This was his goodbye to us. That is what that last whispered "I still love you" is about, telling his fans that he still loves them. They all knew he was dying when they made this video. Last video he ever made and he was so I'll be could barely walk by this stage. They had to film was n short takes because he was in so much pain. I cry every time I listen to this, because I miss him and because he was so I'll and in so much pain towards the end that death was a release for him. No more pain now Freddie.

I get you, Mira. Amazing to think how long ago it was, and yet how hard it still hits.
But Freddie and Queen's music and showmanship still exist on film and sound. In a way, the Love of My Life didn't leave us. He'll always be here.

@itsmira-j I would recommend you watch the lyric video of mother love, the 'official' video is distracting. Also for days of our lives, don't watch the behind the scenes video if you get upset, it's colour and you can see how Ill the poor guy is.

The first time I saw this video I ugly cried. Such a terrible death for the messenger of the Gods. Yes, he was saying goodbye. So you're a big FM fan... so you know how he runs around all over the stage. There's a "making of" of this and you see Freddie hobbling & almost falling down the 5 steps. He moves slowly and painfully. When he talks, his voice is stuck in mezzosoprano. He is nothing but a shell of the man he was here, you can see a million miles into his eyes. So heartbreaking. Oh and all the songs from Innuendo that have music videos are done in the abstract. Black & White, claymation, sketches, extravagant costumes... all to hide Freddie's declining health & AIDS status. There are clips of this video in color and you can see how THICK the makeup is on him to cover the Kaposi's sarcoma spots.

@@itsmira-j Nooo!! I'm sorry!!! You should have seen me when I accidentally discovered Freddie Mercury.. when I was born, AIDS had just terrified the world. For too long, people thought it was a sort of 'gay cancer,' so I grew up in a world where gay people hid themselves. Terrible injustice. When I found FM, I knew he was gay but that was all. I didn't know he sang & wrote some of the most iconic songs or how good he was. Then I found out he died from AIDS. I actually went into a sort of depression.

In an interview the director of the Clip Rudi Dolezal said that Freddie was unhappy about the ending of the Clip and wanted to do that close up shot. Rudi said, that although it was obvious, no one really wanted to believe that this was really the final time. Everyone had a blockage in their heads and they always had the hope that somehow there would be a next time. But on the cutting table he realized that this was his final goodbye and done in a beautiful way. When he puts his arms and head into the air and sings 'I still love you". He is Freddie, the showman, for one last time. And when arms and head go down and he smiles for a last time, he is becoming the real Freddie saying "I still love you" to All his Fans. He was a perfectionist to the end.

This was Freddies last video with Queen. He passed away 6 months later, Nov 24th, 1991. It was his goodbye song to us all. RIP Freddie. We still love you, too. Every time I watch it since it came out in 1091 I've cried.

RIP Freddie, an unique talent and natural performer/entertainer. I think one of the things that made Freddy so special was his honesty. He did his own thing and didn't care about the haters. ❤️

You know years prior to this song Freddie sang a song for Mary Austin his ex girlfriend called Love Of My Life which if you listen to the last love lyrics of that song kinda ties up well with this song

He was so sick, and his body was falling apart. His feet were in such bad shape, he could barely walk. let alone move around a stage. Freddie is such a beautiful soul. I cry to this day, because he's no longer here to grace us with his presence. Thank you for the reaction! RIP Freddie!

This is a video that touches me every time I watch it.
Freddie had open wounds on the soles of his feet when this was filmed, it was a torture for him to do this. The director Rudi Dolezal was happy with the first take, but Freddie insisted on doing a second one - because he knew this was the very last time he’d be in front of a camera.

If you feel you can brace yourself for it, I think you should react to "No One But You (Only The Good Die Young)" which is the band's tribute after Freddie had passed, and is for all those who die before their time. And yes, you should have tissues to hand!
