OO OOO YEA
i saw this years ago and i remember the ending with the killer driving the ambulance and it was basically to set up a sequel that never happened.
@@willhuey4462 Would have loved a sequel.
I grew up watching Killer Party it's one of my all time favorites.
Mpaa?...... I don't PLAY that SHIT 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
This was one of the first horror movies I remember seeing as a kid. I was about 8 years old at a sleepover and it sort of traumatized me. The shots of Jennifer crawling up the walls with the demon eyes gave me nightmares for months! I literally never knew the name of this and would describe it to people and no one knew what movie it was. I only recently found it again and it’s such a cheesy, fun 80’s flick. Definitely not as scary now as an adult but so fun and I can never get that end credits “these are the best times of our lives” song out of my head. Damnit. It’s stuck again. 😂
I saw this when I was a kid, too. I never forgot this movie, especially the ending. Freaking love this movie
Love this movie! The song "Best Times" that plays in the movie was written by the writer and producer and performed by their wives. Betsi Brackett, Gale Shelly, and Jo Topolski (Kurtz). I actually talked to Alan Bracket about it.
I liked Killer Party as a kid, but even waaaay back then I could tell it was censored to hell and back. Kind of killed my enjoyment. I think how much better it could have been if the creative kills were allowed to stay.
Edit: They looked for cut footage, and as far as I know, I was never located. Most likely destroyed.
So glad you reviewed this. A truly very underrated horror movie.
I actually owned the White Sister album , I was a sucker for 80s melodic rock back in the day, just managed to hunt down a copy and will finish your review when Ive seen it.
There was a THIRD April Fool’s slasher released in 1986 called Slaughter High, which you should check out and review if you ask me
Nice! I've literally had Slaughter High in my watch stack for 2 years!
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Lee also check out return to horror high it was a mind f*** but good 80s high school slasher
Slaughter high had some good kills. Some censored , like the bathtub/acid kill. Unfortunately, the actor that played that character also died in bathtub via suicide.
Oh crap.. I remember this movie. My aunt had this in her collection and I watched it with my cousins as a kid. I forgot about it till now.
Me and my family used to watch this all the time. One of my favorites 🙌🏽
Fun cheese. When she goes full Exorcist mode it's hilarious. The double fake out at the start was so confusing, legitimately thought I was watching the wrong film.
Couldn't agree more!
I enjoyed this 80s B-movie classic. I own the streaming movie and it's one of my Halloween favorites to watch every year. Canada made some good horror movies in the 1980s.
I’m so happy you reviewed this!! This is one of my comfort horror movies.❤️
I’m so happy I found it Kathy. I adore it!
Love seeing Levi hanging around with Pops!
SLAUGHTER HIGH was another slasher from this same year surrounding "April Fools Day" and was going to be CALLED THAT until their was a clash with the APRIL FOOLS DAY slasher you mentioned... so wow, three films around April Fools Day from 1986? Gnarly!
Brother showed me this movie when I was a kid. 1990 I believe is the year I seen it, scared piss outta me
Great review Lee as always and I've heard of this movie before but when you started talking about the ending I was surprised when you said Jennifer who was suppose to be the "final girl" actually dies and then one of her friends gets possessed by the ghost that possessed Jennifer and then both of her friends gets carted off in a ambulance and one of them kills the other one presumably like damn...
Thank you for your consideration regarding spoiling and not spoiling. I've always been curious about this one, but I've never come across it for viewing.
Welcome!
"something about the 80s films"...... I thought it was only me. There is definitely a charm not just in the horror movies but movies like summer rental, The Great outdoors, Baby boom 3 Men and a Baby I mean the list can go on and on with comedy even with drama that charm makes it like a shared universe. I'm high as f*** wow
That's what happens to Night of the Demon 1988 it got swallowed up because it came out at the tail end of the slasher movies craze. But now it does have a cult following.
Lee, I caught this one on cable back in the late 80s and was surprised how wild and scary the third act was; definitely a hidden gem. Thanks for bringing this one up to the audience.
Yeah man I'm shocked this one wasn't a big cult hit.
I have never seen or heard of this.My favourite chats: Movies I don't know 😎 I have heard of a more recent remake though 🤯
I love this movie. I have a vhs copy and dvd copy. For years I have been talking about this movie. Great 80s slasher. I think the kills are good. The last act is action packed and I wanted a sequel to find out what happened to Vivia.
