Is the sound low or is it just me?
It's low.
very low
How low can you go?
Annoyingly low.
Just you
Their payment of 1.4m in 24 months was so ridiculous that Lori and Mark said yes. Well, the deal didn't close and the entrepreneurs delivered bad quality Trunksters to their Kickstarter customers. The business shut down.
You forgot how they scammed investors, never reissued money nor replied. Absolute trash people and it showed in their pitch
Crap, i liked the auto weigh in tho
Bruh really?
Nothing made sense about the final deal. I'm not surprised it flopped.
They're a couple of scam artists. They took the money from Kickstarter and skedaddled.
Update: Turns out it was a scam. Deal never went through. People who preordered never received the luggage, and now the whole company has gone dark. Jesse also went MIA shortly after. Woops!
so mark and lori just burn their money for nothing?
@@jackhan888 👈 Mark and Lori have too much money extremely wealthy N by loosing a couple of dollars is no big deal, they’ll make double of this loss on next shark tank
@@jackhan888 The deal never closed after the show. They probably saw something was wrong with the business during due diligence.
@@zainbali7737 thanks for the info
That’s one way to end up behind bars
Remember to lower the volume after watching this.
My ears are appreciative of the reminder, glad I saw your comment right before I was about to click off 😂😅
@@destineeryan6773 happy to help!
Great reminder 😅😅😅
😂😂😂😂😂
Needed this, thank you
update for anyone that doesn't want to look it up lol.
deal never went through.
many never received the product over 1500 demanding refunds and multiple lawsuits.
of the few that received the product complained about terrible quality and wanted refunds,
all socials deleted, website went dark, and the owners are unable to be found.
so just a big scam.
Thnx for the update
THEY'RE ON THE RUN!!!
They're breaking bad
Robert ABSOLUTELY hates when people choose Mark over him. You can see and even slightly taste the saltiness at the end of the deal when it shows his face
Totally unjustified, he asked for more than what Mark and Lori would get combined in the worst case scenario.
He dodged a bullet on this one. The company was crap and after reading K Kinambugas post I looked it up. They never closed the deal and screwed over their investors etc. That was updated in 2023.
He is dumb
Lmao you're not lying. He looked like a sad puppy 🤣
He’s very competitive
$28 million dollar evaluation for something that hasn’t even shipped to a single person and has nothing unique about it. Any luggage company can easily rip this off. The fact they weren’t thrown out the door is wild. They seem so shady.
Patent on which part exactly? Patents are always so specific that there is often a way around them
@@aidankitt2611 Pending doesn't mean anything
@@thestreetlogbook611luckily, deal never closed. The few trunks terms they did actually ship to customers, were terrible quality. They went out of business without ever giving anyone a refund. Garbage people with a garbage product.
They may even be dating 😂
That “this is my best friend” shoulder rub in the beginning was really suspicious
Valuation not evaluation
We have shady news for our Trunkster update. The Kickstarter mentioned during the episode was successful, but it appears that Jessie and Gaston never fulfilled most orders. Of the slim number of orders that were shipped, most were reported to be of very poor quality.
Most of the potential customers and investors on Kickstarter and other crowdfunding campaigns were understandably upset, and the company has never responded or issued refunds.
The website is defunct and all social media accounts are MIA. Unfortunately, we have to report that this product might have been a scam. It’s a good thing that the deal with Lori and Mark never closed.
it's kinda obvious because there's nothing special nor innovative about this luggage.
I knew immediately that these guys were untrustworthy. Idk if its because this episode is older, but I fully expected mark to annihilate them.
They look like scammers
Basically the Theranos of the luggage industry. Another entitled millennial trying to sell the sizzle before the steak
@@eddycarpenter8989 these guys are not 40+, they're zennials, millennials are old now. Grey hairs? Signs of aging? Millennial or older. I'm mid 50s, I'm genX, boomers are befor me even. Get the age brackets right.
These guys apparently bailed on the business and scammed everyone
I feel like these two are more than friends. 😂
Butt buddies
Who isn't now a days
@@gerardogonzalez9517 a lot of people 😂
They def got wifes to cover it up
Brothers?
They went out of business!!!! Never delivered the paid pre orders.
Even if the firm was over valued, they should at least have been able to deliver on the Kickstarter
Total scammers
Not surprising. I could tell these bozos were the type to just look like entrepreneurs, but not have an actual business.
Apparently it was all a scam. They didn't deliver any luggage to their kickstarter backers and didn't issue any refunds. Deleted their social media and went silent. The deal never closed.
