Hi. I'm Grace sharing our retirement life in Japan.
How Much YouTube Paid Me For Three Months Being Monetized
How Much UA-cam Paid Me For Three Months Being Monetized
In today's video, I'd like to share about how much I was paid for the first three months of getting monetized. I started UA-cam channel 8 years ago with 1 video for a year and started to add more 4 years ago. After getting monetized 3 months ago, I started to learn more about how algorithm works.
Sharing how much paid me for three months of sharing videos is important, but I'd like also to share why I am creating and sharing videos on UA-cam.
Here are my reasons:
1. Sharing for me is combatting loneliness of caregiving in Japan.
2. Share My Life Stories in Japan with my disabled Japanese husband.
3. Stay Mentally Active.
4. Inspire and Empower
5. Sharing Videos Means Documenting Memories of My Life.
And as I spend more time and effort and money to make quality videos, a desire to take opportunities to earn which UA-cam offers to supplement income especially for me who will be availing small amount of pension in Japan.

Why I Wanted To Be An Older Woman in Japan as Filipina

Why I Wanted To Be An Older Woman in Japan as Filipina? That is because I've dealt with a lot of hardships caused by misconceptions about Filipinas as sex slaves of Japanese men. When I was younger, it's so weird for wishing of becoming older when everyone wants to be younger. But now that I'm older, I realized wasting my time to feel insecure about how people thinks of me as a person. In this ...

This is the second time i watched this video. The first time i din’t know you yet so i did no comment. I also wanted to retire in the Philippines like you but i can’ t leave my son here alone. I am trying to educate him in eating healthy. It was God’s will because i got hospitalized last feb. 5 last yr. If was in rhe Phil. and got sick i had to spend so much for medical bills. My husband nephews son was hospitalized with shingles and they paid 300,000 pesos. I believe it because my brother’s hospital bills are astronomical. So i have decided to retire here in Japan. Good luck to both of us and God bless you and your family.Loving always, your ate.
Hello, Ate Rose. Yes, you're correct. It's very expensive in the Philippines when it comes to healthcare. So, Ate, you've decided to spend the rest of your life in Japan? I did. I preferred living in Japan over the Philippines.
@ Yes, Grace. I have decided to retire here like you. Masaya sa atin pero may ugali ang Filipino na nakakaasar. My son is so generous that everytime he goes home for vacation he gives money to some relatives. Pag walang ibayad ng kuryente binabayaran niya. Ibinibili ng tsinelas, nagbibigay ng pera sa pamangkin ko sa pinsan ( second cousin). We are close because they are my immediate neighbors and those nephews stayed in my house for free when they had their own families. Noong nakabahay yong isa yong isa naman ang pumalit. The bad thing is the first son even ask for money to buy rice idinadahilan niya na para sa nanay niya. Kaya ako nagagalit. They abuse your kindness. Sorry for the outburst. I should not be telling you because you have your own worries. Disregard this complain of your ate. May topak nga kung minsan. Love you and your family!
Ate Rose, I don't mind hearing or knowing those realities of ugly Filipino culture and don't worry that I'll be bothered by your stories. Don't worry about my "worries" because worrying has been my hobby for so long. LOL. To be honest, I have had experienced the worst things from ungrateful people from our country- from my own blood related families.
@ Thanks.
Dear Grace. Thank you for your latest video & congratulations on your ‘ video channel ‘ success, it’s very well deserved. You have put a lot of effort into it , just like you do in everything else that you do everyday. We can see that you are very happy in your old house & the area that you are now living. Your husband is also a fighter , he’s working very hard on his exercises, it can’t be easy for him. Life has got a bit easier for me recently but because my wife lost some of her top jaw , through radiation treatment when she was still living in Tokyo , she is not able to eat solid foods, hence she does not eat enough & has been recently diagnosed as being in danger of ‘ malnutrition’ . She is very slim , so even in normal times , she never had a big appetite. I turned 80 years old in November , so recently I’ve started to feel more tired. It’s very cold here at the moment but I mustn’t wish th3 days & weeks away as each one is even more precious as we get old. I wish you & your husband & family, a very Happy & Healthy 2025. Kind regards. Ian.
Dear Ian, Yes! Each day is even more precious as we get old. It's clear to me and I can imagine how you feel right now. There are a lot of small and big things that we, as caregiver, can't express or share to others so I know how difficult and lonely it is. Take care, Ian.
@@livingwithgraceinjapan Dear Grace thank you, please take care of yourself also. Kind regards, Ian.

