A lot of artists have sampled Queen over the years. There's a reason. Queen is amazing, influential and you said tight. Yes. Freddie was very meticulous.
@@PJBonoVox I know what a dumb ass. The only reason it took the jury more than an hour because they had to figure out how to fill out the paperwork or it would’ve been like a revolving door. I’m sure if Queen and David Bowie didn’t sue him the next guitar riff he would try to still would’ve probably been Ozzy Osbourne Randy Rhoads crazy train😂. He was just a joke and watching him try to explain it was hilarious. Thanks for giving me a great laugh today.❤️✌️🌼
This was such a sophisticated song and so different from anything else at the time. Queen was always cutting edge. Most of the time it worked out for them but they had a couple of albums that didn't do well out of the gate but later became favorites. I guess sometimes they were just too far ahead of the crowd. I love this band, thank you for your reaction.
I just recently turned 50 years old and it gives me so much joy to see your generation experience this music for the first time the same way I once did and seeing you react at how good it is the same way I did the first time I heard it too. It really puts a smile on my face. Good vibes to you both!
As someome who is born on 2005,I really love Queen songs...I feel like every generation will love The Queen band there's no doubt about it...I'm also from Malaysia,so yeah, I feel like not many of Malaysians have listened to Freddie Mercury
Cannnot go wrong with Queen, they have some really cool heavy rockers like Sheer Heart Attack, Tie Your Mother Down and Stone Cold Crazy, so much more Queen to check out
YES! SHEER HEART ATTACK - official Queen lyric video so you don't miss a word. One of the songs that hit a moment in time for everyone - especiallyat that age. STONE COLD CRAZY live at the Rainbow 1974 (official Queen video so you get the full performance). TiE YOU MOTHER DOWN live at Wembly 1986 (the non-rain day).
Queen is Queen. You are absolutely right! Rappers have sampled from Queen from the start. (One, who I refuse to name, actually stole from Queen and ended up paying A LOT for that “mistake.”) I literally wish I had a nickel for every time I have watched a reaction video by someone who usually listens to rap and they’ve said that they don’t know Queen and have never heard them….just to realize that they recognize Queen’s music and have heard it everywhere including in some of their favorite rap songs. What really cracks me up is when the reactor thinks that Queen stole the bars from the rapper! 🤣 Would probably need a time machine for that to happen! Thanks for this Queen reaction; glad you are continuing to react to their work!
Who wants to live forever, you're my best friend , play the game and love of my life are all worth checking out. I believe there are live performances of all the above. Freddie was the best gone too soon.
ALL EXCELLENT SUGGESTIONS.... and there ARE live performances of all of them. For "You're My Best Friend", I only know of the performance in 1976 at Hyde Park. These were Freddies best singing years imo. Guy was a beast at this time on his vocals. Ya'll want to hear Freddie's most amazing vocal then listen to "You Take My Breath Away". IMO that song is his most beautifully done vocally and harmony. Check it out. Fun fact: One of the ways Brian May got that edgey trebbly shiney guitar sound is by the pick he uses. Most picks are hard plastic. Brian uses a metal coin. Specifically a six pence (british coin).
I’m not sure I’d say this one tops “Bohemian Rhapsody” (from the album A Night at the Opera, in 1975) but try Queen’s “Innuendo” (from the Innuendo album ,in 1991)- it’s kinda like BoRhap’s younger sister, with a basis in Led Zepplin’s mood in “Kashmir” as an inspiration starting-point (nothing covered or sampled, just kinda similar in mood) Then Queen builds an entirely different and utterly unique song with lots of transitions and surprise elements- with a strong message lyrically.

But in private they were all up in the Queen music. Queen was , is, and will remain timeless. RIP Freddie GOAT. Love your reactions both of you!
After BoRhap, my favourites are White Queen (Live at Hammersmith Odeon) - like a gothic fairytale with amazing duelling piano and lead guitar sequence - and You Take My Breath Away (Live at Hyde Park) - just Freddie alone on piano quieting down a rowdy crowd with this truly 'breathtaking' love song... Another good one one that's in a similar 'sophisticated' style to Killer Queen is My Melancholy Blues (Live at Houston) Would love to see you react to any of those.. Oh, and did you already do Somebody to Love (Live at Montreal)? If not, you should! - Gospel influenced, Freddie on fire and the whole band on top form... :-)
Definitely one of my top three Queen songs. That being said, my favorite Queen song is "Princes of the Universe, from the movie Highlander in 1986. It's not one of their more famous songs, but is a damn good song. Very much worth checking out.
Everytime someone mentions this film, I have to add ONE YEAR OF LOVE. Just on the radio in the movie, but when you hear those scorching vocals, it really hits. John & Freddie did it as a duo.
