Shark Tank US | Entrepreneur From Season 2 Is Back With LUCIDArt Product
/ sptv
This has to be the most flawless and realistic shark tank presentation/deal I’ve ever seen
yup I have to agree with you there an I have seen a lot over the years
Right they should of just gave him the 10 it was fair and almost guaranteed profit for the investor
He just wanted to blow it up more. Smart.
@@djsjmc511 15% to get a Shark is fair. Get someone like Daymond to put their name to a product and sales will go up. And his business connections are superior.
Insane that's the product, and that's the guy....we really do live in a simulation
I like how his biggest problem was that his pitch was too good. All the sharks basically went “you seem to know what you’re doing, I’m out”
i think that's just fluff for TV, there was likely another reason that was holding them back because sharks aren't above taking advantage of people. that's why they're sharks.
Bro these people have limited time just like everyone else on the planet. They all said they weren't passionate about his product. As an entrepreneur why would you WANT an investor who doesn't care for your product? That's more than enough of a reason to not invest, the only person who will probably invest in anything as long as it makes him money is probably Kevin.
@@wadewillson9220 agreed
Yeah all of the sharks became barbara
It’s because you can bye one and never bye a new one
Watching Kevin proudly show lori his drawing , along with her motherly "very nice" reaction was adorable.
He was so proud
cringe
I noticed that too lol
Tf
Lorie is a beauty
"I am in awe of your journey. You're a success. I am so proud of you and for that reason I am out" - Robert
Somewhere out there Barbara watching the pitch: _"that's my boy right there!!!"_
Best comment I've seen in a while
🤣 crazy right
He literally gave him the "we'll be in touch" speech
Loving the new spin of the Barbara comment 😭😭😭
😂😂😂😂😂
I’m amazed that almost all of them went out. He showed that he’s determined, had incredible sales and had the most reasonable evaluation that i’ve seen on the show…
Its didn't make sense to me. He had a solid business solid margins and has been on the show twice that shows determination. Well anyways solid presentation solid guy good for him on not giving up.
I thought that as well. But these pitches are an hour long, sometimes longer so says Daymon on his YT page. So something must have come up during the hour pitch that the other sharks weren't interested in.
@@JazzyMarineVet Dayton also some are just a few minutes in length so there's no way to know how long he pitched for sure. He likely came on for extra visibility. For someone to claim 70,000 buyers emails on file, know that he needed to target YT videos that teach people to draw and then claim he doesn't know how else to monetize that list is a little disingenuous. There's literally a ton of UA-camrs he could have partnered with to teach the classes he claimed he wanted a shark to help set up. Something doesn't wash with his being there
Not everyone likes to draw
@@keyquestions Cuban love to call people like that gold diggers, but for some reason he held back I mean the guys got $3 million in sales he needs to move over for a struggling entrepreneur who just mortgage his house or took his retirement to make his business work
This proves Kevin's point when people are like oh he's being mean. He moved on and did something better and it worked out probably way beyond his expectations.
How many times did Kevin go out on a deal only for that company to make 100x returns?
@@kevinliang9502 probably not often. 99% of start ups fail, its smart to be hesitant
@@Dmahmoud17 Have you watched through the seasons?
@@aaron-fauth ive watched plenty sure whats your point? do you know how every company did after he declined a deal? I cant imagine many if any made 100x returns
@@kevinliang9502 Its not really about taking all of the profitable deals. They would be swamped with work if they did. They can only handle so many at a time, so they have to be picky about it -- and not just about profit, but also being able to work them into the schedule, and enjoy working with the people, and like having the business in their portfolio, etc etc.
They can be very picky.
Barbara's answering machine message/every appearance on Shark Tank: "Hi, you've reached Barbara, I'm out at the moment"
Haha that's one of the best Barbara "I'm out" jokes I've ever heard.
hahahah that made me laugh
😂😂
Hahahahhaahhaha
best barbara joke of all time. I got seriously tired of them but this one is it.
They can laugh at Kevin but that shark drawing was solid
Exactly lol idk why they were laughing
Its better than anything i can do, not to mention kevin probably isnt an artist.
“70,000 emails?”
“Yea”
“That’s like talking dirty” 😂😂😂😂
He came on both for closure and self validation(and to the world) of 'i told you so'. Notice his body language when he accepts the deal. He does not move foward to shake the sharks hand. Hatred/humility is a great motivator.
Well said!
Hatred?
pin point true.
Sometimes pitchers can get pretty humiliated when they get mocked or criticized in some way.
Nobody does, its always the shark comes for a hug or a handshake, the shark dont just stay seated for a handshake.
Dang if he could get a smaller plastic one, maybe some funky colors, 49.99 as a kids toy I'd bet he'd double that 10 mil
James, you have read my mind. A kids version would be perfect!
Kid’s version is what I’d like, my son is 31, so it’s for ME!
Lori is such a sweetie though
The only shark to be concerned enough to ask
"Are you OK?"
It's called staged.

