As an immigrant coming from Australia, i can tell you that Vancouver drivers are insane! Thanks for the upload. Inspired me to get a dash cam.
I don't know man, the Australia dashcam clips are completely bonkers compared to this. It legitimately looks scary to drive there.
The media and government never speak about civic duties and so the locals ignore social responsibility. The area is the subject of a movie coming up, called the 49th Parallel, which has the USA Seattle Green River Murderer and the Port Coquitlam mass murderer, killing 49 woman each. Bloodthirsty? YES!!!!!!! We show tourists a horrific welcome at the Cruise Ship Terminal in Vancouver. From Blood Alley to Gore Street, our aim is to destroy our economy and terrorize tourists. From the poo in our capital to the lack of a conscience on our streets and highways, BC is a lesson on how to trash our kids, the economy and tourism. Congratulations, dudes! Of course our business community looks the other way, just as they ignore our lawless delivery industry. Our delivery industry profits from illegal behaviour and none care about traffic laws. Last year, a couple of BC men decided to kill tourists, because we are uninterested in law, safety and conscientious communities. A tourist in Surrey would have to negotiate, gangsters, speeding parents, lawless city workers and pit bulls. Welcome to our nightmare, dudes! 1:52 Shout out to the driver in grey that almost got hit. Their reaction time was ON POINT. Most people would have most likely been hit, or ended up swerving into the parked cars.
As a Paramedic, I wish I could have a dashcam and share the video with the world. People have NO idea what to do when we come up behind them!

Used to be 2 lanes all the way up and over the viaduct, but they took one lane away to make a barriered bike lane, as you can see where the cyclist goes after making his stupid move.

ICBC is part of the problem imo. Seriously who would want an insurance provider who represents all drivers? They literally are always looking for the smallest settlement for you since they're the ones that have to pay it.

I visited Vancouver a lot in 2016 and 2017, drove on Highway 1 between Abbotsford and Vancouver a lot, very rarely did I ever see any cops, and people are often going 40 km over the speed limit. Maybe it's changed since then I don't know

Vancouver drivers are for 60% Asian drivers. I have seen several Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s with N (Novice) plates tearing around.
4:38, loving the two lane change and jumping in front of a 18-wheeler with very little notice and sort of crossing a solid white line. He must've loved that move.
Cops should have a thing where you can submit dash cam videos with peoples insane driving, and therefore get mailed a ticket or suspensions!! Great content by the way

This is why there are over 900 accidents a day in BC and why I take transit and don't drive, unless I really have to.

Where I'm from a blinking green light means oncoming traffic has a red light, so you can safely turn left. There aren't any intersections in which one street has lights and the crossing street has stop signs. The way these intersections work in BC invites accidents.
Street racing with pickup trucks is a common sight here in Alberta. The higher the truck, the faster it has to go!
lol!!! thats me on the sport bike in the hov lane. i was only going 110km which i think i was in 3rd gear at about 3000rpm. coasting really, cop gave me a warning.

largest problem is we do NOT have a driving test. IT is just a formality for you to sign papers - no test of ability. One should be able to handle a blow out at 120 kms. Parallel park in less than 15 seconds and be within 1 foot of the curb. IF not then you should not have a drivers licence. Period. Know the extremities of your vehicle. Parallel park a truck and trailer. Then you can call yourself a driver. It would lessen the amount of idiotic accidents by people that should not even have a licence.
Yup that is what it’s like. Saw the crazy pass coming at us on two lanes yesterday, have been rear ended 3 times in less than 8 months, first one wrote off my car. Tons of speeding with the streets being empty, no signalling, random lane changes, very selfish drivers, and I was run off the road on Stanley park drive by someone not looking that entered my lane, hit my now second car, and then told ICBC we didn’t have contact and there was no damage! I gotta get a camera. Oh and cab drivers are terrible. They really suck. Bring on Uber.
7:15 exact same thing happened to me and my buddy same spot. Nanaimo street, car clipped us and sent us spinning into on coming traffic. Scary. Friend literally had just bought the car and was driving it home.
Are cops in Vancouver ok with this all or care too less to issue ticket ? I don’t see tkts flying as happens in several cities of US
A lot of these drivers are from other countries with wealth tied into our housing market and casinos so the police don't want to interfere with their bosses funding if you know what I mean.

