This does not necessarily mean that we are getting grenade skins, even though it is definitely a possibility. Also, they like to gauge the community's reactions to these types of ideas, so they don't rule anything out unless they have a really good reason to do so. If we start spamming that we want grenade skins everywhere, they will probably add it. Specially if it means more monetization for their game.
9:56 Actually, the "V8" is most likely referring to the engine that the Javascript runs on. Typescript is currently on version 5.1. Also, VScript2 seems like it'll be more based on Lua, not Javascript (unless they've changed their minds).

@ As far as Alyx shows, Valve is _intending_ to have a nonrealistic and stylized look for their games. They'll probably improve the fidelity of how CS:2"s operators achieve that style, but they're still going to remain slightly cartoonish. You'll have to live with that hatred I guess.

I know CS is a competitive game, so character model is not their priority but you can’t compare between CS2 and Half-Life Alyx tho, CS2 models look so bad and don’t even have facial expression, at least in Half-Life 1 and CS1.6, character model will opens their mouth when players using voice chat. They should make character models based on real-life actors like what they’re already did before.

I think grenade skins can be bad if they are for example "camouflaged" like when a blue grenade is thrown, it is harder to see when looking at the sky.
The only idea of nade skins i like is the idea of T sided molly’s would have different beer/wine bottle brands with different colored bottles and liquids

I've been follwoing CSGO for a long while yet never could properly play the game myself cause most of my deaths always were due to not seeing where enemies are or not knowing extremely fringe sightlines or scummy plays exploiting smokes, I'm happy CS2 aims to fix these issues by reworking smokes and making sure all of their maps are bright enough. can't wait for the supposed summer release.
By the name of the "sonicsmoke" it could be something like a nade that when it explodes, it send some kind of signals that shows where the enemy is. you kknow, like when a bat is sending sound waves and gets a response from the objects the sound hit.
I thought more about this and it makes sense that when you throw that kind of nade, and there are enemies in the radius of that nade, it would show on radar for like 2-3 seconds if there are enemies there. It would be nice if we will have this as it would change the meta pretty good but not much enough to impact the game play.
in a lot of the automatic screenshots, csm and colour correction are disabled (as can be seen in the previous ones for ancient and the current one for italy), so the inferno screenshots don't look as good as they could

grenade skins make sense, since you could pickup grenades of other players and it showed up in the bottom right as it did with guns. Would be great to get the map soon. Maybe the maps we are seeing is a kind of countdown.

when it comes to grenades, instead of reskin them they might allow players to change out the models to something else which is why we could inspect them, which is my guess
I think it would be more likely to do map or agent based utility skins compared to marketable skins. Ones that you cant equip individually, and are either tied to your agent or the map you're playing on.

Valve could add literally any cosmetic items to the game and I'd still buy 'em. Grenades being a one time use or not you still see them, so why not capitalize on it?
Honestly, considering the thing with the eyes and the Mirage files, would it be too far fetched to say they're maybe working on a Campaign mode or something similar and they want to incorporate the maps into it somehow? The darker Mirage would maybe look more cinematic that way and visibility isn't as big of a deal in Single Player/Coop. Just a thought obviously.
