@@edwardbrady1552 Crazy Little Thing Called Love On the Billboard Hot 100 for February 23, 1980, Queen could call themselves a No. 1 band in America for the first time. “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” which had been thwarted in its efforts to top the UK bestsellers late the year before, seized the American singles crown, and wore it for a full month.
First released as the closing instrumental on Queen's eponymous 1973 debut, the final version of “Seven Seas of Rhye” reappeared on Queen II in 1974. When released, the song peaked at No. 10 on the UK Singles chart and gave Queen their first hit.
Fun fact: Freddie loved cats and at the time of his death he had 6 cats. Roger and Freddie had an art and clothing stall in Kensington market for a couple of years which is probably where the fur coat came from. The Killer Queen that Freddie is writing about is a high class call girl. This was the first Queen song I ever heard and is still one of my favourites. Brian wrote the beautiful harmonies. I love everything about it. Thanks for reacting to it!❤
Fun fact: Freddie's original handwritten lyrics of this track sold for £279,400 and that fur coat he's wearing sold for £76,200 at the recent Freddie auction at Sotheby's.
I feel two ways about the sale / auction of Freddie's most beloved and personal items, nevertheless, Freddie loved and trusted Mary and therefore, I trust her. I believe Mary thought long and hard before deciding to have things auctioned off. In the end we are the winners because Freddie gave us his amazing, unstoppable voice and music to cherish forever and that is the greatest gift of all.
I watched every minute of that auction. It was a blast! I think I enjoyed the auctioneer the most. He was like a kid at Christmas, selling off his own toys.
Your reactions to all these rock songs are nice and meaningful. I admire your beautiful smile and movements at times you are listening to them. Thank you.
Ok. If you want to have fun listening to Queen check out extended version of “One Vision”. They are goofing around & having so much fun while making an amazing song! It’s well worth the watch seeing how you enjoy Freddie’s humor, voice & showmanship. Actually one of my favorites.
I have a vivid memory of watching Queen Bohemian Rhapsody on black and white tv on the now famous Dutch tv show Toppop when i was 4 or 5 in the early 70s. I remember hearing my first Bob Marley song on the radio a little bit later. It was Trench town Rock. I remember ABBA and I remember Carl Douglas Kung Fu Fighting. Oh, and Elton John/Kiki Dee, Dont Go Breaking My Heart.

Also, the great thing about Queen is that all 4 of them wrote number 1 hits, not just Freddie Mercury, even bassplayer John Deacon, the quiet guy, wrote some of the biggest hits like "Another One Bites the Dust", "You’re My Best Friend" and "I Want to Break Free".

Also worth noting is that “Another one bites their dust” was their most successful hit and is probably the song which best demonstrates the band’s range into other genres. Michael Jackson had surprisingly been the one who went to Freddie Mercury and convinced him to release it as a single.

Their first radio hit in the US and the first thing from them most of my buds and I ever heard. Great memory. And I agree -- their harmonies are one of a kind.
Top Of The Pops was a very popular British musical televison show between the 60s and the early 2000s, but all performances were playback. If you listen to it attentively once again, you will notice, that Freddie was harmoninsing with himself. Roger said: “Killer Queen always felt a bit special. I am always amazed at people who say "that song is too long" or "that movie is three hours long!" We live in a time of short attention spans, and we have been conditioned to that. A song should be as long as it takes to tell the story, and the same for a movie. I'm insulted when a theatrical release of a masterpiece like "Lord of the Rings" is cut down for an ignorant audience, then we see an extended version, or "director's cut," where it enhances the story greatly. A great song always ends too soon, and I'm so glad you understand that. Stacy, if you want to hear, maybe, the only song on the level of Bohemian Rhapsody ... try "The Prophet's Song" from A Night At the Opera. There is not a good representation of it live, but it's almost unknown, except to true Queen fans, but it's Brian's magnum opus. Brilliant beyond reason with a great backstory. It an equal to BoRhap.

If you really want a Queen adventure, check out the album "Queen II." In particular, check out the second side of the record. It highlights Freddie Mercury's genius as a composer. I don't hear people talk about this record that much but I think that it's the most daring work they ever did.
