I've seen other videos of that exact same thing too; they're straight up colonizing the place now by shaming everyone around them for eating during Ramadan, even if they're not Muslim, they're comfortable enough to try and force their norms onto Britain at large now. The hilarious part is the other stereotype of random foreigner with smelly food on the bus is the counterpoint to this guy and not some Brit minding his business, this is Britain's problems encapsulated in a few seconds.

That’s not what Dev was saying in the slightest. He said that the video sounds like it’s from the UK because of the accents of the 2 people in the video and the fact that the lady pointed out that they were on an enclosed, double decker bus. Back during Ramadan I'd still hang out with my non muslim friends and we'd go get food. Ofcourse I didn't eat but I would never stop them from eating. I still hung out with them because their company was reason enough for me to be there. I enjoyed spending time with them and they enjoyed having me around.

@cp1cupcake ok, so (as far as ik i am not a muslim just have muslim friends) technically fasting during Ramadan includes food and drink and is observed by more devout/ hardline muslims however many more moderate ones drink water as it'd be unsafe to not during the very hot seasons. There are also exceptions in islam for the sick and elderly to not have to fast during Ramadan.
@@feralhiker6816 I've personally never seen anyone drink water while fasting, even in Saudia Arabia during the summer. It might be more common in other regions, but as a whole I think it's non-standard. And yeah, there are a number of things that can mean that fasting isn't obligatory for someone, such as injury, chronic illness, or even travelling. The general rule is that if it'd be hazardous to your life, it's not obligatory.

Just today, I was out and took the train. 6 hours to and fro. You bet your ass I was eating on the train. Granted, it was just sandwiches and snacks but had I had something like the woman had, I would have eaten that too. Because I guarantee you, you won't eat in a moving vehicle if you have any choice in the matter. That lady was either starving or had a really tight schedule and didn't get a lunch break. So he is essentially whining about having to smell food when he can't have any and all I can say about that is "sucks to be you"

It must be an American thing because I know of plenty who eat on the train and bus. Sometimes it is impossible to get some downtime and the train/bus is the only spot.

I think that considering the weight that Muslims tend to gain during Ramadan, it is incorrect to call it "fasting." More like "in between binges."
We got tons of muslims running around acting like skipping breakfast and lunch before binging on a Thanksgiving meal every night for a month counts as a fast.

Yeah, in med school we used to buy something quick and then grab a buss to our next class when the buildings were far apart. If we didn't do that, we would just have to go hungry all day.
Public transit in my area technically prohibits eating…I would imagine most places would. That said, I don’t think any instance of someone eating on the bus has even come close to my top fifty worst experiences on public transportation.

11:04 the George Floyd era is still relatively fresh in my mind, but it was more frustrating than cringe from my experience. I remember my Facebook feed at that time was filled with people posting either BLM propaganda or unfalsifiable accusations of racism towards everyone that wasn’t as brainwashed as them. They met her halfway, and raised her salary 50%. Then she basically got caught cyphening money from the probate fines and was recalled from office and is under investigation.
Another elected judge, who is a complete r-tard, had no ckue what she was doing. She got caught trying to post date notifications for court appearances that she forgot to send out. She also tried to hold some weird side hearings to investigate some prosecutor from the DA's office with no real cause. She was recently tried and sentenced to 18 months in prison. She did not leave the court in a dignified manner.
And then the SUPER Mayor, who got caught spending local taxpayer revenue on Vegas vacations and property purchases, is about to be ousted from office and probably sent to prison.
And as expected, all three women are screaming "RACISM"!! They are all model citizens who are being oppressed by the white man... even tho it is the black residents of the community that are carrying out these recalls and prosecutions. my other live-in experience is around when I was 10. the neighbour's hosebox was inhabited by a cat that had half or more of her litter killed due to an accident (they were in a carpet roll that got thrown off of a balcony, no knowledge they were in there until it was too late). she only trusted my father out of the whole street's families and so we took her and the kittens in until we were able to give them away. She was very territorial with him and would actively sabatoge/mark my mother's belongings :P
The only reason I don't think cats are utterly insane is because a longtime friend of mine has some very chill housecats and neighborhood cats.

So I've lived in Muslim countries before. Say what you want about the religion, but *actual* Muslims that take it seriously are not affected at all by the smell of food. They wouldn't whine about it, because they believe they're staying faithful to God.

I'm not sure about public transport rules in other locations, but in my city there's signs that prohibit the consumption of food and drink, not everyone abides though.

In Japan, there is no eating on public transit. Partly because the smell in inconsiderate, but also because if you spill it - and with bumpy roads and crazy drivers and stop-and-go and other passengers bumping each other, so the chances of spilling are pretty high - then you as the passenger are likely to just walk away and clean up nothing. At first I thought it was a bit uptight, but seriously the buses and trains are spotless.
Canadian buses often have "no open food or drink" posted, but just like most rules on Canadian transit, nothing is ever enforced.
Rules are enforced on BC's Translink system: the driver presses a button that plays a woman's lovely but authoritative voice "The consumption of food or beverages is not tolerated in a fair-paid zone." and then the driver keeps hammering the button again and again while driving the route.

"Oneself" sounds too old-fashioned so you might say "themself" instead. Not refer to someone who has a gender to use. If you're willing to use the word wife, you're willing to be "herself".