I would have loved a sequel.
I was born the year this movie came out, but still remember watching as a child. The music is everything! I still have a copy on VHS.
White Sister was an American hard rock and AOR band formed in 1980. Their song "Save Me Tonight" appeared on the soundtrack album for the 1985 Columbia Pictures film, Fright Night. Their song "April" can be heard in the 1986 Metro-Goldwyn Mayer film, Killer Party. The band also performs in the movie.
This is all true.
I would love to see a remake of this movie because they cut out almost every kill. Imagine what you could do today. Maybe that is the reason why it is so underrated.
I agree with this! Plus I would love to see a modern interpretation of that last act.
Long live the 80s.
The ending song is good!! THESE ARE THE BEST TIMES OF OUR LIVES...its on youtube.
Love the music in this.
I've never heard of this. I'm pumped to watch it now DrumDums. Wow I like these hidden gems. Great video!
This movie is a classic 80s jem. It kind of plays off of 1982’s the Dorm That Dripped Blood aka PRANKS. They working in a dormitory to repair it and their is a lot of Pranks going on in the movie and it doesn’t end happy…lol
That is one to check out too! The lighting is horrible in it but it has a young Daphne Zuniga in it. It’s also on UA-cam.
This is a fun movie. It’s definitely a classic in its own right:) their are still a lot of these out there, Lee;) I still want you to see is Superstition. It’s a slasher with a Witch Spirit element to it. It’s on Prime as well to rent.
Great review Lee! We love that you appreciate the horror gems;)
Watched it last night, huge 80's horror fan but not even I had heard of this one and I loved it. As you say the first two thirds is almost Porkies then that final third kicks in and BOOM, and what a cool final scene, thanks for the heads up!!
I remembered this as a kid in the 80s. Finally found it back in the 00s after googling “horror movie bee butt stab”
Hahaha bee butt stab. Love this movie.
You are sooooo RIGHT! This movie is very interesting in several genres; 1) a movie within a movie PLUS a freakin' music-video added, 2) it does feel like one of those '80's teen sex comedies in the beginning, 3) it went from SLASHER to straight-up EXORCIST in that last act and I didn't see it coming, 4) a daunting and dark ending in the ambulance ride, AND I might add....this might take the top prize for the category called; 'WHAT'S THE NAME OF THAT 1980's MOVIE WHERE IT'S A COMEDY BUT THEN A GIRL IS CRAWLING ON THE WALLS KILLING COLLEGE STUDENTS CALLED'? - James D. Watkins, artistic director of PHOENIX PRODUCTIONS.
Yeah it's so unique!
What a great review. I agreed with pretty much everything you said. Especially your comment about the chemistry between the three leads. They were definitely great together. I’m in my early 40s now and I’ve loved this one since I was about 10. I’ve seen it so many times and it’s always a blast. More people need to check it out.
I'm glad I finally discovered this one. Can't believe it's not more popular.
I watched Killer PArty a couple of times on TV and I really love It. Great Movie, definetely a hidden gem.
Dude I’m so old I remember that movie poster!!!
#TheLastHorrorMovie
The 1980s is the greatest decade of horror ever .
I didn't see this movie until the mid 90's & was really surprised how fun it was .
Every single time I see Marisa Tomei , I think of this movie I seen on HBO one night .
Never new the name until now
Thanks 😁
Glad I could help!
This is one of those, looks very familiar, so think I've seen it, but been awhile, so would need to see it again. I'll totally look to check it out. As for Playing For Keeps, I know I've heard of it, but haven't seen it. Anyways, thank you, Lee.
Thanks, my mom showed this movie to me when I was a kid. I always wanted to see it again but couldnt remember the title
That band was known as White Sister. They had two albums. They went on to form Tattoo Rodeo. The band had a song off the Fright Night soundtrack....I think. Don't quote me on it. April Wine and Autograph was on it too.
Yes I did some research on them after this movie. I still have the songs "April" and "Dancing on Midnight" from Halloween 5 on my exercise playlist.