Queen hands down one of the best bands of all time. Freddie Mercury the 🐐. Pls react to - Another one bites the dust - it’s a hard life I want to break free - love of my life - I want it all - flash
This is the first song I ever heard by Queen when I was 16 in 1974. It was their first big song in America. By the mid to late 70's they had done songs like Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, We Will Rock You/We are the Champions..and on...and on💖🎼
You two are such a cool couple. I hope younger people who watch you guys takes in what it looks to respect your partner and enjoy interests together. Great react
Rapping and DJing were always right next to each other, and DJ's were always mixing older songs in new ways, even if their audiences didn't know those were old songs. Far from being odd or rare, sampling older hit music was one of the base ideas that shaped a lot of DJ, hip hop and rap. Tons and tons and tons of songs you know have their origins in older rock songs. Queen's been sampled over 60 times, and it's been covered over 100 times, and I'd bet very few people who first knew those new songs, would know their history was based on Queen.
I was about 13 when this came out, I had the 7 inch single which I played on my little stereo that looked like a briefcase. Lol. Happy days and yes QUEEN are the champions of the WORLD.
Another mind-blowing fact about Queen is that Brian May (guitarist) is also an astrophysicist. For real. "May earned a PhD degree in astrophysics from Imperial College London in 2007, and was Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University from 2008 to 2013. Love your Queen reactions! Queen have a distinctive sound that is instantly recognisable! Pls more Queen! Keep up the great work, kind regards from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
When this song came out I was a sophomore in high school and a guitar player in a wannabe rock n roll band. I tried every amplifier, effect pedal, and guitar at all the music stores I could get to trying to get Brian May's sound! Nothing came close, but I found out later that he wound his own guitar pickups (basically the guitars microphone) which gave him his own unique tone. That's one of the reasons Queen has their own unique sound.
I've often thought it would be nice to see reactors go back to a song they reacted to, but early on. Especially since they were new to the genre at the time. So I would love to see a re-reaction to bohemian rhapsody and perhaps a few other early ones too.
Introduced to Queen in high school 1973, graduated in 76. do some early Queen,. “Keep Yourself Alive“,. “Stone Cold Crazy”,. “Tie Your Mother Down”,. “Your My Best Friend”,. “Love Of My Life”, and many more.
Personally, Under Pressure is my favorite Queen song, but they have so many hits and so much influence. You can hear their songs in sports stadiums around the world, many artists sample their songs, one of their albums is the entire music soundtrack for the Highlander movie. They are untouchable, the best.
It's always fun to go back and listen/see early Queen. This was 1974..... very early Queen. This is one of my favorite Queen songs. But I've been a fan for 48 years, so I have lots of Queen favorites.....
I've got a new drinking game. Every time you say "you know what I'm saying" we take a shot.. 😉 Queen is a fantastic band, unique in their sound and not able to be replicated.
fun reaction guys This is early Queen 1974.They had a great album if people stop and took the time to listen to their 1st album they'd really like it I think you should try a song called Brighton rock if you want to hear these guys during this stage of their careers rocked really hard but always that queen sound Freddie was great amazing showman,a unique sound that no one's been able to copy glad you are doing us a few Queen songs God bless keep spreading the music around ❤️ I think your lady is awesome she gets it just quieter them some..
my favorite song by them is death on two legs. I have never heard anyone react to it. I believe Freddy wrote it about a past manager they had. I would do studio version and either display lyrics or have them handy
Who else could have written lyrics like this? Freddie was a bit more sophisticated than the other members, but he hated writing lyrics. There were/are so many briliant musicians, singers, songwriters in the world, but this band was uniqe. They were intelligent, very creative, talented musicians who stucked together for 20 years unchanged.
I've been listening to Queen since 1991 and I've yet to come across anyone who didn't like at least one of their songs. I'm sure there's haters out there, but I haven't seen or heard them. Even people who don't listen to rock music like them. It's awesome how diverse their fans are. Sidenote: Brian May built his own guitar with help from his Dad and he still uses that guitar to this day. Just in case no one has mentioned that.
So many people don't think they know a Queen song, then when you play some, they know loads just didn't know it was Queen. They really were something special, they just made hits that anyone can listen to. Nobody can work a crowd like Freddy did either.
Y'all gotta do "It's Late", "Stone Cold Crazy", "Modern Times Rock & Roll", "Dead on Time" and "Sheer Heart Attack", for some harder rocking Queen songs.
Yea... Killer Queeeeennnn!!!!!!!!!! Tq. More Queen please .... Princes of the universe, One Vision, My Melancholy Blues, You Take my breath away, In the lap of the gods revisited, the Fairy Fellers Master stroke, .... and a million more underrated Queen songs.
They had 3 volumes of greatest hits. Every band member wrote songs. Their drummer, Roger Taylor, hits the really high notes and in Freddie’s final days would back him (under-sing) during live performances.
Sampling old-school rock music was a win for everybody. Rap bands/performers got something that hits the ear of people who've never really listened to the genre before. The old-school bands, who signed contracts with no legal representation were finally able to get some residuals from their past music. I remember seeing Robert Plant & Jimmy Page play live and it was the first time they were legally allowed to play Zeppelin music after 10 years or so. Great react - both of you!
Run DMC Aerosmith “walk this way” was a big moment in rap history. Both are in the video. The first time a top rock group collaborated with a rapper. You should check it out.