From what I gather, it was 50/50. Many of their kickstarter backers DID receive their luggage and many did not. All of those that did receive the luggage were unhappy with the poor quality. And yes, those that did not get the luggage lost that money and were never issued a refund. Apparently, some of them are seriously considering starting a class-action lawsuit against the company.
@@swedishshortsnout5610that will go nowhere. The only time that was successfull the kickstarter backers got a check for like $5 dollars years after the scam happenned
Prototype gave them away... For once, Barbara was right, and intuition of Lori was magical 😊
Say what you want about Barbara, but she rarely invests in BS and always gets huge chunks of the companies.
@@whatsadog2445I used to not like Barbara because it seemed like she just went way too out of her way to just tell them she’s out. But then I realized that she has the least amount of money out of the sharks so she invests very strategically. I mean she turned 50k to +35million.
4:30 4:58
@@Mooshoo23 Barbara is incredibly smart. However, I just don't like how she often tells the story (to shark guests) of her going from "rags to riches" when she actually financed her first business from her boyfriend's money. Not many people have that luxury to begin with.
Barbara just spews nonsense. Obviously shes good at what she does but makes little sense most of the time "the prototype looks too masculine" ya thats because its a prototype. Does Barbara seriously believe they are going to make every single bag straight black? Ya there is no way they would be open to making different colour bags..... Horrible reason to go out.
7:35 when Robert said “this isn’t an investment! We’re going on a trip together 😃” had me completely dead ☠️😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
$395 for a piece of luggage. Only a regular flier could even possibly justify that.
I know people who pay a premium on luggage because they travel often so for some it make sense
@@tonystank_kick the problem is how big is that market?
I work in a store that regularly sells premium priced luggage with designer branding on them. There certainly is a market of people who spend huge sums of money on luggage.
@@tonystank_kick I don’t doubt that a market _exists._ But it’s definitely a luxury product.
The company is out of business lol
With the insane amount of security at airports these days, a large battery in a suitcase might be problematic.
This is just a scam not a real product
That’s a good point.
they screwed over and never shopped to majority of people who pre-ordered them...its a scam
Robert was saved from losing $1.4 million.
Saved by the worst investor in the history of Shark Tank. Thanks, Mark.
I can’t believe anyone even put an offer in on a $28 million dollar company with literally 0 sales 0 customer feedback or real consumer testing, so many things can go wrong especially with all those electronics. This is SO risky it doesn’t make sense
Edit - just googled it and yeah the shark tank website says the company turned out to be sketchy, didn’t fulfill a large chunk of those kickstarter sales, and the ones which were sent were said to be poor quality. The deal never closed.
how could they ask (beg...) for 28mil when hardly any customers got theirs and also........just in case there is a defective part, would the dudes repair it??? I highly DOUBT IT!
So those who bought that Chinese-made crap never got their money back?
I am surprised that they got so many offers. The sharks all said the product is not tested, the customers hasn’t received anything. None of the details of the operations has been flushed out. The founders seems more like inventors than business people and they definitely did not watch any Shark Tank prior. The evaluation seems greedy and ridiculous.
Man-bun? I’m out.
Retail price of $399 for a carry-on? I'm sure they can get the price down, but I'm not sure how well this will sell for over $200.
What you don't know is they do a lot more things behind the scenes before it's official It's not official just what you see on TV
I don't get this. Why would they invest any amount in them? I feel like the answers may be in the parts that were edited out of the segment. They never sold anything, this product wasn't tested, it is very expensive. What am I missing here?
I think the intern edited this one - it was terrible
There is no way they agreed to the first counter they made... Definitely something missing here.
But isn't it such that your check-in luggage should not have battery inside?
Lithium batteries can spontaneously combust, and are very unsafe in an aeroplane.
I'm shocked Barbara went out 😂😂
"This is a day that ends in y and for that reason I'm out."
I was stunned they got offers .
It was for sure high risk high reward for this thing. It had a large profit margin and had 7 figures of product sold before they created a single thing. That’s insight into there being potential going forward but the sharks not doing the deal makes it seem that these guys spoiled their red flags. But even so the actual deal that gets made, if it even does, is usually on different terms than the show. So if they’d actually done something I’m sure the contracts would’ve been nice and tight. And of course the offer they had was really attractive too in the sense that they get equity, get their money repaid, get royalties and if it isn’t repaid in the proper time then they get more equity. But even such mesns nothing if the dudes vanish with the cash
@@Matt-cr4vvit was a scam and they never shipped anything
I knew from the second these clowns started talking this would fail. How did the sharks not see this? Most insane product ever to get an initial deal. Glad it did not close. these guys constantly spoke over the sharks and clearly had no clue what they were doing.