Last one, I agreed that we should never use the slow lane to passing, but I think you should talk how the slow driver drive on passing lane, FORCE others have to use another lane to pass. You on a passing lane , people like that make the most of accidents

LED dash lights, I believe, are the reason for so many people driving without their lights on. The dash lights come on even if the headlights aren't on. Back in the old days, if your headlights weren't on you dash was dark. Don't even get me started on driving with high beams on. Now Toyota has auto high beams on their cars.
I hate the civics that have the stupid bright headlights. Dunno if its their high beams on or their headlights because its always a civic blinding me.
Modern cars (including those imported from other countries) are required by law to have daytime running lights.
These are lights that are illuminated anytime headlights are not (at the front of the vehicle only) at a specific minimum brightness.
Cars driving without headlights or other daytime running lights (90s Chrysler Caravans anyone?) have had them disabled.
That means that at some point in the cats life someone decided to disable them, probably thinking how useless they were. These are probably the same people driving around without headlights.
The phenomenon of just DRLs (so no tail lights) I agree is likely caused by dashes that are always illuminated. A really good reminder that your lights aren’t on odds when you can’t see your gauges!

Vancouver doesn't have the corner on the market for bad drivers, we have our fair share of them out in Abbotsford.
How are you supposed to go from a turn lane into the bike lane if they want you to stay the closest to the curb?
The best one was in Markham. A lady literally stopped her car in the middle of an intersection, when our light was Red and she was sitting there, while everyone was honking at her to either proceed safely out of the intersection. But she decides to effn backup instead. We all just started shaking our head at her.
street racing in pickup trucks became a thing since there were decently-fast pickup trucks. Swap out the engine and transmission, and you'll see idiots street-race forklifts.

Who's ICBC going to side with? They respond with "well you should have been on the road in the first place" That actually happened to friend who used to live there and was hit. ICBC is worse than MPI here.
I am a Traffic Control Person, people who drive like this concern me. Luckily nothing has happened so far, but I am still kinda green

i worked with a few guys from Nigeria and they told me they always drive with their headlights off, so this might be the case in other countries. the Canadian government needs to do a full background check on these foreigners drivers licenses before even allowing them to drive around in our country, most of them wouldnt even pass the driving course, because they drive to slow, impeding traffic. driving here is a privilege not a right. also canada needs to start re-testing people over 60 or just every 15years.
If that person driving down the road the wrong way we’re to have hit someone I’d hope the cop would be penalized for not stopping them... what the fuck is the point in having police if they are going to ignore something like that?! I see cops ignoring speeders in Victoria all the time, it doesn’t make me feel safe on the roads...
if you break check someone then you should loose your driving licence. The Pickup race at the end also shows that you should use only right lane if not overtaking. We could see again people just blocking left lane for no reason !!

About the headlights/taillights off business. Many new cars have speedometers/dashboards that are lit up whether the lights are on or not. It's a design choice but, to me, it's a safety issue. I've even been in a car where the guy driving refused (for about 30 seconds) that his lights were off. I bet him $100 and he lost (and didn't pay me lol). It's a genuine issue, I think.
I lived in Vancouver for 30 years, moved away 2 and a half years ago, don't miss it for one second

If your license issued by a country who is the member of Vienna Convention on Road Traffic and has signed the treaty, ICBC will only ask you pass the knowledge test before you can exchange your old license to an ICBC issued license. Otherwise, you may take the road test. However, ICBC allows visitors whose expected residential period less than six months use their foreign DL to drive in BC. New immigrants, including temporary residents and permanent residents, are allowed to use their foreign DL for six months since they first entered BC. Unfortunately, the six months restriction is not enforced. I see a lot of people who has been there for a few years still use their foreign DL without any notice or inconvenience from either ICBC or police department, even if they involved in accidents.

I know there are signs and thats just not paying attention but I've never seen a no right turn sign driving here in vancouver. So to be fair the people going through that intersection, honestly I don't really blame them. Had no idea we had no right turn signs here. Thought that was only in ontario.

Also, it is illegal to pass in a intersection starting at the point of no return where the white lines go solid.
8:00 the right lane maybe 50-100meters before the signal light there looks a lot like a bike lane O_o if you ever drive by... look the sign and the painting on road you notice why.. telling you it's confusing...

there are 3 kinds of driver in vancouver, 1 the idiots who brings their driving culture to canada, 2 the morons who actually know to obey the rules but choose not to coz they feel awesome that they illegally taken advantage of other motorist to beat the traffic and 3 the impatient ones that they are actually at fault & yet they are the mad ones...and for the love of god use your turn signals...and when you do... u actually have to yield to others when switching lane, having your turn signal on doesnt mean you have the right of way
The headlight tail light issue is not a fad. It is because some older cars have DTR, but not automatic headlights.

It gets worse, BOTH lanes given a retarded stop line to make room for a bicycle stop area at an intersection.
yup, large green section between original stop line and new stop line, just for bicycles. If you stop in it in your car even with no bikes there, TICKET!!!!
