The two who didn't commit the actual murders get charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Usually, the person who's idea it was to kill someone (Charlene) but have someone else do it, gets the largest sentence. If it weren't for Charlene, they'd still be alive. But since she testified against her ex husband in his trial, they gave her a deal. A lost of states automatically give life (or the max # of years) without parol to people who go on trail for murder & are found guilty.
Bron's role is minimal, he cooperated with investigators after the lie detector test (which are faulty at best), and also testified at the trial, so he also got a deal. It wasn't Bron's idea to kill Josh, but he was approached by them & he helped them for the murders to be carried out. The DA didn't really care about Bron that much, he had a minor role, but his testimony would be a MAJOR in the trial! And that's what the DA really wanted & he knew that. I'm surprised he even got out having been a cop! Cops/ex cops don't do well in prison!

So things could go back to "normal" where this young dad basically never got to be in his kids' life. That's not normal and it would take very extreme circumstances for society to tolerate a woman being cut out of her children's lives in that way. That's the kind of treatment you give to a convicted felon, not someone who's simply guilty of losing a woman's fleeting affection.

I firmly believe that if it is proven without doubt that a person is guilty of murder, rape or the exploitation of a child, life without parole should be the mandatory sentence. Those crimes would lessen if that were the case. This entire case was completely senseless, it derived from one slap to a child's face, that woman should have IMMEDIATELY reported the incident, taking the capture to the police instead of posting to social media, getting that baby girl to safety and walking away. Instead she USES the situation of her husband's guilt of the slap, which caused her children to be taken away, to manipulate him into murder, in turn taking herself, as well as her children's father AWAY, destroying her own children...and the mother and father from a little boy who was old enough, that witnessing this will have a lifelong effect, he is also destroyed. The man, Bron, is just as guilty, he made the choice to NOT stop this, his sentence should be life as well, after all that is what those children have been left with.