Heard of this in recent years. I have it on order from eBay. This was a great time to be a teen, metalhead and horror fan. I don't remember either metal or horror being as popular as they both were simultaneously back then. Two great tastes that taste great together. Ok, not original, but oh, so appropriate! Never too old to rock!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Also, a dude in an old-fashioned diving suit(complete with helmet), Scooby-Doo style, taking somebody out with a hammer......can't WAIT to see this! Have "Playing For Keeps" on DVD. Found it in a bargain bin at Wal-Mart, early '00's. Saw Marisa Tomei, plus the magic words, "rock and roll", on the cover, I was in. Hell, I would've paid full price for it!
It's the Lord's work you're doing, Lee! 🤘
👏👏
I love standalone slashers especially from the 1980s. I have never heard of this slasher before however I will have to check it out. Thanks for the review Lee.
About damn time! Now can we please get a City of the living Dead review this year? That one is a MUST especially since you liked The Beyond
Yes you can. Been looking forward to that one!
It’s so interesting that you released a video on Killer Party today. A few days ago I was watching one of your videos where you were ranking scary movies, and this one came to mind for me. I even looked on UA-cam to see if anyone had posted it.
I remember seeing this movie on TV while on a High School band trip in Spring 1987. It must have been on HBO or something. I remember watching it in a hotel room with friends and being worried that someone might figure out that I was scared. I would eventually track the movie down in the 2000s. I was amused by the fact that it once scared me.
I think the movie is a bit uneven, but like you said, the characters are so much fun that it doesn’t matter. I’m happy to see you liked it.
Yeah and it’s the last movie you would expect to be scary given the tone of the first 2/3 of the movie. But then it hit you over the head with a shovel.
I'll have to check this out. I only knew about it because of Joanna Johnson, she was on The Bold and the Beautiful.
Have you ever seen the horror movie Popcorn from the early 90s? That's another overlooked/underrated gem. Would love to see you do a review of that.
One of my all time favorites... And about time it got some registration, thank you Lee.
I definitely have to check this out , just wanted to stop by before I head to bed .keep up the amazing work Lee
I recently just watched ( The House on sorority row 1982 ) I actually enjoyed it
A character in this movie wears a costume that will remind you of House on Sorority Row. Love that movie as well.
Great obscure slasher gem! Here's a little trivia for you Lee, White Sister eventually changed their name to Tattoo Rodeo. They released several albums in the mid 90's (I think), and had more of a bluesy, hard rock sound. Check out the album Skin from 1995, it's a great album! Also, the blu ray is awesome! Thanks for reviewing it!!
Thank you Tommy! Love the singer’s voice. I’ll check them out.
I've never heard of this. Will have to search it out.
Super glad you made a review for this and are sharing the love of this Killer movie! One of my favs! I wonder, if like me, you had the April song on repeat for a few days!? 😅
OMG yes. That song is so damn infectious. I've been listening other songs by White Sister as well.
Lol had to turn off unfortunately when you got to spoilers as I'll try track it down but looks awesome!! That song too, love it!!😂
I vaguely remember impressions from this movie, like the body in the bathtub or when the demon reveals itself with one of those devil pitch forks. I typed in party demonic killing horror movie and found the title pretty quick.
I am so damn glad I found this movie. It's a hidden treasure.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews However, there is another 80s horror movie that I caught glimpses of as a child, but can't find the name. It also took place in a haunted house, the party goers seemed to be possessed one by one, one of the possessed started using a ouija board. There was a giant spider woman who caught some dude in her giant web in the basement, I think. Ring any bells ?
Spookies was the name of the other movie.
I enjoyed this movie. I saw it one Halloween when I binged on a bunch of forgotten slashers, like this one, Killer Workout, and The Forest.
Nice!
I remember watching this movie on HBO back in 1987
COOL IDEA FOR A FUNDRAISER: initiate a group zoom viewing of a movie whether it's to be taken seriously or poked fun at but as long as it's part of the horror or sci-fi fantasy or whatever genre. And raffle off spots around a screen and closer to the center where you are would be the highest bid and etc moving out I'm getting interact with the fans and fans can interact with each other etc as we rip apart movies for me I saw this movie called The fanatic and I'm I'm stunned literally stunned and ashamed to have listened to limp Bizkit... Freaking limp biscuit
The last act is like a curveball from hell. Totally unexpected. This movie would've benefited if it was called "Night of the demons"
Yeah one of the most refreshing slashers I've ever seen.