This is the song I fell for Queen in 1977, I was 12 then. Everything in this track is more than perfect, the album, Sheer Heart Attack is incredible. Queen is the greatest chemistry on this planet. Thank you for the great reaction. ❤
Great video. I love your reactions. Please do 'Love of my Life' from Wembley Stadium 1986. After you comment about the crowed interaction for the live-aid show, then you will love this. More, more Queen please ❤
I love seeing people react to early Queen. It takes me way way back to my teenage years 🙃 and I've never gotten tired of listening to this band because no one else sounded like Queen did. No 2 Queen songs sounded alike but so many became recognizable in just the first few notes. 4 incredible musicians 👑
Not sure if you knew, but if you use anything from _Queen Official Channel_ , you don't need to worry about copyright stuff or blocking or putting an overlay on the video. Queen (at the moment until Sony takes over perhaps, not sure yet) - Roger and Brian - love for people to share their music and videos. Brian and Roger have both talked about how they _hated_ doing _Top of the Pops_ , including this song. Live is amazing... _Montreal '86_ has a "Killer Queen"/"I'm in Love With My Car" medly and it's way fun... and hearing Roger sing like crazy while banging on drums beautifully is just a whole pleasure on its own. (Roger is pleasure incarnate.) One more teensy thing. It isn't uncommon for "Killer Queen" to be thought of as an homage to cocaine. It was THE drug of the 70s and early 80s and they partook... um... _often_ . We all intepret our own way though, right?
Good old fashioned lover boy live top of the pops 1977! One of their underrated gems but one of their best songs and a fave of mine! The lyrics the melody and harmonising are awesome! 👍👌💯🔥😎
i think the sound effect when he sings lazer beam is called "flange". if you play the same song on two turntables at exactly the same it creates this sound effect
Stacey: "This song is too short". I felt the same way. Also felt the same way about Queen's "Stone Cold Crazy" and "Lily of the Valley"; Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" and "Living, Loving Maid"; Pink Floyd's "Young Lust"; The Beatles "Her Majesty" and "Rock and Roll Music"; Black Sabbath's "Paranoid"; ZZ Top's "Tush"; Ten Years After "Choo Choo Mama"; The Guess Who's "Rain Dance" and "Albert Flasher"; and Linda Ronstadt's "Back in the USA".
As an addendum to this, it's worth mentioning that Brian May wrote "All dead, all dead" as an expression of the sadness he felt when his beloved cat passed away. I strongly recommend it but with a warning - it might evoke the feelings you had when your dear furling wandered over the rainbow bridge.
Stacey I appreciate you because of your great queen reactions, I subscribed for this👍😊 I have some suggestions: If you want a very similar song to bohemian rhapsody, you should react to "March of the black queen" from queen. That's a and legendary and hidden gem song and a very long song from queen
If you want to see Queen in drag, watch the video of "I want to break free" Hillarious! One of my favorite Queen songs is a little known Jazzy piece called "Don't try Suicide" from the album "The Game". Loved that entire album and especially "Don't try Suicide". There are no official music videos of this song, but the official Queen channel simply puts up the lyrics to the song.
They are all extremely talented. Fun fact, Brian May is not only one of the best guitar players in the world, but he also has a PhD in Astrophysics and has worked on several projects with NASA.
This is the studio version, not live. This was one of the first singles I bought (although not my first by Queen, that was Seven Seas of Rhye months earlier). Over their career Queen have covered all sorts of styles. Their first few albums were more rock/metal in style but by A Night at the Opera they introduced all sorts of unexpected styles (this was the album with Bohemian Rhapsody, although this is not the best song on the album)
Some other great Queen tracks, some not so well known- Seven Seas of Rhye, Long Away, Let us Cling Together, Under Pressure with David Bowie, You Take my Breath Away, '39, The Prophets Song, Seaside Rendezvous, Death on Two Legs..
If you love this, you will also love Seaside Rendezvous and Lazing on a Sunday afternoon from their A Night at the Opera Album..😉Just listen to the whole album, you will love it, trust me..
Queen is the soundtrack of my childhood before i knew i liked music (queen and blues brothers) This is my favourite queen song of all time, dynamite with a laser beam amused childhood me to no end, thankfully i found terry pratchett for more similar entertainment.
With adding pop and fun lyrics to their heavy progressive rock of their early days they landed their first big hit. Also the album Sheer Heart Attack was a breakthrough for them as it was much more diverse as their previous works.
Freddie always said it was about a high-class call girl, but there have been at least a couple of Freddie's "acquaintances" in the 70s who claimed it was about them. I'm going with Freddie's explanation.
I remember Queen bursting onto the scene with this when I was still at school. I was into heavy rock at that time, and I wasn’t sure what to make of this; I didn’t even now what “Queen” meant back then, and just assumed he was singing about a sassy woman!
You should def check out Rock In Rio Blues 1985. A live improv Queen did for the 250 thousand people that attended, the Rock in Rio concert. Its mesmerizing. I think you would love it.
Love your reactions Stacey. I can see you like a good frontman and Freddie was the best. Check out Billy Idol, Rebel Yell music Video. Another great frontman with charisma and an edge to his performances. Rebel Yell was one of the most played videos on MTV back in the 80's
This song deserves one and a thousand awards, more than just that Ivor Novello, or the little British distinctions, it is a perfect song. P.S. I also love Jojo's and Killer Queen is one of my favorite references with Bohemian Rhapsody and Made in Heaven.