If we’re being honest, it was Kevin that made this guy go straight and ditch his old idea. And kudos to him as well for listening and doing something much better.
re: "If we're being honest ..." Most of us here ARE "honest," unless you need to use those meaningless words to start sentences.
@@warriormanmaxx8991i m never honest
He was smart he came in knowing what his company was worth and he and he already decided what the maximum premium he was willing to give to any shark would be and he stuck to it good for him.
Honestly, it feels like he got suckered into the 15% as 10% was a very reasonable ask and he didn’t even say “you got a deal” at the end lmao
@@johnmcclane7829 Daymond is one smart man. He knew he was the only shark in and knew he could get more than 10% that’s why he started at 20% because he knew he could negotiate higher than 10%
@@johnmcclane7829 you always pay a premium here, it's extremely rare that you don't. Knowing what premium you are willing to tolerate and sticking to it is smart.
@@dascherofficial His mistake was that he came in with 10% as his ask. Should have done 5% or 7.5% and worked up to 10%.
@@johnmcclane7829 no that wasn't a mistake that was strategy because when the sharks try to give him a haircut as they like to call it on his valuation he can come back with well I came in here with a very fair valuation unlike a lot of other people which is exactly what he did so they had to then be somewhat reasonable even though they're still going to take a small premium because it would look bad if they tried to give him a massive haircut like they do to the people who came in with unreasonable valuations on pre-sales. He made zero mistakes here perfectly executed deal for the environment he's in.

So they went from not wanting to invest in his initial product because it was too bad to not wanting to invest in his new product because it was too good. Thank goodness for Daymond. Now that's shark tank logic for you.
No, it’s just not something they are interested in. The product is niche.
to make money on investments the company needs to grow, the company has been in business for a while and has a niche market. The fish can only grow as large as the pool. And sharks like roaming the ocean.
I think he seems a little bit off, and the judges sensed that.
i think that's just fluff for TV, there was likely another reason that was holding them back because sharks aren't above taking advantage of people. that's why they're sharks.
According to Shark Tank Talks website the deal closed with Daymond, and he is still associated with the business, as of writing this comment.
If Barbara was here, she'll definitely be in. It left me in awe when most of them were out
She would’ve liked the product a little bit too much, and for that reason she would be out
@@javierlopez223 spot on
yeah I feel like Barbara would have looked at the numbers and would have made an offer. mostly she's out on other deals because of crazy evaluations.
She would have offered 25% like it's a good offer, then Damon would come in at 15% and get the deal. Then Barbara would act like he stole it. She takes lessons from our previous president lol
Honestly, this is more than art. I mean fashion designers can trace clothing or engineers can trace objects and make it better or kind or their version. So hopefully Damen might've seen thru it.
This was literally the most inspiring shark tank episode I have ever seen. I am encouraged to keep trying!
Barbara sensing someone requesting money for equity..... "You're not allowing me to say I'm out in person and for that reason telepathically... I'm out"
L
Couldn't get more appropriate than that.
I like how the sharks were pretty much like “I think your good, can’t take advantage of you and for that I’m out” lol
Sadly, that's true now that I think about it.
Unless there is existing competition in the market, I feel like this product is going to be an absolute hit, beyond it’s already impressive success. I’m tripping that the other sharks don’t see the potential in it for licensing deals, integrating into school and university syllabus eg; art, tech drawing and online/smartphone art courses like he mentioned. ✨
True that
Brilliant
Especially integrating into schools and universities cause there middle schools , trade schools , high schools , community college , performing arts schools of all levels like the money is there

Good for him man. Actually took their advice and learned from watching what other people did and now he’s a millionaire. Absolute W
I love this guy. Good on him for taking the feedback and coming back stronger!
Les made a near perfect pitch here. Like he said, he came in with cold hard locked in numbers. Not bogus projections. That's what will get A shark to buy in.
Apparently not, since all but one of the sharks went out
@@lucianoarebalo41 it's because it's a niche product mostly. Sharks like them big market products

