Crazy how many people are upset at us for selling something simple & fun to use at the water 🥴 Relax y’all, we’re just a small family business tryin to make a living and actually have fun doing it 😅
Robert really does have sharky moments. He lures you in with his fun personality, and then lulls you a bit with his backstory until CHOMP 'I want 35%' bahaha
Robert just makes up offers. He looks at his notebook as if he’s thinking then just comes up with a percentage on fly like he’s guessing. Where’s as other sharks do some calculations and put thought into their offers especially Kevin. I really think Robert brings nothing to the table and is the least intelligent of the group. Perhaps he’s a 1 hit wonder with his security business.
I'm surprised that they don't take the 35 percent but with conditions. Like mentorship or training on how to be a good investor. You can still sack away tons of cash and invest in new IPOs or something of that nature. I'd offer 35 percent, but I want something I can take away that will last the rest of my life. Like, what does his portfolio look like and get training on how to build and manage one. Take like 5 hours of this guy's time a week and learn from him.
When he says it's a yes or no right now, he's saying that he doesn't want them to entertain any other offers from the other sharks, he never said they couldn't counter his offer. Pay attention before you put out fake information.
Kevin gets the bad fame of being "greedy" for his various kinds of offers, but honestly it is always Robert the one that really looks for the worst offer possible whenever he has leverage
And Robert has so much ego and gets so emotional and takes things personally when an entrepreneur doesn’t want to go with him (and I mean it’s more severe than any other sharks reaction)
A $1 Million dollar valuation for a one-time purchase novelty item that's losing money already seems too high, Robert was generous and was probably going to lose money.
The company is still in business. Chill-N-Reel net worth is estimated at around 1.4 million for 2022. This business manufactures drink insulators, so beverages do not need to be kept down while fishing. This private company currently employs more than five people and is slowly expanding. The company’s founder Jake and his unique idea have also been highlighted in a few news publications.
I'm pretty sure its a strategy to get those coming on to doubt themselves, so that the sharks can get a favorable deal. That, or they genuinely didn't see much in the product.
@@lionart5230living in fl which is where they are from, I see how lots of value could sell. Just depends where your from. Here we fish more than just inlets and ocean. Sometimes small bayous with lil bs fish too
We were in Florida walking with our kids and ran into these guys. My kids love fishing, we obviously didn't bring fishing rods, so we brought 5 of them. Great novelty for the day, we fished for a couple hours off the pier, really fun impulse buy for shore line fishing.
Daymond doesn't get enough deals as it is and now when stuff comes in that's in his wheelhouse, being a fisherman, he still turns it down? Maybe Barbara has infected that chair.
IMO Daymond is the best shark on the show. He has plenty of good cash flow already. He seems to be the smartest when picking what companies to invest in.
@@davida8145 Yeah, I don't know Daymond's results but Lori knows her business better than Mark Cuban knows his. Most of Mark's money came from selling a website to Yahoo that went bust a few months afterward. His actual opinions on a lot of new technology are asinine in some cases. Lori continually gets hits with domestic and beauty products.
If it was $60+ retail, it would be a failure. It's fairly stupid and fairly useless, but it's so affordable and serves 2 purposes, a drink holder and a backup/emergency reel or even as a "gag gift", so it is an easy sell.

@@God_0f_Death Thanks for the comment! We do get that question from time to time, and it's still something we will work on, but in previous prototypes it hasn't done well because there is no pole to hold the line and keep it from breaking when a fish swims from side to side, plus it shakes the drink quite a bit. Not to mention that a spinning reel mechanism ends up making it tough to keep the Chill-N-Reel under $20. So we kept the hand-line reel, which people really love!

Its a novelty gift at a no brainer pricepoint that will trigger impulse buys. Hell I would by it time and time again just to gift it. They need to team up with a big brand fishing product and sell a package. Maybe a bait brand and you get a lure when you buy the product.