Only joined your channel yesterday. Fair to say Stacey you have an excellent taste in music. Keep up the good work. So many great songs from yesteryear.
3:57 That's called a Flanger (or Phaser), it plays the same audio ever so slightly out of sync and moves the timing further or closer giving that effect.
I remember when this first came out and what an odd mix it was of vintage muted sounds, acappella singing and almost a Gilbert and Sullivan style of story telling. Seems like it could be a vintage record played on an old hand cranked Victrola record player.
This has always been a favorite of mine. It's maybe my all-time favorite song. Bohemian Rhapsody gave it a run for its money but I'm going with Killer Queen.
The album, Sheer Heart Attack from which Killer Queen is from is my favorite Queen record! Though I sometimes prefer their 1973 debut album as my favorite. The other tunes from this legendary 1974 album are "Brighton Rock", a great hard rock tune! And "Bring Back That Leroy Brown". This is Queen's sequel song to Jim Croce's 1973 hit song, "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown". And then there is "Stone Cold Crazy" which is considered to be the very first speed metal song. Other tunes like "Tenement Funster" is a Roger Taylor rocker. "Flick of the Wrist" is another Queen rocker followed by "Lily of the Valley", a short relaxing piano piece. And "Misfire" which is a John Deacon original. And also, "Now I'm Here", another Queen rocker! "Killer Queen" like many of Queen's songs show off their talented vocal harmonies. What I like best about Queen is the variety of musical genres they explore and use. They are not just another glam rock band. They are my no.2 most favorite band after The Beatles. While Led Zeppelin is technically superior to Queen, I tend to enjoy more Queen songs than LZ songs. Maybe its Queen's harmonies? Because LZ does not do vocal group harmonies. And LZ is too focused on Blues rock, where as I prefer more upbeat tunes like Killer Queen, Keep Yourself Alive, Don't Stop Me Now, Great King Rat, Dead On Time, Tie Your Mother Down, etc.
50 years of Killer Que 5:37 en , wow sometimes it's hard to believe how time is flying , it's so great to see and remember how everything started for these young talented guys , Freddie , John , Brian and Roger looks so so amazing in their younger days , one of the best rock band ever ❤ , would be great to see more songs of younger days by Queen in your amazing channel , there's another song i like very much from the beggining of Queen , it's called Liar ❤ you will enjoy it ❤
"Queen is amazing! Pop and rock wouldn't be the same without them. I grew up with their music and have many memories attached to songs like "Cool Cat" and "Radio Gaga." Of course, there are too many songs that I love and all the well-known hits too. Another long journey of great music and amazing vocals! Make sure to check out "Cool Cat" - most people cannot believe that's Freddie's voice! It was written by John Deacon (the bassist) and Freddie. Cheers!"

(Roger is pleasure incarnate.)
One more teensy thing. It isn't uncommon for "Killer Queen" to be thought of as an homage to cocaine. It was THE drug of the 70s and early 80s and they partook... um... _often_ . We all intepret our own way though, right?
In my opinion one of the best songs from Queen... if not the best. Love your reactions! Good luck to you, Stacey! :)
There is a dvd of them live, at the same stadium.. it’s amazing. Love Bigdon…🤘🙏❤️❤️😎
Good old fashioned lover boy live top of the pops 1977!
One of their underrated gems but one of their best songs and a fave of mine! The lyrics the melody and harmonising are awesome!
👍👌💯🔥😎
The song is about a high class call girl. Brilliant lyrics.
i think the sound effect when he sings lazer beam is called "flange". if you play the same song on two turntables at exactly the same it creates this sound effect
Stacey: "This song is too short". I felt the same way. Also felt the same way about Queen's "Stone Cold Crazy" and "Lily of the Valley"; Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" and "Living, Loving Maid"; Pink Floyd's "Young Lust"; The Beatles "Her Majesty" and "Rock and Roll Music"; Black Sabbath's "Paranoid"; ZZ Top's "Tush"; Ten Years After "Choo Choo Mama"; The Guess Who's "Rain Dance" and "Albert Flasher"; and Linda Ronstadt's "Back in the USA".
you need to react to their song Innuendo! Imho, masterpiece just like Bohemian Rhapsody. Powerful, switches, it's just incredible!
Stacey - You may not be aware that Fred was a cat lover, I believe he had 6 at one time.
He even made a song dedicated to his favorite cat named Delilah
As an addendum to this, it's worth mentioning that Brian May wrote "All dead, all dead" as an expression of the sadness he felt when his beloved cat passed away. I strongly recommend it but with a warning - it might evoke the feelings you had when your dear furling wandered over the rainbow bridge.
