Their path WILL come to a bitter end the second they lose permission to use that patent. No investor with a brain would touch that situation. Why would the patent owner not renew when they're making a royalty on every sale and they're selling a bucketloads, it's literally free money for them. The patent holder isn't in this space, doesn't need to burn capital trying to start a business in this space and has every incentive to renew and keep the dollar rolling in. If anything, that is an excellent business decision, if you look at it from their point of view.

They let these guys test out the market for them at no risk to themselves. If they prove that the product is marketable and profitable, they’ll just kick them to the curb and make it themselves. That’s how business works. Don’t delude yourself.

    • @Restorationshopyt
      @Restorationshopyt Рік тому

      He has made no meaningful impact on the plastic market, nor will he. Plastics are here to stay. When people start giving them up, they see why they didn’t want to give them up in the first place. Plus, the primary alternative - paper - means deforestation, which greenies also hate, so trust me, you won’t win this game. This anti plastic fad we’re in now won’t last. That’s not an answer. How much does it cost PER LOAD? That’s the only answer that matters. My 208oz jug of Tide lasts me months and costs like $18 on sale at Costco. How much would I spend on sheets to wash an equivalent amount as that jug?

    • @ccggenius
      @ccggenius Рік тому

      @@Restorationshopyt I found the Amazon listing, and it raised more questions than it answers. The package says 50 sheets for "up to 100 loads", and further down on the page insists that there's no measuring, you just use a sheet. HOW?
      It's ~$15 for 50 sheets, 50 loads from Tide s ~$11, but 100 is ~$25 (I find it interesting that the largest size is NOT the most economical). I guess that means these are competitive... maybe. It's somewhere between 50% more expensive, or 40% less expensive.

    • @Restorationshopyt
      @Restorationshopyt Рік тому

      The question is, how many sheets do you have to actually use in the real world? Because even with Tide, the recommended amount of detergent per load only applies for those who wear lightweight dress clothes who work in air conditioned offices and never actually get their clothes dirty.