Their energy, demeanor, the little dance the guy was doing, their discontent with being "corporate", their strange if conditional for failure with double equity, their lack of affluence and lack of initial investment into their own business with a ludicrous evaluation, and their scam type language within their pitch. Honestly dudes just opened their face holes for one second and I was out.
It's the tonality that sends it for me, it's like all hype, all excitement, but they have like... hampster energy
Barbara outperformed herself again, bravo 👌🏻
If u ever feel pricing something too expensive. remember that this guy exists 😂
None of the features were unique except the roll top door. You can add a charger to anything, and we have AirTags now, which only cost $30. I can’t believe that sharks tried to pursue this deal
That guy's accent almost vanished faster than their business. lol
Yeah what was up with that?
When Barbara was in the womb she prolly was like “yeah I don’t see any use in this anymore so I’m out”
I was surprised by their offer at the end, it gave confidence in their own product pluss ensured the sharks would get their money back, I honestly thought they'd bottle it 😂
They did eventually. Apparently the deal fell through and the business shut down
Nope they are worth $30 million today. I own one. Great case @@Magido89
yeah it fell through.
poor Robert watched the deal slip through😂
actually Robert dodged a bullet. this whole luggage company was a scam.
I’m sure he’s glad he missed it looking back. The deal never closed and turned out to be a scam.
Anything from Kickstarter that has yet to ship a product should be an automatic "no" from anyone with common sense. I have no idea how or why they received any offers even aside from their ludicrous valuation. Of course, like most Kickstarter ventures, Trunkster turned out to essentially be a scam.
Their deal didn’t happen. But I imagine if it had there would’ve been contingencies on the money not going anywhere until there had been production and product delivery performed to some extent. I highly doubt they’d have handed it all over prior to seeing any operation happening
Someone needs to brand their company "I'm out" for Barbara to be in
I'm over here going WHY IS MY VOLUME NOT GOING UP!! And then I turn on spotify... mistake!!! hahahaah
I love this channel. It test every possible audio level of my headphone and my ability to adjust the volume everytime. Of course I'm being sarcastic.
One of the issues with this item is the removable battery. Multiple luggage companies already have this feature. Battery adds to the weight of the item and has to be removed before boarding. So the only thing unique is how it opens and that it has a built in scale. Still not a bad product, but they do need a track record of their sales. Wish them luck.
batteries are really a big deal on airports and planes, just shipping something with a battery takes a whole bunch of extra paperwork.
Mark and Lori accept, and everyone agrees that it’s a great deal. So where is Trunkster now? Let’s find out in our Trunkster update.

Thanks, mate.
We received positive reviews
Barbara: and for that reason I'm out😂
You literally don't need a scale and handle All you have to do is hold your luggage and weigh yourself on the scale and subtract your weight
Omg why i never thought of it like this 😂😂😂😂😂
BARB: "I ALSO FORGOT MY BREAKFAST THIS MORNING AND FOR THAT REASON IM OUT "😮
gotta wear headphones to hear this
How can an OFFICIAL CHANNEL upload it with bad audio? Background music is way too loud and the whole thing is VERY quiet. Just like this product, it didn't pass quality control.

yeah... scammers XD
"I love this product and the market. And for those reasons I'm out" - Barbara
Company update: they took the money from pre orders, delivered some low quality products and didnt deliver the product to many others and closed their company.
Not gonna lie, I’m really happy the deal never closed. Those two guys were extremely obnoxious and arrogant. I feel bad for the people who paid for the product and never got it but honestly I’m glad their business went belly up.
These 2 were ridiculous- already out of biz. Shocked that 2 sharks fell for it, hope they got their money back.
They didn't close the deal.
it can take a year to close a deal...sharks probably waited for the kickstarter deliveries to "deliver" which they never did before closing
My right ear loved this video
I can’t believe they got a deal
How has nobody addressed the luggage onboard battery safety risk on planes?
a lot of people carry portable chargers, all sort of electronics, cables, etc. and nothing bad has rly happened with those
Something felt inadequate at the start which is why Mark was quiet. Seems the inadequacy shouldn't have been ignored. Barbara recognized it and acted on it.