Vivia was my favorite character. This movie reminded me of my bloody valentine. I enjoyed the hell of it👌👌
Yes Vivia was awesome!
great transfer on the blu-ray
For sure.
Just came across your channel recently, huge fan my guy. You seem like a stand up guy. Keil from Ventura,CA.... cheers brotha
Appreciate it Keil! All the way from Orlando, FL.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews keep up the good work my friend. I look forward to future content
Just saw this on KF and immediately came over to peep hahahahaha
Nice!
4:45 I believe Slaughter High is another slasher set on April Fool's Day. I would recommend Slaughter High if you have not seen it.
Slaughter High is the third April fools slasher from 1986
Now watch Mausoleum that one will blow you away
Killer Party is a great B rated slasher flick and has awesome music. I love a good supernatural slasher movie.
Hell yeah!! So glad I found this movie.
I watched this movie when I was a kid and here recently. I really liked it. I had asked you a few years ago to do a review on this and I'm glad you finally did. It's cool.you bring up the point about the other killer, because I always wondered about that as well. I tried to look it up to see who it could be, but I never found out who it was. There was a kill before the party during the day that made me wonder about it.
Also, I actually did see playing for keeps too. Another good movie.
I'm like you when it comes to demon/possessed eyes. Movies like killer party, witch board, and evil dead get to me. I do like those movies.
I know this was over a year when posted but this was one of my favorite 80s slasher flicks. I think the killer in the beginning is the nerdy kid Martin pay attention to his shoes. Also the house mother and teacher knew who was killing them both of them asked what are you doing here or in here lol
Lee can you do an underrated 80s horror list. My birthday is on Monday and I would love a good list of 80s horror movies. This one is my list
1986 seemed to be a great year for horror. Killer Party, Night of the Creeps, Friday the 13th PT.6, even April Fool's Day were great flicks from that year.
Hell yeah!!
I love all these films.
There is another April Fools slasher I’ve seen called Slaughter High. Which is an excellent slasher by the way. Highly recommended. Definitely falls under the “why aren’t people talking about this movie?” category
Slaughter high was amazing. The shower scene…come on
I watched Killer Party and Playing for Keeps so many times on TBS. Lol. And the spoiler is right on the back of the cover. 🤟🏻
Yeah you can't escape that damn spoiler haha. Nobody ever talks about Playing For Keeps. I saw it in the theater opening night back in 86. Almost noone was in the theater.
College-esqe slasher from the eighties.... some of my favorite films: Night of the Creeps, The Prowler, The Initiation, April Fools Day.... haven't seen this one though. A coed demon;maybe too many jello shots??? Thanks for the recommendation Lee!
This one fits right in with all of those you mentioned. Enjoy.
And I know I've said this before, but Flowers in the Attic is such a scary movie that borders on it could really happen, that Flowers in the Attic makes me feel dirty and I want to take a shower after watching it. Now that is a psychological thriller and where does the horror movie aspect come? Oh if you miss it....... it's within opening scene
I can relate. "Flowers" is quite a mind fuck because it deals with incest, child abuse and religious authoritarianism.
Thanks For The Review
Mr. Lee
I Was Looking For April Fools Movies Earlier And It Came Up
Than You're Review For It Came Up Today
Luckily I Found A Streaming Service That Had It Playing
It's A Strange Movie
But Overall I Enjoyed It
Yeah I love how unique it is!
Thank you for reviewing this gem! Everyone I used to talk to about this movie had never even heard of it. I enjoyed it from the first viewing and had my own copy ever since the 80's, lol. Now please check out MUTE WITNESS finally ?! I really believe you will like that one too ( more of a thriller ).
1986s (slaughter high) is a decent April fools day slasher flick especially cause it's got ❤️ Caroline Munro❤️ in it and Harry Manfredini composed the movie soundtrack.
I have the blu-ray. Beening meaning to watch it.
Actress SHERRY WILLIS-BURCH who plays VIVIA was also in the 1981 SLASHER Flick "FINAL EXAM" 😃🤘🤘
I've been meaning to watch Final Exam.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews FINAL EXAM is both good & bad in various parts but it's a Fun SLASHER Flick,,,,SHERRY WILLIS-BURCH has Longer Hair in it
Will check this out!
Definitely do!
