Alyx is such a boss VR game, they've got to keep it up. No other VR title out there can match the tightness and robustness, the number of objects, and combat accuracy. It would be a great shame if Valve did not continue pushing the VR envelope.

Half Life 2 was ruined by those APPALLING vehicle sections. If it wasn't for that shit show, I'd love that game. if this isn't a hoax, they'd do justice by omitting those shoddy vehicle sections.

I just figured out why half-life 3 hasn't released. Hearing all of this data and having developed for small projects myself I think I understand what's going on. When Mass effect 3 came out there were confirmed reports that Valve employees were absolutely petrified that the same reaction would be levied against Half-Life 3. In other words no matter what they did it wasn't going to be good enough. Now hearing all of this division within valve where some of them want to use unreal engine instead of a new source engine is absolutely crazy. The idea that anyone in the company would argue to not try to make an engine to beat unreal means that there are people that have given up. If the company culture is to no longer make games because they can't make an engine that is as good as Half-Life 2 and source engine was when it came out, well I guess they never will be what they want to be. The fact of the matter is unreal engine 5 probably made them pause once again and made them realize competing in this industry takes hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars now. Why would they even try when they have so much money coming in from steam. That's a demotivating factor as well. They were a lot hungrier when they had to prove that steam was something and that's why Half-Life 2 was one of the greatest if not the greatest game of all time. They still had something to prove. Now they have steam so even when it comes to investors, I'm going to invest in them because I know they're going to make money. Even if they made a half-life 3 that was as good as Half-Life 2 it would make a fraction of the money that they make on steam. It's really sad but I just don't think we're ever going to get a half-life 3 that's going to be really very good if I'm honest. Even if it does come out it's not going to look as good as an unreal engine 5 game. It just can't. You can see everything they are trying to do here, they want to do everything at once instead of just releasing some damn games. We would rather have games that look a little bit less than unreal engine 5 then nothing, but their ego won't let it be. They have to be valve and they have to be the best. The sad reality is they just aren't the best when it comes to engine technology any longer. Their source engine is still amazing especially for online titles, and it's extremely robust with features and the net code is amazing like I said. However consumers do care about how it looks and it just doesn't look as good as unreal engine 5 at the end of the day.

So this gotta mean Full-Dive VR is a thing of now? No way Valve would lower themselves to the same level as plebians and release a normal game for once that's revolutionary only in the fact that Valve didn't tryhard to blow up the market.