I honestly thought Mark was gonna switch formats, and breathe fire, to chase them out of the Den. With that valuation, and how he was sitting saying nothing for most of the pitch.
It’s a looong pitch that’s edited :)
@@saraoberrauch they often are. The one thing you hear from people who have been in the Tank (Den) its that 30 - 40 minutes, got edited down to 12 minutes for TV.
The ad almost blew my speakers
Sounds like the audio was recorded underwater so makes sense
Batteries in luggage are a dangerous fire hazard. Lighter luggage is always preferred. Softer luggage fits better in overhead compartment. This product is highly flawed.
why do they always have low sound
i have my pc all the way up and can barely hear the vid.
They ain’t “friends” they are lovers
Are you jealous

I was surprised that any shark made an offer on this deal.
I was gonna type first… then I remembered that I have a brain
Thank you!

My idea for this product would be to make all 4 sides of the suitcase solar panels and put a 2000w portable solar power station in the lower half of the suitcase which could power a coffee machine or microwave or fridge on the go making business meetings completely portable with portable power which I could see someone like jackery or tesla doing
Hold on hold on... Just subscribed.. Love the show btw
28 million on a hypothetical. And their website doesn't work.
Damnnn their counter is really smart. I never heard someone confidence enough to pay shark back before.
This was Barbara's most sensible "I'm out" ever
Smart man snuck a kiss in with Lori.
Lol the question is who will buy a $400 suitcase that essentially just has a charger + gps. Lol
I can’t believe they got a deal at that valuation when they are pre delivery of a single product to an end user.
Kickstarter sales don’t tell you demand for your product, they tell you demand for the promises made at the time of the kickstarter. Until the product ships and you can confirm delivery on those promises you can’t assert that kickstarter sales are at all representative of future sales.
Good episode, that was the most thought someone ever put into their counter on shark thank.
Since the episode aired, there's been no confirmation from either Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner on the deal being finalized, though it's widely speculated that the deal was never officially closed.
Horrible business, Horrible Business Owners, Horrible offers, no sales to back it up just no way I’m out go and sell people first and then Come back
Honestly I really liked when Kevin said “NO!” Someone had to say it…
Trunkster is currently valued at $5m, 9 years later. Looks like Mr Wonderful nailed the valuation.
Lori in the end made me subscribe, whilst watching for years, lol
11:16 that’s Barbara’s joke Lori😂😂
Robert trying to hide his bitterness with a smile :)
I just found out “Trunkster” is worth $2k today. That’s a MAJOR loss 😅😭
Ya'll see him kiss Laurie at the end or am I trippin? lmao
Idk if the deal didn’t go through, my man got what matters most
ye he did lol
Are those even allowed inside an airplane luggage compartment with batteries on them
Did he just give Lori a kiss in the end. Where are the boundaries
Sound was way ofd
Great guys. Good luck to them.
Lori at the end of the video asking to subscribe is so cute
Gotcha ! They knew they were going nowhere with those luggage 😂😂😂

Aww Robert wants to cry 😂... Robert wants to cry 😂😂😂
Portable weighing machine - 15$, Portable charger (no included in the luggage btw)- 20 $ and a bag for 395$??? Please tell me that this business is still not stealing money from the customers.
Well, to be fair, this was almost ten years ago. They appeared on the show in 2015.
this is ridicilous. And i cannot believe that someone would buy these things! And it was so expected that this job falls out.
Barb just wanted to give her reasons first to be out 😂
there's something wrong with the audio on all of these shark tank episodes. it is very quiet. whoever is uploading these needs to take a look at that
That's how you do business baby!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Lol, Mark didn't even bother to get out of his seat on the beginning. Also business is working with people, just don't feel they have their stuff together. .
I have really good lugages from Rimowa and other brands which are around the same price category and considered "luxury", so why would so many people buy this brand which is not that known for the same price? The gimmicks are not that amazing and solveable with a luggage hand scale you can take everywhere and a mobile battery? So the only difference is how to open the luggage... and thats worth 400 USD?
Barbara is right here, my first question when seeing the battery in it is how heavy is it? It is not a proven product until thousands of customers actually use the luggage for a trip and tell everyone how it feels to use it and bring it around
That guy is probably a financial advisor for the Argentinan government... 😂😂😂
The fact nobody was out immediately when they heard the ask.
I would buy the product, go on vacation, then return it for a full refund within ninety days.
Reminds me a temu luggage demonstration
it can take a year to close a deal...sharks probably waited for the kickstarter deliveries to "deliver" which they never did before closing
