No idea yet. It will all depend on the movie and how I feel after the first watch. If I know that I'm not going to feel that different on the 2nd watch, then I won't bother.

Eileen Davidson became a household name when she was on soaps like Days of Our Lives where during one arc she played 4 different characters at the same time. Ofcourse being a soap, its over the top, but she made each character its own. But I've been watching this movie since my dad recorded it on VHS back in the mid 80s and it is STILL one of my top slasher films. And Robin Meloy (shout out to fellow Pittsburgh native) who played Jeanie, had one of my favorite scenes leading up to her death. The doorknob rattling in the kitchen, the musical score with the chants of "ahh ahh" and her reaction was fearful. Then when the cane goes thru the glass and she knows its about to go down, you feel for her. She is terrified and runs...in the wrong direction, but still...anyways. Great movie.

I saw the filming of this movie one weekend when I was 7. We watched them film the part where they're trying to revive Ms. Slater after they shot her outside the pool. Met all the girls, went for a tour of the house including the attic. Pretty cool day for a 7 year old

There is something that disappointed me about the movie, but it happens towards the end. The killer puts on the jester costume, and it made me a little sad that he didn’t wear that costume throughout the whole movie.

I originally saw this as a pre-teen on television in the mid 80's before we bought our first VCR, and have loved it since. Two things I loved about is the score (since you don't have many like this), and the fact that it didn't have to be overly edited for television.

Great idea to have a second thoughts review. Yes, we're all human and we can, often do, have new insights, thoughts, and opinions upon re-watching films. I wasn't trying to give you a hard time with your X-Ray ranking, but it's a great case in point. You liked it more after the next viewing :-) This film I'd say is fair, decent, though it doesn't quite make my collection. Not yet :-)

This is one of my favorite "so bad it good" movies. I agree with you that it has to be re-watched over and over to appreciate it. The score is fantastic, as you say, one of the better film scores of the 80s (love the music box motif theme) I also think it has one of the better reveals of the killer at the end, when he moves his head in the Harlequin costume it really creepy. Yes, the acting is very debatable for most of the cast but it still stands today as an ok slasher film.
How I discovered this film is a great story. I ordered it online many years ago, prob the mid/early 2000s when online shopping had just started. It was about £2 from some early DVD/Music website in the day. Now, when the DVD came and I played it, suddenly I started to have very suspicious deja vu. I had assumed I had never seen it before but suddenly I instantly recognized the cemetery scene and like a bolt of lightning realised it was a memory from my past, I had seen the film in the 80s when I was very young but just didn't know what film it was, it was like a eureka moment, as I knew there would be a clown music box in it which always frightened the bejesus outta me lol. It was a great feeling to finally put a film title to a long stored memory. :)

This is one of my guilty pleasures. I have watched this like 6 times during quarantine. The score is actually beautiful for a horror flick! One thing I noticed was that after Vicky's kill with the cane to the stomach and eye Kate finds her body yet her eye is totally intact and fine. That bugs me. But, I still adore this. The comedy team Rifftrax actually did this movie and it's hilarious. It's free on Amazon Prime if you ever need a laugh! :)

I actually appreciate that you revealed who the killer was at the end. I had assumed that it was Peter! Nope. I fully agree with your reviews here, the kills got better as the movie went along. I thought they did a really good job with Liz's neck slit, in particular. Oddly enough, prior to seeing this, I had also recently seen Eileen Davidson in a teen comedy from '81, title "Goin' All the Way". Her looks for '81/'82, seem ahead of that time period.
I think it's a great idea btw, reviewing a movie twice. For the record, I wasn't too crazy about Kate McNeil's performance either; though I know that you changed your position with all of that.

I know that this comment is not about this film AT ALL, but it could possibly go with the first view, (possible) second view thoughts concept. I cannot believe this but I got the opportunity to watch the original Halloween (yes, ‘78 Carpenter) recently. I can see why your a fan of the franchise (I am so with you now, it’s REALLY GOOD.), however I had to go eat, and I stupidly forgot to take my phone with me. So I missed the last half hour! 🎃😡 however, my favorite part so far is definitely when he steps out of the bushes, and the camera work around that. Hopefully I’ll be able to see the last act at some point. 😃
P.S- you can laugh at me all you want, but my first thought after watching little Michael kill his sister (besides woah 😳) was “holy crap Lee, don’t let me down now....” and you didn’t, from what I was able to watch!