This guy learned from his past failure and made his future a success!
Bro didn’t even say “you got a deal” Daymond was just like we’re doing this😂
I love how brutal and honest these guys are.
10:13 The realest reaction from Lori and Robert when he talks about how delusional other entrepreneurs can be with their valuation. My favorite moment from the pitch, haha.
I am so happy for this guy! Wishing him boatloads more of success!! Cool product
Just a super likeable personality.. the entrepreneur. Seems all this comes so naturally to him. Great job man.
I think he is doing great on himself
I get that getting one of them with him is huge but i don't believe he should've given up 15percent
100% of 10 million will always be 10 million. But 85% of 10 million with a 100 million potential. Can be 50 million at least
He gave up 5%, at the very least 10% was already gone. He also knew what wiggle room he had and it was the 5%. In the end, all the others bailed on him and he’s going to scale and not even sweat about what he bartered for. He also got advertisement for his product that he wouldn’t have had before. Very few times that lightning strikes in the same spot. He’s going to be more than fine and I’m happy for them.
Exactly his business is worth at least 10 million with those numbers
@@jenellife8350 he came in with a WAY too low valuation. If he had come in with an 8-10 million valuation he wouldve left with a 4-5 mil valuation easily

I can't wait to see how this goes. Awesome presentation, awesome product. I'd buy it.
“You are more than your ideas” just brilliant
I cannot believe that the sharks passed up on this without hesitation those numbers are amazing and the product is amazing as well! I'm so glad Daymond saw the value
50 dollars just to acquire a client and you can't sell any other thing after that. Looks extremely niche with not much margin to grow. But very good positive numbers though.

The first step to successful investing is figuring
out your goals and risk tolerance - either on your own or with the help of a Financial Advisor. If you can get the facts about savings and investing with a well detailed plan, you should be able to gain financial security over the years and enjoy the benefits of managing your income.
I think the pandemic have really taught
people the importance of multiple streams
of income, unfortunately having a job
doesn't mean security.
Successful people don't become wealthy
overnight. What most people see as a

result of smart work.

professional. Yes people have devoted their

those of us who haven't but are interested in
investing can simply work with them.

One of the most likable entrepreneurs to ever come on this show, in my opinion.

"Your product encourages people to become artists and it brings beauty and solace to our otherwise horribly depressing world, and for those reasons I'm out" -Barbara probably
He just donated a part of his company to a shark. Could have brought in the expertise for the courses without giving away equity. But he was impressive nonetheless.
this is so inspiring. the idea that you can be a failure, start again, and become a success is beautiful. everyday is a new day
wow I remember the car sick bib but the guy's look changed greatly
great on him for making a successful business
Mark was still a guest shark in season 2 and Lori wasn't even around yet...
My favourite episode yet, this guy is just amazing
Most people with these sales would have come on asking for $1 million for 3%. This is an amazing deal for daymond because he’s going to get his money back no problem and he doesn’t have to do much, the company already thrives.
Fantastic change. Really inspiring to see
A big part of this to me more than landing a shark were 2 things. The validation that he has now a successful product on Shark tank the 2nd time around and the other so he could have more publicity for his product. He's going to get more sales even if he didn't get a deal. Landing a shark was just icing on the cake. Good for him finally succeeding!
This is already a thing in the camera world. We've had them for a few years to deal with cameras without a fully articulating LCD, so you can see what's on your view finder while in front of the camera. It was like a cheap monitor alternative.
A lot of products are already made inventions repackaged and reimagined. Often the solution to a certain problem is already out there but simply stuck in a different field.
Damion actually has a sense of humor. How refreshing 😊
He didn’t give up from the first trial
And come up with extraordinary product
How I admire such people
Barbara is busy drawing a sign that says “IM OUT”
That’s what perseverance is all about. Dude just made it happen through will and creative thinking and hard work. Boom.
THIS DUDE IS THE REAL DEAL. WAY TO NOT GIVE UP MAN WOW!!!!
Id invest on him personally. The product might be niche, but he could run some other businesses as he’s sheer determination.
Bravo JD & Les Cookson (LUCIDArt inventor) -- I'm going to cheer for you with my contacts too!! Congratulations... Well done..
This guy is a great example to follow. Bravo!!
I'm so disappointed Mark didn't jump in on this. Great numbers. Good product. Quite "educational" since it can help with a kid's development. You can have those in art classes, beginners will love them. Mark is all about health, education and all those things right? It would have been a good fit. Plus the business is currently worth 2M.
If Barbara was in this episode she would say:"your product is very successful with a bright future and for that reason I'm out"
I find it odd that the sharks failed to see the broad customer base for this. This tool helps you learn proportions and will definitely make you a better artist. Imagine how many parents could buy this for their kids to develop their coordination. This product definitely has high promise.
This is honestly probably the best Tank clip out there!
That was flawless and savage. Congratulations to him!!!
What a great episode, seeing this guy fail and then come back and be a crazy success is super inspirational. I also loved the Daymond line at 9:43 lmao
This guy OPTIMISTIC is at it's peak, congratulations to him for that success and good luck for future.

Amazing guy. I never commented on a Shark Tank video... but this guy is the real deal.

Proud of this guy. Went back to the tank as a shark himself.
Sometimes you feel so happy for others that somehow it just gives a weird sense of hope and inspiration to oneself. This video is all about this.
