VAC update is the most interesting for me. Imagine how beautiful this game would be if there were no cheaters. You would never actually play against cheaters, but also never would have to question if the guy that wallbanged you is cheating or got lucky. The uncertainty is a big part of the pain in games where cheaters are rampant.
Games will always have cheaters, even games with an intrusive AC like Valorant have cheaters, but they are so few and far between that you don't even notice as much, CSGO has so many that it gives you the impression that it has more than it actually has, how many times have you seen legit player get called cheaters? This cheating problem creates a paranoia in players had that makes every good player seen suspicious.
I dont know about a mobile version of CS2 but I think its likely we could see an inventory management app dedicated to CS2 kind of like how pokebank works for pokemon games. itll likely add another layer of protection (hopefully not tied to steam mobile authenticator that causes a cooldown whenever its removed), management of storage units and (hopefully) improved trading features. this one is wishful thinking but having features similar to floatdb (a general database for all currently existing skins) would be pretty neat too.
Well... We already can manage our inventory the Steam app, or are you talking about like changing what weapons are you using, opening cases and inspecting skins?
It is possible tho, there are plenty of mobile CS copycats (Standoff and Special Force being the ones that are the most polished one and they're games that I had actually played myself). I'm also a veteran shooter mobile player and so I can safely say that it might be possible plus, even valorant has now created a mobile version of their game which looks and seems to be close enough to the pc version and thus why I can see an official CS Mobile possible in the near future.
No matter who says anything bad about new engine of the game and the transition to it, I'm excited much. That's a fact, that we're literally on the threshold of something bigger, of new era, which will make a slight innovation and "revolution" in Valve's games at all. If you have a weapon in your right hand, you can see that everyone has a weapon in their right hand... If the enemy has a weapon in the left hand, the shadow is on the other side than if your weapon is in the right hand, and if they want to add left-hand support again, they need to make that everyone can see that some players have the weapon in left side also. They would need to remove the option for changing weapons left/right side from the console and lock in only to be changed in settings because I and others are using buttons for changing left/right weapon models... The model would also change the shadow weapon location and this would hide the weapon shadow in some places where you can pretty much see it.

I'd say there's a large chance "pets" are charms since so many other FPS games do it now. Also i do find it a bit weird for them to be working on an operation with new skins on the "old" CSGO models rather than the new CS2 models as they atm can't decide what skins should have new models or not cus they keep getting changed in the beta.

As a mapper you enable chicken spawns by inserting the “info_map_parameter” entity and changing the value of “pet_population” to any number greater than 0. I don’t think we’re getting pets in the way you suggested in this video, but it would be cool if we could, albeit not very befitting of a competitive FPS game.

I think left handed view can done on the client side though. I mean CSGO displays you on the server as righthanded even though your viewmodel is lefthanded. Hope Valve can fix this soon. It may only be a viewmodel but it currently messes up my lineups, angle clearing procedures and recoil muscle memory in CS2.

i am sure valve is going to add in the left handed view model eventually, they just wont have the shadow move since its no clear advantage to using left vs right handed me personally im using the left handed view model & its great i can see my entire right side of my screen with no issues

Small note on Subtick: The game does not appear to send commands "instantly", instead buffering them and sending them as a packet once per tick. I am currently trying to work out more details, the protobufs have some features that I just don't understand and I don't know who to ask at this time, it would be lovely to ask a developer behind this system some questions.
It's just an addition to lag compensation that they hyped up massively, lmao. Instead of the server rewinding time by the packet latency to the server to see if you would've hit the shot accounting for your lag, it now adds the latency between when you shot and when the client sent the packet at the next tick to that number as well. So now your client just keeps track of when you do stuff like shooting, throwing nades, pressing/releasing a movement key, etc. This is a bit oversimplified because the subtick system is bypassed for things like jumpthrows and bhops or else it'd be impossible to land a perfect hop since you'd have to hit one at the exact fraction of a millisecond instead of within 1 tick (~16ms). For bhops, if you would have hit one in 64 tick, it probably allows it. For jump throws, it has actually been buffed so you pretty much always hit one, even if you wouldn't have in the old CSGO without a bind.
@@Exachad First, Source lag compensation doesn't work based on your latency, any lag compensation based on your ping will inherently be off. Second: Its not overhyped in the slightest. Having subtick viewangles and action timestamps is pretty important and I am actually a bit shocked CSGO didn't employ a system like this before.

Lag compensation has to be tailored to each individual player's packet delay at each specific tick. In combination with prediction, lag compensation can help to combat network latency to the point of almost eliminating it from the perspective of an attacker." Also, by hyped up massively, I didn't mean overhyped. I just mean that based on the hype video they dropped and stuff, people are gonna assume this was a massive innovation and undertaking by them when it was actually quite a simple addition to lag compensation. The exceptions they had to make for jump throws, bhops, etc., were probably harder than adding the sub-tick system itself.