You should listen to "The Show Must Go On", which is the last song Freddy Mercury sang and he did it in one take. There isn't an official video because Freddy died 3 weeks later so it is a compilation of a lot of their songs videos
Love Queen, suggest I WANT IT ALL there is just a video. Done in 89 when Freddie was sick. Brian May wrote the song. Freddie & Brian together we’re amazing. I bet you both have heard at least part of the song before. 👑
Another excellent song you guys chose Queen is beyond amazing!!! React to songs like Another One Bites The Dust Las Palabras De Amor (The Words Of Love) Seven Seas Of Rhye Keep Yourself Alive And also No One But You (Only The Good Die Young)
Great song and great reaction. Rap artists are always plundering great songs. I prefer original music. QUEEN have a extensive catalogue which remains fresh today and is often used in celebrations.
You would not be surprised how often someone says something along the lines of "this is Queen?" They have so many great songs with different sounds. They have a 3 disc greatest hits album, and I could think of another disc worth of songs at least that would have been fine to add to the collection. See they have a lot of fantastic hit songs, but their more average songs are actually really good and not just album filler.
Freddie Mercury was ridiculously talented. If you like Bohemian Rhapsody, you need to check out a rendition of the song by a group called Forestella who performed it live. Trust me it is well worth the watch.
Top Of The Pops was a British TV Show that featured pop artists! Mandatory lip sync to be on the show which annoyed Queen to no end! But it was THE platform at the time for artists! Queen performed several songs on TOTP - Somebody To Love, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Seven Seas Of Rhye, Now I’m Here, We Are The Champions promo, Another One Bites The Dust, Under Pressure, Las Palabras De Amor, Bohemian Rhapsody promo …
The song is in reference to Jackie Kennedy, JFK’s wife. She was such a huge celebrity she’s the closest America has had to a princess Dianna or Queen Elizabeth figure. Known for being pretty, intelligent, and well mannered she held as much of not even more charisma than her husband. The song references the conspiracy that she had to do with JFK’s assassination “guaranteed to blow your mind”
That is absolutely NOT what this song is about ! Hahahaha ! The song is about about a high-class call girl, as quoted from Freddie himself in an interview: “People are used to hard rock, energy music from Queen, yet with this single you almost expect Noel Coward to sing it. It's one of those bowler hat, black suspender belt numbers - not that Coward would wear that. ... It's about a high class call girl. I'm trying to say that classy people can be whores as well. That's what the song is about, though I'd prefer people to put their interpretation upon it - to read into it what they like.”
A lot of artists have sampled Queen over the years. There's a reason. Queen is amazing, influential and you said tight. Yes. Freddie was very meticulous.

You should listen to "The Show Must Go On", which is the last song Freddy Mercury sang and he did it in one take. There isn't an official video because Freddy died 3 weeks later so it is a compilation of a lot of their songs videos
Killer song...each musician is supreme
Love Queen, suggest I WANT IT ALL there is just a video. Done in 89 when Freddie was sick. Brian May wrote the song. Freddie & Brian together we’re amazing. I bet you both have heard at least part of the song before. 👑
Queen has THREE Greatest Hits Albums.
Brian is still rocking his selfbuilt guitar and the hair today, and you should check out their song too much love will kill you :)
Gotta love Queens harmonies.
Think about this, Freddy sang Opera with 2 of the most famous opera singers and they loved it because he was so good!
This was Queens 1st real hit - this one went global and took them to the top :)
I'm curious to your reaction to some of queens very last few songs such as "only the good die young" "these are the days of our lives" "miracle" etc
Great reaction. I'd love to see you react to the first 10 minutes or so of their Magic Tour at Wembley. Man they could whip up a crowd!
Y’all becoming one of my favorite reactors. Going to check out that rap song.
This song is about a high class call girl. Love 70s queen👑👑💛💛 Freddies one hand nails painted black and Brian painted one hand nails white😂
This was the song that began their ascent to Superstardom 💫🌟
'Somebody to love' live, Montreal, Canada (1981?)
The best!!
*I had this album way back in about 1975. Great album. Only Queen song I heard prior to this album, was Keep Yourself Alive.*
Queen - The Prophet's Song. Overshadowed by Bohemian Rhapsody on the same album, but just as epic.
I enjoy watching you geek out to Queens operatic singing
The song is in reference to Jackie Kennedy, JFK’s wife. She was such a huge celebrity she’s the closest America has had to a princess Dianna or Queen Elizabeth figure. Known for being pretty, intelligent, and well mannered she held as much of not even more charisma than her husband. The song references the conspiracy that she had to do with JFK’s assassination “guaranteed to blow your mind”
That is absolutely NOT what this song is about ! Hahahaha !
The song is about about a high-class call girl, as quoted from Freddie himself in an interview:
“People are used to hard rock, energy music from Queen, yet with this single you almost expect Noel Coward to sing it. It's one of those bowler hat, black suspender belt numbers - not that Coward would wear that. ... It's about a high class call girl. I'm trying to say that classy people can be whores as well. That's what the song is about, though I'd prefer people to put their interpretation upon it - to read into it what they like.”