Unfortunately it's a very dull song. Not Bri's best work in my view. @@MordacilAiglos-uo7oi
Stacey I appreciate you because of your great queen reactions, I subscribed for this👍😊
I have some suggestions:
If you want a very similar song to bohemian rhapsody, you should react to "March of the black queen" from queen.
Please do more Queen reactions. You are so genuine. I've been a Queen fan since 1980 when I was 7
Loved your reaction …… please continue with more Queen.
EarlyQueen… The best! Saw them many times live beginning in early 1977. Wish I saw them all the way back in 74!
Kept off number 1 in the UK charts by David Essex....
It's just nice to see a studio version from a reactor. Nice high-quality audio
I agree with your suggestion that this song should go on for 10 more minutes. I've been in love with this song since it came out.
Stacey, if you want a "longer" song, listen to "The Prophets Song"... more than eight great Queen minutes. You will LOVE it !!!
Elton John said of the song Killer Queen-It’s almost like Freddie was singing to himself,it was beautiful.
it´s a breath of fresh air. Queen is one of best Bands ever you can identify every song on the first few notes because there are so different.
Queen is the soundtrack of my childhood before i knew i liked music (queen and blues brothers)
This is my favourite queen song of all time, dynamite with a laser beam amused childhood me to no end, thankfully i found terry pratchett for more similar entertainment.
Freddie and Roger were such good friends. You should react to Roger's tribute to Freddie after Freddie's death. "Old Friends" (The Official Video)
Now watch killer queen/I'm in love with my car. Live from Montreal! The switch is unreal!
Stacey you REALLY need to watch the studio version of Somebody to Love. The harmonies will blow you away! So much better than the live version
Yes I saw that to, and yes I go with Freddie's explanation also
That one "acquaintance" who claim it was about them... 😅 doesn't really fit the description. Not. At. All. 😂
The voice that reminds a laser beam, never though about that but it makes sense!! You say interesting things, well done
Love your reactions to Queen. Love you to checkout The Millionaire Waltz. Another merry little Freddie song
I'm In Love With My Car (live Rock Montreal)!!! Under Pressure (live at Wembley)!! Breakthru!! I Want It All!! Headlong!!
This song deserves one and a thousand awards, more than just that Ivor Novello, or the little British distinctions, it is a perfect song.
P.S. I also love Jojo's and Killer Queen is one of my favorite references with Bohemian Rhapsody and Made in Heaven.
You absolutely HAVE to react to them doing "Save Me" live in Montreal.... you will not be disappointed
The song is about a high-class call girl and has been characterised as "Mercury's piano-led paean to a Moët-quaffing courtesan".[4][6]
YOU TOTALLY GET THEM!!!!!!!!!!
Boom ... Boom ... Yes Yes !! .... Boom ... Boom ... Yes Yes !!
Very , very nice Stacey.
🧞🧞🧞🍁💃🌹💃🍁🧞🧞🧞
They have many great songs their harmonies are the best.
I want it All
Ride the Wild Wind
Are 2 of my favorites.
Only joined your channel yesterday. Fair to say Stacey you have an excellent taste in music. Keep up the good work. So many great songs from yesteryear.
Welcome to the channel and thank you for supporting ❤️
3:57 That's called a Flanger (or Phaser), it plays the same audio ever so slightly out of sync and moves the timing further or closer giving that effect.
70’s 70’s 70’s 70’s
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
And LZ is too focused on Blues rock, where as I prefer more upbeat tunes like Killer Queen, Keep Yourself Alive, Don't Stop Me Now, Great King Rat, Dead On Time, Tie Your Mother Down, etc.
the lyrics are so nice...they are interesting and fun.
50 years of Killer Que 5:37 en , wow sometimes it's hard to believe how time is flying , it's so great to see and remember how everything started for these young talented guys , Freddie , John , Brian and Roger looks so so amazing in their younger days , one of the best rock band ever ❤ , would be great to see more songs of younger days by Queen in your amazing channel , there's another song i like very much from the beggining of Queen , it's called Liar ❤ you will enjoy it ❤
Have a listen to White Queen (as it began), the live version from The Rainbow. Stunning early live performance.
You've got to hear "You're My Best Friend," written by bassist John Deacon and sung by Freddie.
I love Brian May's guitar solo in this song. His guitar tone is amazing
Боже, как я хочу вернутся в то время!!! Это лучшее время из всех времён!!!
This is the song that put Queen on the map in the US back in the day!
If I'm not mistaken, this is actually a "music video" not a live performance. It's the studio audio with band miming the song.
You have to watch bohemian rhapsody…. On the first Waynes world, when there in the car❤🤘🇬🇧😎. Don. Bicester. Oxfordshire. Uk
Cheers!"