How would you even measure the time it took for your action to reach the server? It is much easier to subtract the sent tick from the current server tick and get an offset that allows you to select the right tick from the lagcomp records. I could be completely wrong with this, but so far the two people I talked to that know a little bit about CSGOs netcode both told me that my assumptions are right. It should be noted that the Valve Developer Page is community edited, that doesn't mean it is wrong, but it means it can be wrong, not that i am saying it is, I am happy about additional information.
Why do I keep hearing that switching to left hand will cause any issue because I can see my own shadow? Just make it the same as weapon inspection which is only visible to me and not to others or on my shadow. It seems so obvious to me.
I think many changes might be good for new players, but kinda take away the skill basement requirement. Like everything is fed to bad players and they don't have to use their brain as much. You see a smoke? You know it belongs to the enemy. You are the last player, you don't need to press tab or remember how many players on the enemy team are alive. I know some might disagree with me, but I like CS:GO to be a game where skill is the main focus on all levels. Making things easier takes that away a little.

@@TheBanana93 neither am I. Actually I was even on a road to Silver from DMG, which I achieved a couple months ago. My point is that in competitive play you need to be challenged as much as it gets. To get better at the game, you need to hone your skills. There is casual mode, danger zone and all the other fun modes where skill does not matter. But at least competitive should be exactly that. By the way I think I am probably in the top 1% of Zeus and knife kills, so fun is still important to me.
its beta, they are basically removing all console commands for now so that nothing game breaking happens like the physics active highlight part, console will go nowhere .
People forget you can you a Bluetooth Mouse + Keyboard for mobile. As somebody who travels a lot and only has to have a laptop for only CSGO,This would be the best change they could implement for me.
The anticheat needs to be revamped so that there are less cheaters. I don't care if the new system automatically detects the cheaters to kick live in game, I need the cheaters gone b4 they play 100 games with hacks and then they get caught "live"
funnily enough ive been playing for the past month and havent encountered a single cheater, i play like maybe 2 hours a day, and every now and then stop.
CS2 Mobile could be huge to completely demolish the bad knock offs like Counter Attack, Critical Ops, Special Forces Group 2 and Standout 2 from the mobile app stores.
If they add a mobile port they need to allow keyboard and mouse support. I've tried a ton of mobile games and even with my devices set up I can't play with anything other then phone controls or a controller.
Technically speaking, Source 3 would receive a major graphics update, and chances are, Source 2 will receive destructible environment for different games in couple of years. Possibly, a complex AI system embedded into the engine. The only options I see for the engine to remain competetive. I'd say graph neural networks.
I love the changes, just please no mobile version! I feel it would just split the community in half and the kids from mobile would be annoying asf (like pubg and its mobile version). Also the maps and smokes look way too cartoonish, i understand its for visibility but sometimes its nice to have some casual fun too! Im very excited for cs2
The colour smokes per player does not really make sense...because if a smoke pops you can be like oh..player so and so just popped his smoke... makes more sense in Dangerzone.
I dont belive that full release would be as soon as june. If we compared to dota2 it took abaout 3 months but it was open beta right away comparing to cs where we got super limited early access. Or if we comparing to valorant where they also say that release will be on summer beta last abaout 2 months and was released start of the june but they was giving way more access keys right away comparing to cs2. I would guess that soonest when we can get full version of cs2 is july but more likely it will come on august.

CS2 Mobile could be huge to completely demolish the bad knock offs like Counter Attack, Critical Ops, Special Forces Group 2 and Standout 2 from the mobile app stores.

Late but sub tick is still 64 tick for clients it seems to only effect server behavior, trying to time ur events based on the time you sent the packet
If they add a mobile port they need to allow keyboard and mouse support. I've tried a ton of mobile games and even with my devices set up I can't play with anything other then phone controls or a controller.
I wish the sound effects look like in Heal Let loose game.So far the sound effects in CS 2 is just very much average

Technically speaking, Source 3 would receive a major graphics update, and chances are, Source 2 will receive destructible environment for different games in couple of years. Possibly, a complex AI system embedded into the engine. The only options I see for the engine to remain competetive.

I love the changes, just please no mobile version! I feel it would just split the community in half and the kids from mobile would be annoying asf (like pubg and its mobile version). Also the maps and smokes look way too cartoonish, i understand its for visibility but sometimes its nice to have some casual fun too! Im very excited for cs2

The colour smokes per player does not really make sense...because if a smoke pops you can be like oh..player so and so just popped his smoke... makes more sense in Dangerzone.

I dont belive that full release would be as soon as june. If we compared to dota2 it took abaout 3 months but it was open beta right away comparing to cs where we got super limited early access. Or if we comparing to valorant where they also say that release will be on summer beta last abaout 2 months and was released start of the june but they was giving way more access keys right away comparing to cs2. I would guess that soonest when we can get full version of cs2 is july but more likely it will come on august.