Killer party was actually on the tcm channel late at night fun stuff
Nice!
I hope you keep going with this horror movies I never seen series, thanks

@@DrumdumsMovieReviews cool,thanks bro
I wish this was streaming on a service that I subscribe to!
Yeah it's on a couple of them I think.
Lee- Never saw this movie. Got to check it sometime looks pretty good. Thought the band that did the song was Dokken at first. They did do that song for A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors, So I thought maybe they did a song for this movie also. Always loved Dokken back in the day. Great Review as always.
They have a bit of a Dokken sound don't they. They also have a kickass song in Halloween 5 called "Dancin' on Midnight".
This is one of my favorite movies!
It has quickly jumped high on my 80s slasher list.
Joanne Johnson is excellent as Jennifer. 😀👍
4:42
Slaughter high......I think
Classic movie
I’m pretty sure I watched this movie when I was a little kid like maybe 10 and it scared me. Lol. That and salems lot. But I started watched horror at 6 years old. My mom took me and my sister to see Friday the 13th part 3 in theaters. I was hooked every since
Funny enough, Friday part 3 was the first movie that scared me to death. When Jason is squeezing the dudes head and the eye pops out at the screen.
This is definitely my favorite April Fool movie!
P.S. Slaughter High is another fun April Fool movie
I still need to check out Slaughter High. And I own it!
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Definitely! It's fun!
One of my favorites! 👏
It's already one of mine. Loved this.
hey Lee!
Hey Chris!
I loved this film.
Hell yeah!
yeah, final act is like Excorcist and Fright night
Indeed.
Hey Lee if you haven't seen it yet you should check out Coming home in the Dark.it is super tense and a excellent performance from Daniel Gillies.definitly worth a look
I'll look it up Amelia. Thanks!
Been looking to see this one for years. It will cost me roughly 33 bucks to get the Scream Factory Blu to the UK! Luckily a friend has a copy of the DVD, better than nothing so will check it out soon 🤟
I just ordered the Scream Factory release today. Can't wait to get it.
Definitely gonna have to check this one out it does look like a good movie
This one is a guarantee, especially if you like 80s cheesy horror.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews oh yeah I do for sure I'll give it a watch
Drumdums,
I had been requesting you to review this one for about a couple of years now.
Along with "Superstition" 1982
"Fear no Evil" 1981
"Mirrors" (with Keifer Sutherland)
Please Review!!
Thanks Roger. I will get to them. Looking forward to it.
3 of the guys in White Sister formed the band Tattoo Rodeo. They had a little more success with that band.
Yes I’ve heard about that band. Really interesting.
Very likeable characters and I love that song that keeps playing throughout lol. A good slasher that could’ve been great if they actually showed the damn kills. So frustrating
Yeah the kills could have been better, but the batshit crazy last act more than makes up for it.
I have the movie...but I'm not sure if I've watched it. Guess I need to check it out!!
It’s great!
There is a remake of April Fools Day, and Scout Taylor Compton is in it
I thought so.
So the 1980s charm theme spark a debate last night with me and my friends around the fire in the pit in the back. No not the pit with the kid in the teddy bear, but an actual fire pit I dug in the ground. No not the gate great movie as well, but just a regular pit. But I digress what was it about the '80s? The acting? The cinematography? The soundtrack? The characters? Or how about the easy answer all of the above. Every generation just has a style of look feel acting and sound. But there's just something about the '80s where it's getting out of the grime of the seventies polishing itself up for the freedom of the 90s and the downfall of humanities Goodwill towards men and behavior in the 2000s. It All started from the 1980s what was the charm in your opinion everyone? I apologize for the run-on sentence but I have to use speech to text since I don't really have use of my hands
dam I need a room like yours man lol only thing I've collected is a fat load of Blu rays (around 1000) but those masks are so well represented , where abouts did you get the masks and Michael's knife from ? if I am to buy some merchandise 100% starting off with Michael's , also got a real random question, what kind of camera would you recommend to do a livestream with? I tried to use my phone at my mums haunted hospital she owns in wales lol but the signal was so crap :(
I have links to my equipment in the info box. I have a couple of different WebCams I use for my live streams. Most of my masks were sent to me from good friends. The knife was custom made by one of my subscribers that’s a metal worker. It’s huge.
