to ensure the paths are clear, if the turning car is directly in front of the passing driver before the pass maneuver starts. If the passing driver is passing multiple vehicles, it is completely the passing car responsibility to ensure no cars will turn (left) into their path.
T-bone steak had me rolling! Bahahahahahaha
what dashcam are you using? it seems like it has the best quality out of all of them
Currently using the Nextbase 622GW although I've been having some issues getting footage but I'll do a review soon!
Snow adds a new level of idiocy to the roads
Someone crashed into a fire hydrant by just slowly sliding into it. It took them 5 minutes, they could have easily maneuvered away. It was hilarious to watch.
1:52 that car in NorthVan coming off of Mt.Seymour Parkway driving wrong way likely did that thinking it would go back onto eastbound no.1 to Vancouver -common old habit, especially infrequent visitors returning to freeway! NVan recently realigned and rebuilt the entire Fern overpass there to make a straight link from the Parkway to Keith Rd.
Good point!
6:32. Are you saying that the vehicle in that lane ought to be facing the other direction (180 degrees)?
No they should have stayed in the lane to the right
Ya gotta stay sharp driving in Van!
Of course the evening your video comes out, I drop the bike + myself like a sack of potato's while hitting glare ice. I'm sure my cameras caught it in epic fashion
😮
I bet if you camped out at coast meridian and david for an afternoon you’d get enough content to make a full video in one go. What a zoo sometimes
I live near Coast Meridian and I'm always scared of walking along that road because of how dangerous it is.
The person in the black truck bought me breakfast at the McDonalds drive thru in North Vancouver In November. The cashier told me that it was his way of paying it forward.
Saw a guy in the middle of main street Winnipeg near a major intersection 6am on a sunday taking a poo on the street with people honking everywhere lol...never has a dash cam for it though.
Your videos convince me to install a dashcam. Where I live has relatively light traffic, but your videos convince me that some crazy s$%t could happen at any time and place and unless caught on video no one will believe it!
Good move! Ya when I drive in cars without one I get nervous because not only do people drive crazy they also won't admit to being at fault either! Thanks for watching
I think that was HACKSAW JIM DUGAN without the backwheel in the mullet mobile
You can do winter with all season tires just takes some driving skill you can have winter tires and still crash it’s all on how you drive. Would I recommend that no get winter tires but it can be done.
nice to see maple ridge represented. not sure why that truck was 3 wheelin it omg
because maple ridge
Why go driving in the snow?
This is from ICBC: "You cant expect lower mainland and Vancouver Island drivers to know how to brush off snow since there is not often snowfall in this area".
4:00 always shoulder check when changing lane or turning. even if there is no overtaking.
I WOULD REALLY LIKE YOUR HELP IN MAKING A VIDEO!!! in vancouver we have many busy streets, with STOP signs that separate some streets with bigger streets... AND MANY MANY MANY drivers treat these stops signs LIKE A GREEN YIELD at BEST... lets film these streets especially in EAST VANCOUVER WHERE DRUG DEALERS SPEED THROUGH QUICKLY!!!
The truck merging really close between vehicles I see that every day driving on Alex Fraser
It's so they can prove their manhood to the world. We all know why they drive large pick up trucks with oversized wheels and lift kits...
Buses were so bad it took me an hour to get from marine drive to 41st by bus IN A STRAIGHT LINE 3 of them broke down on the way up
I thought they carried chains in their buses...guess not
I gotta say this what’s happeneds when people are losing their minds and also paying attention on the road
You should of seen the idiots during the freezing rain
Whole video and all I could notice were the frickin gas prices. Damn!
My blood pressure 📈
0:24 "Know what I'm sayin?"
Typical Vancouver drivers- no preparation for winter tires.....
Vancouver has the worst, and most aggressive drivers. Also the most entitled drivers too.
There's also the entitled distracted drivers that don't proceed when the traffic light goes green.
Driver needs to send to the police that video of the pedestrian jumping into a car
I see my car in the shoppers one lmao
Good miss haha thanks for watching
I like your comment at 6:40 about the pedestrian walking across the street when she shouldn't be, figuring pedestrians have the right of way, no matter what. But Cyclists are Far Worse, feeling entitled by thinking the Red Lights and Stop Signs don't apply to them!
Yesssss drive safe
I feel like every time a cop catches an idiot driving the wrong way, they let out a huge long sigh before stepping out of the vehicle. Just "here we go again. If it's David, I'm just going to arrest him, because I can't with him anymore"
Ya cops are probably so busy handing out tickets all day
I've driven in Jerusalem and its still worse in Vancouver. Learn to drive people! WoW!
Wholly crap that move @10:22 that truck threading the needle. Brutal. Now having said that, I hate Left lane Campers!!!
Very true!
