I accidentally say that Ashley signing Taylors name on the check was plagiarism, while I should have said forgery! This was definitely something I overlooked while writing the script and during the final edit - Likely caused by my student brain misfiring lol, I will definitely correct this in a future release!

I have no problems with waiting for your excellent videos! I wonder, Mr. Stayawake,, have all these true crime videos affected your outlook on people, your mood? It has mine! But you know, if I can't trust family, friends, those I love, what's the point? it's wise to be careful, but it's impossible to live distrusting everybody.
Can I just say that I love your chnl?! I watched both uploads from today and u have one of the best formats on YT. I hope u will be able to get more help in the future and it becomes financially better for u to upload more frequently. In the meantime, I’ll continue to be a dedicated sub.
I have a suggestion for your ever growing list of possible subjects. Joseph Merlino and his victim Ellie Tran from VA Beach. TYVM!
My thoughts about this case: I would have had to have gotten at least 1 to 2 million for killing someone which will never happen in my lifetime. This woman was foolish doing this for a mere $30,000.00, wouldn't even get you a flash car. Now she won't even need a car.

No need for a 2 hour documentary. 20 min summaries are absolutely perfect

People get really weird when it comes to money . . . Best not to ever let anyone know what you have.
Exactly
Jealousy
True
Made the mistake of bragging to a roommate once about how much $$$$ I had saved up in the bank. Then he used it as an excuse to break lease and move out (he wanted to live for $200/month elsewhere) and left me in a serious financial bind. If not for finding another roomie quickly I would have had to dig into my savings.
The only people that get really weird about money are lowlife dirtbags with no drive to get it for themselves. Best to keep those simple fucks away to begin with.

I can’t believe she murdered her “friend” for $30,000!?!? Insane. I guarantee she would’ve blown through that money in a month. Beyond selfish and evil.
Not everyone who rolls with you is for you.
Let's remember that narcissistic socio-/psychopaths don't have any real friends, and there's an allegedly p*ss*-grabbing former president who openly declared he could murder someone in the middle of Manhattan and get away with it.

Spooky how there are seemingly normal people at large who are prepared to kill a friend for money and have the capacity to calmly lie about it to police, fight it in court and remain so apparently unaffected by the fact that they are a cold blooded murderer - this woman could be your co worker, neighbour or even friend!

@@Chevy3278 Yes. Taylor was a very sketchy person. A thief and serial cheater. She cheated on her husband, she cheated on her girlfriend. Of course Cassandra knew she stole the money. Some of it was in her bank account. Doesn't mean she deserved to die.

Ashley’s husband’s interview is somewhere on UA-cam and is also interesting. He had no idea of that affair nor did he believe Ashley killed her. It’s interesting in that he knew so little about his own wife’s finances. Ashely’s husband had been a police officer and was actively trying to return to work in law enforcement. He was interviewed extensively to see if he knew anything about it and it’s pretty obvious he didn’t. It’s pretty sad as he starts to realize what she has done.

Couldn't he just have pointed out that police should have explored another leads, without falsely accusing someone?
@@Philippe2008fr I believe he accused the girlfriend because they were in a relationship. The case was so strong against his client. @@CaptiivaI hope you never get jury duty because you think you know things that you actually have no clue about.
The crying could totally have been genuine even if she had been the killer. Not every murderer is a psychopath. People kill loved ones quite often and immediately regret it once reality sets in.
@@Captiiva that woman in the pink shirt looked guilty as hell, defensive body language, avoiding eye contact... and she was innocent
@@Captiiva its not that a mastermind could trick the police, its more that innocent people who cant control their anxiety appear to be guilty or suspicious when they are accused of something.
The real victim here is Taylor's ex-husband. She was actively ripping him off and using shady characters to hide her stolen money. She gets what she deserves for dealing with these criminals. But her ex-husband is probably out all the money she stole. Poor guy.
I’m absolutely hooked to your channel. Thank you
I love this channel. You guys do it right every time. Thanks guys. 👍
11:15 when he tells her "if she's at that farm, we're going to find her" it's the moment she knew it was all coming down. These investigators do this for a living. They are experts, it's their profession. It's why we should respect their efforts and hard work. It's admirable.
A blind mouse could have found her guilty.
Ray Charles saw she was guilty.
That was awesome. I like the way it all flowed. From begin to end. Nice!
glad I found this channel. Great video.
It’s actually insane hearing so many murders and absolutely horrific things happening less then an hour away but the community is good enough to leave your car running shopping

