So glad I found this video! I'm painting a side table high gloss and was getting so frustrated...The spray bottle trick made it so much easier!! THANK YOU!!!! It turned out exactly the way I wanted.
Thank you for this tutorial. I love how you explain everything in detail. I’ve learned so much from you since I started painting a year ago, hope that one day I’ll be as good as you.
Green is my least favorite color especially for large items but you somehow made this color look rich and beautiful. Love your instructions and information. You have a nice voice and kept the chatter to a minimum. Subscribed and liked !
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the sanding pad, pad saver, thick/thin sponge/foam pad, and film/paper grit tutorial at the top of the video!! So so helpful and useful info. I’d love to see you do a tutorial on woods, grooves, flat, etc with all different attachment options!! Again TY TY TY 🤩😍😎

This is crazy! I was using my surfprep today, and looked at the screens/papers and all that jazz....and had no idea what the screens were for. I thought I would definitely be looking it up on UA-cam tonight. First, though I had to watch my subscribed videos first (you and Kacha) after I came in and showered. You just happened to be explaining all the surfprep papers!! That's insane...so when I say that's exactly what I needed to see today, it's literally what I needed to see😆😆...thanks!! Sorry for the long winded comment but it blew my mind! Also...beautiful piece as always ❤❤

Hi Brandy! I’ve watched you for a long time and I’ve watched you use the Surf Pro sander. So today I bit the bullet and ordered mine and used your code. Thank you for your demonstration today. And I’m going to finish watching the rest of this video. Thanks so much for your creative work and encouragement.
Great video on getting a smooth paint finish without brush strokes. The color is beautiful and the black wax along with the gilding wax really makes this piece amazing. Also, thanks for the lesson on how to achieve a streak free finish using the gator. Thanks for a fantastic video !!
Hi Brandy, This piece came out beautiful! And thank you for this tutorial on how to use your sander.... I'm hoping Santa Clause will have one under the tree this year for me. Dee Green Port Charlette Fl.
So beautiful!! 😍 This is the first video I've seen of yours, and I can't wait to see more! I do have a question though - did you use the clear coat/sealer over the entire piece? I know you mentioned it at the end, but I wasn't too sure if you meant you finished with the clear coat on the whole thing - or just the parts that had the exposed wood/gel stain 😊 thanks again for a great video!
This is gorgeous!! Thank you for the video. I had a question. I just got a Surf Prep sander and am wondering if you use a screen or what to sand down your top? I tried several combos and then just got my orbital back out, as it was faster and took the finish off better. I want to use the Surf Prep and am having a bit of a learning curve with it. I want it to be magic for the price, but I am struggling a bit to see the magic, if you know what I mean. Thanks for any help!
Thank you for all of your content it is beautiful!!! I have a French dresser and nightstand I want to do and I have chosen a charcoal color. I am actually using Sherwin-Williams urethane paint and Benjamin Moore Kendall charcoal color. I have a desk that I am going to do in a muted pink. I do have a vision but wondering how I can really amp it up. Since the color of my furniture will be quite dark what can I do to detail it ?
If you want to combine this black wax on the edges - technique with some transfers then you would probably do first the transfer, then the black wax then a sealing, right? Or would you do a sealing underneath the transfer first and then all the other steps? I know that the transfer has to be on BEFORe the wax, that so far is clear to me. Thx!
Beautiful color! 🤩 What grit of sandpaper do you use for scuff sanding? I don't think I've ever heard you say. And how do you know if your scuff sand is good enough?

Gray Boss is just a color tinted version of clear Boss. They do the same thing: Blocking odor, and bleed through. Some paint colors do better with a colored Boss under them versus just using clear.
We’re you almost done with the piece when the client wasn’t happy with the color? Do charge more when this happens? I have some people wanting me to paint for them but do not have an idea how to charge them fairly. I realize they are supplying the pieces but it does take a lot of good products and time to do it correctly. Do you have a video on how quote prices?
Strange to me. If I want brush-free, I spray it. The whole point of hand painting is to see the hand painting. It's 10 times the work as spraying and looks twice as nice. You compare any two pieces of furniture and it's the hand-painted one that captures your eye. The brush strokes, the little imperfections--that's what catches a person's eye. Then they realize all the work that went into it and are even more impressed with the piece. I would never try and hide the brush strokes. That defeats the whole point. Remember, Ikea and Walmart don't have brush strokes.
I got a surf prep because of you! Best $500 I spent. I got a coupon code why mine was little cheaper
Where did you find a coupon code please?

I like the screens best on raw wood, use a 60 or 80 grit to strip a top, if that isn't working, may need to strip chemically first
Great video.. Thank you ❤️

So sweet, thank you
I finally get how you do that incredible dark wax technique. Big hugs of Thanks!!!🥳💃😊
Stunning piece!! What would you use to seal if your wax was an oil based wax? Thanks for a great video!!
If its an oil based wax, you would apply that last

Or would you do a sealing underneath the transfer first and then all the other steps? I know that the transfer has to be on BEFORe the wax, that so far is clear to me. Thx!
I would do transfer, wax, seal
Another option is transfer, seal, wax, seal
I see how that can work for solid colors but what if you’re blending?
I notice in some of your videos that you use a tool in the hardware holes to pull out the drawers when you need to. What tool is it that you use?
Beautiful color! 🤩
What grit of sandpaper do you use for scuff sanding? I don't think I've ever heard you say. And how do you know if your scuff sand is good enough?
Очень красиво!!!😍👍👏👏👏
I haven't seen you do white, but would you do the same dark wax for that as well? 😬
So the rad pad sanding step is different than the Dixie belle sanding sponge step
Is it necessary to use a roller with the gator hide? I have a surface that a roller would not fit into the narrow areas.
I like it for these wide open spaces, for streak free finishes, but definitely not necessary
How long do you let each coat dry before applying the next coat.
Overnight
May I ask the name of your sander and where can I get one pls I watch all your video's and still can't blend like you
It's a surf prep

Could you sodablast the paint out of those grooves too?
Yes, definitely could, but the soda is messy and time consuming
Which vacuum do you have?
Thanks for the tips ! Just curious - you don't paint the edge under the drawer but do the 3 other sides ?
If the drawers are a tight fit, adding more layers can cause them to need to be trimmed
@@BrushedbyBrandy - thanks ! I'll keep that in mind going forward.
Do you prime all your pieces? Even with Silk? Do you recommend to prime all?
No, it definitely depends on the piece whether I decide to prime
Can you use Boss with any brand of paint?
Yes
What are 3 colors you used to make this green?
Evergreen, Palmetto, and a bit if caviar to darken
@@BrushedbyBrandy THANK YOU very much!!!!
👍👍👍
Thanks Jake!
The paper is my favorite over the films too.
Yes!!
What did you use to apply boss?
A brush, the dixie belle mini
Traducción al Español, es una pena ,no entender las explicaciones
What type of roller do you use?
Whizzflock flocked rollers
@@BrushedbyBrandy thank you!! 🤩
I accidentally bought a clear boss how do I use that? What’s the main purpose of clear boss?
Gray Boss is just a color tinted version of clear Boss. They do the same thing: Blocking odor, and bleed through. Some paint colors do better with a colored Boss under them versus just using clear.
Clear would also be used when you want to distress and see the wood underneath your paint finish

I spray a lot too, but sprayers are not something everyone has, so I thought it was important to show methods for those who don't spray
