  • **Please note, I no longer use and cannot recommend Dixie Belle Paint products due to highly questionable business practices, contract violations, and unethical treatment of artists and retailers that led to mine and numerous others resignations in late 2021. Please see the links below for more information. I have chosen to leave this video content up for learning purposes only, but highly recommend considering other products when trying to achieve these same techniques. There are too many good product brands on the market to support a brand with these practices. I've included links to my most used options below

    #replay…. Thank you so much for sharing how you shade with the wax and brushes. It was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Have you ever tried shading around the transfers to make them pop forward? I am going to try that with what I’m currently working on. Thanks again Brandy 😘

    • @BrushedbyBrandy
      @BrushedbyBrandy  8 місяців тому

      The edge of transfers has a tendency to collect wax, and it can make edges more visable

    Hi...I have a question....I’m watching the replay... I have always heard wax is last....so how can you spray a clear coat over wax? Just wondering what the trick is? How long do you wait to clear coat ( thought I heard you say you could spray clear coat tonight) This is the first time I have ever heard that. Gorgeous piece...love what you are doing...any advise/information would be appreciated....thanks for sharing😊k

      Good question! Dixie belle waxes are water based, so they can be used in any order with the water based clear coats. This is not the case with most other brands

    Hi Brandy
    I painted my jewelry armoire in black sand and I’m wondering which wax color I should use
    Never used wax before only the gold and silver building wax
    I bought best dang wax in black
    Would that even show up ? Or protect the furniture or do I putt gator hide on top of it

    • @BrushedbyBrandy
      @BrushedbyBrandy  3 роки тому

      Black wax would show, but would be very faint, could use white as well for a completely different look

    Brandy I know you have suggested mixing paint with gator hide or whatever your sealing with so I was wondering what the ratio is.

    Can you blend your furniture after you’ve already applied your transfer?And if not how do I remove them

    • @BrushedbyBrandy
      @BrushedbyBrandy  Рік тому

      You can paint over a transfer so long as its well attached, otherwise mineral spirits and steel wool or light heat to remove if not sealed

  • @dianesanborn6952
    @dianesanborn6952 3 роки тому

    Do you need to seal the wax on the hardware?

    • @BrushedbyBrandy
      @BrushedbyBrandy  3 роки тому

      It dries permanent after 24 hours or seal with spray lacquer for extra protection

    I tried waxing over a coat of poly acrylic. I waited three days and it rubbed right off. Does it take that long to dry? Do you always clear coat over the wax again?

    • @BrushedbyBrandy
      @BrushedbyBrandy  Рік тому

      With the poly underneath, there is nothing fircthe wax to absorb into. If its an oil based wax, polycrylic is water based and it can impact adhesion, I only too coat if it's very little wax and carefully applied
