Hey there! You can use wax as a sealant but you may need to reapply every 6 months depending on how much traffic the piece gets. Please let us know if you have any other questions! ❤
How do we seal the gilding waxes? I had some silver on a jewelry box knob and it was coming off on my hand. I know you said they air cure but how long does that take because it had been on for at least a month but I didn’t seal or put anything over it
Can’t seem to find vids about layering waxes-but it seams from your vid like maybe that’s not really possible bc 1 wax will remove another if it’s applied over top of it? Or is that find you do if it’s cured? (I feel like I saw a vid from u on layering black & white wax, but maybe I’m wrong)
Thank you for watching. If you let the waxes cure between applications, you can layer them. Our waxes are water based, if you need to remove them just reactive them by misting water over the area and wipe it clean with a rag.
I would also like to know the answer to your question! I bought mine from a retailer that about a 40 minute drive....went to use it the next day and it was hard, I was expecting the consistency more like butter. All of her waxes in the video look soft. I also noticed a date stamped on the bottom 3/2018. I purchased mine 6/15/2020. I think my retailer has old stock. I prefer going in store, rather than shop online so I can look at all the sample pieces that this little consignment shop does with DB products. Not sure if its returnable since its opened...
Hi there April, we can suggest to slightly warm your wax up and or melt it, this will soften it. We then recommend to stir it. It should then return to the proper consistency. We hope this helps and happy painting!
Hi there Tina! We recommend you return to the retailer and discuss with them their return policy as each store is different. Dixie Belle Waxes, should be creamy and smooth, you're correct. You can also try as we recommended April and warming up your wax to soften it, and stirring it. We hope this helps and happy painting!
I went into my retailer to pick up some paint that I ran out of. I totally forgot to grab my wax that I was going to try and return .....I told my retailer about it being hard and the date on the tin and she gave me a new one. What impressed me most was her kindness. I told her I had a difficult time making it to her shop by 5pm and her being closed on Sundays. She gave me her cellphone number and told me to just let her know what I needed and she would have it ready for me. I thought I would share this as I am one happy camper who will continue to do business with her .
@@DixieBellePaint well I wasn't going to use it on the car I was going to use it inside of my grass bagger chute for my John Deere so that it would actually get grass up through the tube without the tube getting clogged up all the time. But the wax doesn't last that long at all not for that type of condition anyway but the first day it kicked ass. I put that on and then I put a spray wax on and then after that then I did a couple sprays of detailer and my tube didn't get clogged the whole time I was very impressed

Hi Kacha - Most excellent tutorial! Thanks for being so thorough and professional! Best wishes MQH :-)
Glad it was helpful!
Can you apply the black wax over gel stain?
Thanks for sharing loved the difference in the 3 colors.
We are so excited to hear you love the video Cathy! Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
Thank you, Teresa! ❤
do you apply a sealer after you wax it

You do not have to seal gilding wax or gemstone mousse, if you decide to you can use Clear Coat or Gator Hide.

My Dixie belle wax is so hard it is very hard to use. Is there something that will help with that?

What cloth exactly are you using ?
Christina, you can apply/remove wax with any brand of lint-free rags or wipes.
Can I use this on my car
Hi! We have never tested our wax on a car so we can't recommend for you to do so.

Thanks for this video! Is there a difference between big mamas buttah and the clear wax? Can you use it the same way?
Hi there! Big Mama's is used to revive and condition wood while the clear wax is used to seal a piece!
So not to seal wood?