Amazing video! So glad I found this channel!
I don’t want to say that Taylor deserved to die, but as the saying goes “there’s no honor among thieves.”
Great content 💯🙏
Short and straight to the chase!!!
You feeling good on this good Sunday Stayawake thanks for the uploads bro
Thanks for all the research and the way you present the facts. I’ve subscribed and look forward to more.
Taylor stole 30k+ from her and her husband's account to prevent it from being properly split in the divorce.
When you start breaking the law, you start down a path of risky behavior, like handing over someone you don't know that well 30k+ dollars.
She didn't deserve to die, but this is exactly why you do things on the up-and-up.
It was 100k. ! 😮 she stole it and split it up among a bunch of women she knew not just this chick
This time frame is perfect. It's annoying having to sit through 40-60min videos cuz there's someone explaining EVERY LITTLE exchange of words.
Thanks for just explaining the general information we needed and just letting this video continue to play for a while
This is an amazing video great work!
I’ll never understand murder for money. What kind of soulless person cares more for $$ than a person’s life??
And not to be insensitive, but for 34k?? She was running a business, why would you risk literally everything over a relatively small windfall? But then I guess committing a murder shows that their faculties of decision making are severely impaired.
Literally hundreds of millions if not billions of people would take substantially less money at the cost of another's life. I always thought it'd be interesting to ask an expert how things got this way. Surely there's an interesting explanation for this unending reservoir of evil scum.
ASPD (antisocial personality disorder) basically they take what they want without a second thought
I always thought it's an interesting philosophical question... at what point is it okay to kill someone for money? Stay with me here... what about for 1 trillion dollars? You could save millions of lives in Africa with that. Surely my life isn't worth a trillion and if it was going to save millions wouldn't it be selfish of me to not sacrifice myself ? Or to not kill someone ? Where is the line
A lot of people. You talk as though everybody loves everybody else. That’s simply not so.
I can easily think of a dozen people who have screwed me over. Would I rather have $30,000 than see those people continue to live? Hell yes!
Really good video, had story, interrogation, court, and outcome!!! Awesome!!!
Great Job adding the verdict and jurors 👍
Pure evil just for money. My heart bleeds for Taylor and her partner
Why? If she didn’t hide money from her husband, she wouldn’t have died.
Sell your soul to the devil (money), he eventually comes collecting
@renwicka7608 that's dumb my man
Her partner is her husband. God still executed justice. The unrighteous are slain by the wicked. Many women in the world are crying out to God for a husband or for financial stability. This woman had both. She leaves her husband steals from him and goes and finds an unsuspecting lesbian to move in with!? Come on. God could have had her die in an accident or have a heart attack then no one would know how evil she Is. Take two evil people out. One dies the other is in jail, but no doubt the greater evil died. The lesser evil is in jail.
@@alejandromagnobarrasa9244
My heart does not bleed for Taylor, she's a cunt. Imagine if your wife or husband left you but first made sure to drain your bank account first. She didn't deserve to die but she was NOT a good person
Wow I just watched the interrogation video of Ashley MacArthur's HUSBAND who had no idea of what his wife did or the money given to her by Taylor and he obviously didn't know his wife, besides being a murderer was a cheating harlot who had a boyfriend on the side.. Now I feel even worse for that poor guy who by the way was a Private Investigator. The irony..Smh
Best crime page on UA-cam! Hands down!
As soon as she was complaining about her stuff being in her office rather than being worried about where she is at. Seemed guilty to me.
I’ve seen this case covered a few different times. It’s always cool to see how different channels cover it.
Although I knew most of what was covered, there were a couple new things I hadn’t (or forgot lol).
TBH I’m a fan of longer videos as I normally listen/half watch while I’m doing something mundane, BUT I enjoyed your take. Which isn’t surprising, you always come through with the good content and I will watch pretty much every video you put out.
Thanks for your time & effort in bringing the True Crime Fiends the stuff we need - I know how YT can sometimes treat the true crime community 💜
Ashley clearly looks like she is a bit crazy. She's got those eyes. She's so calm cool and collective. I feel bad for Cassandra.
you mean collected
@@DrWhom well thank you for being Douchey McDouchebag who feels the need to correct everyone’s grammar. You seem to think it shows that you are smarter than everyone else which is a Narcissistic trait. You realize people just comment. They don’t particular care about grammar when they are commenting all bullshit videos. It’s UA-cam, not Harvard. Please proceed to bite me and then go rip your internet out. Thanks for playing
Those were the eyes of a rabbit looking to flee. It was sinking in for her
Classic sociopath.
the name of the channel is stay awake and I put these on when I want to have a nap😂
Lol same I watch these while taking naps at work 😂
This channel is so perfect
I've always disagreed with characterizing this as her murdering Taylor for the money. I think it's more accurate to say that her life of lies and deceit was unravelling and being forced to admit she had used the cash to buy shit for her secret boyfriend would have been the end of the line for her. She made one impulsive decision after another and killing Taylor was a way to put off the consequences just a little longer. It also made the consequences much more severe, obviously.