Still thinking about watching this one. Still looks creepy. Another creepy movie that came out in 83’ which you have not yet reviewed, is “Curtains.” It stars the late John Vernon, and Lyn Griffin. It’s not a great slasher since most of the kills are done off screen. The production story of the movie is mixed up. It started production in 1980’ and went through a couple different directors and plot synopsis, and genres. I think it was supposed to be mostly a thriller drama like “Black Swan”, then the studio wanted it to be a slasher. There are also subplots that are only referenced once, but aren’t traced throughout the movie. The same goes for the creepy doll that only shows up two or three times in the movie, then is never seen again. The movie does have a beautiful score which sounds like a ballet piece from “Swan Lake” or something. Doesn’t fit the mood of a horror film. It’s worth a listen. ua-cam.com/video/nUOBDAFHkXY/v-deo.html

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I JUST WATCHED THIS MOVIE TOO! IM NOT EVEN JOKING IT WAS SUMMER OF 84 AND NOW THIS! I actually thought this movie was very superior. It is actually decent. There is really nothing to bad with it. The killer wasn't THAT shocking, but it kept me thinking. And everytime you bring up that damn slasher book you always show the burning. The final girl Katerine was actually fine. Totally agree about the kills. Very toned down. But it still looks gory and kinda cool in my Opinon. And Vicky got stabbed multiple times because Shes a b**ch in this film. All the other girls were ok. "I was born with a sliver spoon in my mouth. It's up my nose!" I WAS SCREAM CRYING! THATS HILARIOUS! I was so happy when you changed your mind about Katherine. But great review!

Hey I love the show have you heard the JASON GOES TO HELL 25TH ANNIVERSARY INTERVIEW WITH WRITER/ DIRECTOR ADAM MARCUS? It's on MIDNIGHTS EDGE channel it's like a podcast and he talks about how the movie was really supposed to be like he talks about how Jason's relatives had more of a back story and how he dealt with Sean Cunningham, the EVIL DEAD references the restraints he had to deal with, the CRAYTON DUKES STORY was supposed to be bigger and how he wanted to use the Tommy Jarvis character but couldn't. All in all from this interview I believe I would have loved this movie. But with what we got I thought the movie was ok but was not a huge fan. If he would have been able to make the movie talked about I'm sure we as horror fans we would have loved it. He also talks about his pitch on FREDDY vs Jason movie. He touches on some of this stuff with the CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE MEMORIES. But this is more in depth I recommend everyone to check it out.

Dave Mcrae about the interview I didn't get to cody leach though I'm going to send him one to or maybe if you like it let him know about it also. I'm really like this interview because I always thought that movie could have been better and to find out what he was going to actually do to me proves my point and it would have been so good that's why I'm so enthusiastic about it and that I'm a Friday the 13th fan helps also. So thanks for replying to me and I'm a huge Halloween fan overall the first movie came out in 1978 I was 7 years old so I had to wait a few years to see on NBC CHANNEL 4 for us I've been hooked ever since love your show PEACE.

Hey Drumdums...have you ever seen the 1982 slasher film “Slumber Party Massacre”? If you have, do you like it or think you could ever review it?

I watched it for a second time yesterday, because I couldn´t remember anything about it. Why? I don´t know exactly. It has nice kills, a cool murder weapon and it just functions perfectly well as a slasher. Perhaps it was that one movie too much back in 2009, considering the reviving trend that Scream started. And the biggest problem of the movie: no likeable characters at all! The boys are all alcohol and c..k drivin´. Not even the final girl who in the end is ok with doing nothing and burry their secret. But those cynical characters work way better in our social climate right now where you just look out for your own. Even if that means stepping or in Sorority Rows case driving over somebody. 8/10
In hope, i will remember it now.

I actually liked the weapon of choice. The killer is using something his mother owned to avenge her death.

@@DrumdumsMovieReviews 2 Notes: 1.The book thing didn't matter and could have been saved for the end. 2. Your opinion didn't really change all that much, thus making this kinda pointless. No one would have noticed that this was from 4 months earlier had you not pointed it out. Hell even the Cinema Snob will re-upload videos from years ago and just put when it was from in the video description. Lastly, whoever told you your voice is sexy, lied.
