Hi everyone, this is Sarah, founder & CEO of Curie. Thank you all so much for the kind words! I wanted to come on here and answer some of the questions in the comment section: 1) We closed the deal with Barbara (the deal with Mark fell through during negotiations). Barbara has been absolutely amazing to work with. 2) I am definitely coming back on Shark Tank one day as a guest Shark!!!! Mark my words. 3) Curie has 4x'ed since Shark Tank and we're still growing. This show has had a profound impact on my life and I am so grateful. 4) I am aware there are other natural deodorants out there, but building a successful business is not always about being first, it's about being better (in fact, some of the most successful businesses in the world were NOT first to market, they just came out with a superior product). 5) I did NOT know I was going to be filming Shark Tank that day or I would not have gone for a hike! The producers called me when I was at the top of Griffith Park Observatory, covered in dirt, and gave me 2 hours to get to the studio to film. I did not make that up. If you have any other questions, reply to the comment and I'll hop on and answer! ALSO-our Shark Tank "update" episode is airing 11/11! Tune in :)
This deal was one of my favorites to watch on Shark Tank. Just too much of motivation and inspiration. And the name of the brand along with the packaging of the product. Hope to use one some day soon! 🙌🏻
Great job and congrats Sarah! This was one of the best presentations I’ve seen on ST. I know you’ll go far with Barbara. Now that you’re no longer a solopreneur, what challenges are you facing at the next level?
If anyone is looking for an update, the deal DID close. The line is expanded into candles, sanitizers, bodywashes, apparel, etc. Curie is in Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and Anthropologie. So far it's a massive success.
All jokes aside on Barbara, watching her since the beginning of this show, she (along with Mark) mostly invests in people and not businesses. Comfy and Maine Lobsters are two best examples. She really loved both the entrepreneurs, and Comfy had no sales at all. I'm sure they will succeed together, even if this business fails one of them will hire her to oversee their other businesses. She was pretty impressive. I envy her confidence and tenacity
@@arresthillary9502 It most definitely closed and she's doing insane numbers. The product is incredible and she's expanded her line. It's in most of the big department stores now.
@@arjunholmie Laurie... actually "Lori" was just copying. I notice that...but either way for some reason people like to beat up on Barbara. I think she's just intentional and thoughtful of who, how much, and when she invests.
one of my favorite parts of shark tank is the negotiation because that’s where the entrepreneurs can really show off their business savvy. this was super super smart by her
@Travel Crawl Yeah .... she created a $2.4 million company from scratch in three years totally on her own and got two sharks on board for 10% equity. Yeah, you're right ... she doesn't know what she's doing.
This was a great one. She knew her stuff inside and out and so confident. I love how she ended up getting a deal and got 2 sharks!! So for that reason i'm IN!!!!!!
Good for her. Grafted her way and built something successful, and along the way, showed a great example of going in fully prepped with the numbers. Wish her all the success!
I love how Kevin tries to help her see the value in Daymond’s offer, and then works to keep her focused on negotiating with DJ. He’s the most authentic shark 100%
Great product, amazing pitch, and a lovely entrepreneur. I think Shark Tank needs to let us viewers on being able to help fund some of these pitches. That would be something sweet for future seasons.
This woman is so inspirational! I think Mark and Barbara will be wonderful investors in her growing company. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for these products!
I just caught myself smiling for her when she got a decent deal. And as someone having hyperhydrosis and allergy side effect w/ aluminum chlride, seeing dis clip by accident is a great advertisment. Great Job!
You know she was out in nature envisioning that moment before the call. She manifested this by dedication, a vision, and straight damn hard work! Awesome.
Update on the business - As of the first rerun date in July, 2022, there is no evidence the deal with Mark and Barbara has closed. The company is back in stock on its website and Amazon
This is false information from Rehan. She launched the product in Afghanistan and because the us army decided to exit the country, the Taliban hold her stock and they're trying to negotiate with them to get it back
Thank you for saving me the time looking it up! I thought this one was kind of odd, because I learned about aluminum in antiperspirant many years ago. Anything you put on your skin doesn't just disappear; it's absorbed through the skin & winds up in your bloodstream & deposited in various organs. It always amazes me that folks generally don't understand that. Aluminum is a big nope for me, so I switched to aluminum-free deodorant. There are a few different brands of aluminum-free (and cruelty-free) deodorant that are a lot less expensive. I wonder if the "amazing scent" is enough to justify that big price tag.
Aluminum SALTS are the only product that prevents sweat. Aluminum as a metal is not what is in antiperspirants. It doesn't get soaked into the skin or into the bloodstream. The salts plug up the sweat glands, & prevent perspiration.
I love watching these moments when an entrepreneur is so good, a shark invests into the entrepreneur, regardless if they're into the product. I was surprised Lori didn't give an offer. I thought she would have hopped on this product and entrepreneur.
