Watching the transformation is mesmerizing. I went online and located an Elite retailer. My husband always commented about the name on that business each time we drove past, wondering what kind of business it was. Now I know...Dixie Belle! I’m excited to try these transfers.
That color is stunning.
Oh boy I should have paid more attention before I did my magnolia transfer . It came out ok but it could have been better . FYI Went on a wine walk to shops in our area and low and behold "Lazy Dog Vintage" carries Dixie Belle Products . I can't tell you how excited I was.

Thank you so much for showing everything like how to get the transfer to go over the ridges and how to cut it at the drawer edges! A lot of the transfer videos floss over that.
Well, that was educational and entertaining with your husband's comments. I think it looks beautiful. I would have stopped at 36:37 and used the left over pieces to put on a lamp shade to sit on top of the dresser. This is very therapeutic watching an artist create this magical piece.

I absolutely love everything you create . You are my inspiration for painting furniture !!! I painted a beautiful table and added a floral transfer and I got so many compliments on it . But when I was asked if it was hand painted and I told them that it was a transfer they weren’t interested any longer . I am so discouraged.
Transfers can come with misconceptions, but applying them is definitely a skill and they can add value

Thanks for the video. I am super ready to apply my magnolia garden transfers onto an armoire that I've had for years. I do have to paint it first. Do you think these transfers would look better on darker paint color? Also, how long should I wait after painting it to put the transfers on? Your video was great!

This is my first time chalk painting and using a transfer. I'm re-doing a bathroom vanity. What is the best thing to use over the transfer to protect the piece in a humid area such as a bathroom? I've seen tutoria;s usings gels, waxes and poly urathane top coats. What do you suggest?

Do you need to put a top coat over your paint before you apply your transfer?
I'm working on a coffee table of my grandmother's It's a hundred years old Brandy and I would love a suggestion from you on how to finish it. I've got it Sanded down almost finished... I doubt you will are a comment over a year old post but I will try anyway. I bought the same transfer a few weeks ago and I tried it on top of a black surface and it looked horrible. There was hardly any water at all but I see that you’ve gone over this beautiful dark surface and you still have a beautiful white magnolia. is there a rule to how dark a surface can be and my next question is to ask if you’ve had any problem removing the very top coat after you get the transfer like down? I’ve done several transfers and never had a problem getting that top piece off until this magnolia one and I really struggled to get that top piece started so I can pull it off. It’s such a beautiful transfer and I hate that I’m having so many problems with it. Thanks Brandi, I love your work and I enjoy watching your videos so much… I learn a lot but also get a kick out of the interaction between you and your husband.
Some transfers are more translucent than others, this definitely is a bit translucent. Redesign with prima has a similar design that is less see through

Quick question do you top coat you’re piece before you apply your transfer then top coat again after , I am sure I have seen it both ways , great piece
It depends on the brand, dixie belle transfers do best on raw paint although it is still possible over clear coat
What is the best type of brush for blending? I want to make a I'm blended row around a off white bed

Did you seal or wax your surface before you started the transfer? Or does the transfer go over raw paint and a sealer or wax cover the transfer?

would like to start trying and wondering if you have ever tried this look.
I see the trend is going more modern 70's is and also vintage (like French Chateau look).
So I think I might like to create some fabulous one of a kind pieces to accent this look.
It's layered chipping but with more soft subtle tone rather than the rustic worn look.

Yes, some brands do better on raw paint and others over a clear coat, but its possible with all to go over clear coat
What did you do to the top? Has it been sanded and stained with a light stain? It looks gorgeous.
It is currently raw wood, just sanded down

You can use steel wool and mineral spirits to remove, but most likely it will damage the paint

Is so little wax for the decoration, if doing all over wax for protection you'd wax after the transfer
We have to have to have that color as a "new" color pre-mixed by Dixie Belle because I am horrible at mixing colors together. They all end up brown! lol Also love that your husband takes the time to help you with filming, etc. Does he have a brother? (asking for a friend, lol) 🥰🥰

What's the difference between dixie belle vs. Prima redesign transfers?
Different designs, different manufacturers. The DB transfers are a little thicker, some are more gummy. I no longer use DB at all

Is there a thing as a bad transfer? I have one that the white backing fell off when I took it out of the tube.
Was that hokus pokus? There us a such thing, but some are manufactured loosely from the backing and require extra care

Crackle needs a paint coat over it, so you'd be painting over the transfer

These new Dixie Belle transfers do really well on raw paint. I didn't put a clear coat on before I applied them.
Im sure you used a utility knife over 100x you know what your doing. For new people using one, like me, has the sense to be extra careful.. BTW beautiful piece, everything you touch😉

Can you apply a transfer on paint that has polyacrylic on it?

Actually I run my business completely by myself. I find the furniture, paint it, ship it, run my social media pages and website, edit all my own content and once a week, after working a full time job, my husband helps me on a live video to read comments so the viewers get interaction. I'm sorry you are so turned off by being a small business and a supportive family