Do you know what I hate about Vancouver drivers like to go over double line, yellow and single and yellow drives me nuts 🥜
That flag lady is my hero
At 10:13 I was one of the drivers in the video, the red car where the black pick up came up and swerved into the fast lane. That pick up driver was driving like an a$$ hat before Maryhill road! I had to accelerate climbing the hill to get him off me didn't matter he almost clipped me because of his idiotic driving. The other speeding car was driving like a moron too. Welcome to the Lower Mainland!
ppl should really just buy winter tyres.....save urself the ICBC bill.
2022 is shaping out shitty
I swear only like 50% of us seem to have our licenses..
try driving in other countries you might find it's pretty tame here lol
I know when I'm tripping out on drugs the last thing I wanna do is curl up on the dividing line
😂
i love buying the guy behind mes coffee. some guy did it for me n my coworker a couple years ago n now i do it
nic vid
@6:01 is the problem with the free world... imagine he was hit??? maybe he was... and was burried in a nearby flower bed!
Truckers knows about their "blind spot" so why do they blame "the four wheelers" when merging, changing lanes or or or ??
uh, come to Toronto and watch some of our 'Canada's worst drivers'.
Shout out to Van City from Toronto Love the F outta it - For real though bro you think Vancouver has bad drivers hit up Montreal LOL.
Shoud be a prerequisite for Canadian drivers to be rated for Snow driving, these people are terrible.
The guy in van in baroque man was probably on his phone
Ayyy
3:51 Well, that fool did at least signal! But his positioning prior to the turn was wrong, illegal in fact. The idiot passing wouldn't have been able to see it, as the cammer's car blocked his view. Had they crashed, I would say 50/50 idiocy.
Though to be fair, at least he actually did shoulder check, or the crash would have been inevitable.
Hey that's how they drive back in their country, why change?
Done
AND YES HE HAD TO SHOLDER CHEK WTF AGAIN VANCOUVER REALT?I realy hope it was sarcasm
0:52 average nissan altima driver
What kind of Canadian buys coffee at McDix
It was for my fiance' haha I don't even drink coffee
because the coffee at TimmyHo's is shit
7:40 narrator definitely sounds drunk
Okay so Vancouver is the Florida of Canada.... e
Wtf!!!
Nice gesture from the F150 at the drive thru but q stupid one . Lots of people pre pay using the app so if Vancouvers worst drivers already pre paid then the gesture goes nowhere.
If you prepaid using the app, you wouldn’t be going through the drive thru…you’d be at one of the stalls…
@@kagemusha168 you're wrong. You have that option but you also have the option of going thru the drive thru and saying your name or the order code . I go thru the drive thru all the time because at least there when I get my order I can double check it , ask for ketchup etc .
ICBC driving test.......do you want a license? Congrats you passed.
Ahhh yes, the sole reason why all British Columbians north of hope pay ridiculous insurance rates
It helps to live in more than one place I think . I was raised and grew up in northern BC learn to drive in real snow . But now I have been living in the lower mainland for half of my life . And it just blows my mind how the average person doesn't understand how their vehicle is going to respond to slippery road surfaces . If you know how to drive and you do need to maybe be a little bit risky it's not that big of a deal . I could have gotten major trouble for it but I was driving a 1995 Camaro on all season tires year-round for the last 3 years . And I never got in one single accident . I wouldn't suggest it anyone else go and try driving a sports car on the improper tires in snow and ice . But the fact is not everyone can afford to have an extra set of tires for winter . Should that entire group of people be told that they're not allowed to go anywhere or do anything all winter because they are poor ?
we have much better drivers in Toronto and even better pedestrians (sarcasm)
Why do we need the commentary on what’s going to happen.
It’s like watching mojo movie clips. It ruins the experience of surprise and suspense.
What do you got against all season tires they're way more practical I don't have to change them twice a year it snows in the summer in Canada are you going to put your winter tires on for that one day and summer tires what a joke all seasons are the way to go you don't know what you're talking about
Technically at 7 degrees all seasons become useless which is why you see so many people stuck in the snow. Not sure about your driving experience but personally I have a problem when people try and drive in deep snow and ice because it's so dangerous
how bout the car on the sidewalk at 4:13
I don't see it?
@@vancouversworstdrivers 4:11 on the right
I live in the south Okanagan and have about a 45 minute commute on Hwy 97. Most people are okay dealing with the crap highway maintenance (talking to you, AIM) but the guys with their big pickups are the worst. Probably learned to drive in Alberta. Last Thursday I stayed at home - avoided the idiots and stayed warm and safe. I'm confident driving in winter conditions but absolutely don't trust anyone else when even the basic plowing (talking to you, AIM, you fucktards) doesn't get done. Stay safe, everyone.
The more third world introduced to the new world, and allowed to teach more third world drivers in the new land, the more third world the new land becomes!, this practice that is permitted by ICBC should be considered as illegal. The motor vehicle act lost in translation. Drive by brail. The rules implied by the motor vehicle act do not apply here!.
Chinese drivers? lol
HONESTLY... I WANT TO SEE
THE
RACE
of each driver.... DONT YOU?
No.
Boring.
Ah, Typical Asian driver!