Agree 100% with this assessment...it wasn't really about the money so much as it was about trying to cover up her financial crimes
The root of this evil is the money. So yes, it's about the money because without it this would not have happened.
Are you kidding?
This is a psycho killer who just needed a pretext to off someone.
I need the money... No problem, my friend trusts me enough to give it to me.
Then I'll just have to kill her!
I think you're right, but the consequences she'd have faced for stealing the money would have maybe been a year or two in prison? And now it's so much worse.
@@Smiles2U4Ever It really isn't. The Bible is just a book of Jewish witchcraft. In fact, it promotes poverty instead of wealth. I guess you want to hand your money over to Jews, am I right?
I like when you explain how detectives obtained the warrant for bank info, searched through it, figured out the check had been split into various places and all that.
Detective work must feel good to chase leads and figure out what you need to bring justice to a victim.
Awesome work!
I would always second guess myself because I would be like OMG this is unreal
@@jbear3478greed really caused all of this she stole from her husband and hid the money and then her “ friend “ stole the money from her and killed her to cover it all up … greed is an ugly thing
Her body language screams guilty. Crossed arms, leaned back, clenched jaw. The body never lies
That’s not a real saying and it’s not true at all
In this case yeah, in many no one can tell. People react different.
Bring back witch trials.
omg it's so nice to see one of these channels with out AI narrating!
Woah 2 at once!! Alright I will watch them both if that’s the challenge! Keep up the great work!
I've seen this covered on other crime channels but I really like your straightforwardness and clarity with the info. That's why I subbed to you! Great stuff my friend.
I saw the husbands interrogation and when he said this was sloppy he really meant it. She was a PI as well which makes it even crazier to me that she was so sloppy about it.
She stole $100k from her ex? Looks like karma caught up to her in a big way.
Right ? Look at all the people acting like she’s some poor little lamb. She sounded like an awful person all around who made nothing but bad decisions. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to give her a badge and gun !?
One of the the most heartbreaking yet fascinating and mindboggling cases. The interrogation, the trial. Just wild. McArthur is horrendous.
Nice format all bases covered good stuff
Loved hearing each juror being asked if this was their verdict. Let those words resonate in her mind at night.
It is sad to see relationships that were once vibrant collapse into madness and what is scary is that this is not Charles Manson but an everyday person going horrifically off the rails.
I don’t understand why Ashley even killed Taylor, if she was going to be in trouble with the courts anyway? She could have played dumb about the money and Taylor couldn’t have done anything about it. It’s insane.
if everyone thought it through completely rationally and intelligently, the murder rate would be near 0
She had been spending money that wasn't hers, forging signatures and so on. Murdering your way out of such difficulties does seem a poor way out, but we do not know what transpired in the heat of the moment. My best guess is that T threatened to tell people.
I keep thinking, she's a psycho killer who just needed a pretext for killing someone.
Ashley was an ex cop and probably would have had an old friend at the department cause problems for her.
Watching her gf’s reaction as each person agreed with the verdict was heart wrenching
Here I was thinking she was the guilty one at first. I've watched too many of these videos... Sad.
That wasn't the girlfriend, that was the defendant. They look similar but 1) the same woman is shown sitting in a similar place in the courtroom earlier in the video only you can see a microphone on the desk in front of her. So that woman was likely sitting at a council's desk. The girlfriend would not likely be sitting there. 2) The cheek bones give it away, it's the defendant.
@@mattmexor2882 what are you even talking about? why would the defendant be sitting in the audience? Cassandra, the girlfriend, was sitting behind Ashley when the verdict was read. she's wearing green.
@@LittleBeams Why did you assume I was talking about someone in the audience? I thought the comment was about the person the camera was focusing on. Frankly, I'm bewildered why you chose to say "what are you even talking about? why would the defendant be sitting in the audience?" instead of "no, not her. we are talking about the out of focus woman in the back that you can see half the face of"
@@LittleBeams And I doubt Brett thought the out of focus one was the guilty one at first, so I don't think my comment was even wrong.
Very well presented.
The video of Ashley’s husband trying to piece together what the detectives begin to lay out for him is pretty rough. Poor guy had no idea he had married an absolute monster. (Not in this video, but easily found by searching)
Detective was bold on pulling that chair. She looks so surprised. 😅 11:49
"What are your thoughts about this case?" When I was very young, my dad said something obvious, but it always stuck with me. He said, "Son, you never want to go to prison. When you go to bed at night and that cage clangs shut? You don't want to be there." I never forgot it. It haunted every stupid thing I did in high school and beyond. And I'm sure he wasn't even referencing murder. He was telling me in his own way not to be a dipshit. To think for myself and bail when stupid shit went down with my friends. Thankfully, I chose my friends very carefully, and we were never interested in stupid shit. This video confirms it. No amount of money is worth taking another life for any reason.
Smart man 🎉
Pretty straightforward with good police work