Hi Grace thanks for the video and I'm so pleased that youtube is working out for you. It's hard when a greater number of the simple everyday tasks fall to you but despite everything please try to look after yourself. Happy New year and best wishes from England 🏴.
Thank you, Peter, for reminding. You're correct. I'm exerting effort to give myself some kind of reward which is for me, hard. Best wishes to you and your family, too.
All credit to you the improvements to the garden and house are fabulous, although it was hard work it will add to the improvement in the mental health of both you and your husband, the buttercup yellow is such a welcoming colour
Thank you, Colleen for especially mentioning the colour. I love yellow as interior colour at home so with orange and light brown as those colours will for sure match will my plants.
Your lunch looks delicious, wishing you both good health and prosperity in 2025
Our new year lunch is a simple one and we eat the same lunch all year round except Osechi (Japanese New Year traditional choices of meaningful foods). Thank you for the wishes for me and my husband. Wishing you the same.
Congratulations, Grace! All your hard work and perseverance truly is paying off. Here's wishing for you an amazing and happy 2025!
Thank you so much!! Looking forward to better videos to upload.

Hello, Mary! I was thinking about you during the holidays! I hope you're doing well. Thank you for watching and being here today!
Grace , I am really really so happy you are being monetized for your videos upload. Though the amount may not be big but some how I think it make you feel great 🎉 The viewers who make you feel that you are not alone and isolated is the main reward that you get. Congratulations to you again🎉 and hope that 2025 is even a more fulfilling year blessed with good health.

Hello, thank you so much! My "thank you so much" is over rated but I mean it a lot. Thank you!!
Hello Grace! Happy New Year! 🎉 You are an inspiration and source of joy and hope. I’m like your husband …I went from wheelchair and now drive a walker 😊 praying the both of us will graduate to walking without the walker. 🙏 Last year I was taking care of my mom with breast cancer and this year (same time …Christmas) it my older brother with newly diagnosed cancer. Imagine this while I’m using a walker 😵💫 When I sit and watch your vlogs it warms my heart. Your light keeps my light lit ❤ Sending you love and healing …always ❤ Ate Fran
Ate Fran, thank you for letting me know that I serve as a light to yours. I have a lot to thank you of. Please keep yourself strong always, Ate Fran. You'll make it. You and other viewers inspire me so much. I'm being guided and watched by Him. I know He does.

Salute you Grace! You're a very good wife to your husband ❤Congrats 🎉 maganda ang pasok ng 2025. Stay safe and healthy 🙏
Thank you, Mai san. I feel that you're a beautiful person. You, too!!
Happy New Years Grace. Congratulations on getting monetized! There’s always something interesting to see or learn in your videos. I just learned about the new years soba. For that last two years I’d go to my friends house on New Year’s Eve and they’d serve homemade soba after midnight and I know my friend said it was a tradition but I just assumed it was a family tradition, not a Japanese one. Because our family is small, many traditions were lost, like “pounding mochi” which we use to do until about 15 years ago. Thanks for sharing! It helps me learn or remind me our my Japanese culture.
You're one of the reasons why I had a great 2024. Best regards to you for another year 2025. Thank you. Preparing soba in midnight of New Year's Eve is kind of a duty or obligation. Dinners are served around 7 or 8pm so by the time it's midnight, everyone is full and sleepy but moms have to make a New Year soba to serve and wake up those who are sleeping. LOL. I learned Japanese culture and adapted.
@ I’m glad I helped make 2024 a good year for you. Not only do I admire you for the way you take care of your husband but also because you’ve learned the Japanese culture and adapted to be part of it rather than try to change it to fit you. I’m sure that’s not easy to do but you did it well Grace. Take care!
Grace, i can’t wait to finish the video, so i have to pause it. I’m so happy for ❤ you. You don’t have to worry about earning a living when you get older. I had the same worry before but my children said mama sell your inheritance so could use it for yourself. It is not much but .with my little pension i think i could survive. Congratulations for your channel being monetized. More power to you! Always your ate.
Yes, Ate Rose. I am exerting effort to be consistent on making videos. I love it so I will make it, for sure. With your short story about yourself, I am honestly dreaming to meet you one day in person. Take care, Ate Rose.
@@livingwithgraceinjapan Thank you Grace.Me too. Maybe we can meet someday with the grace of our Lord. You deserve everything. You work so hard. I always tell my children, your mother is poor but the wealth i can give you is teaching you to be a good person. Be kind to others and you will be happy. I don’ t mean i am perfect. May topak din ako at may ugali ding hindi maganda but i’m trying my best to be a good person. Love again, your ate.
Mabuti po dyan walang masyadong handa sa new year. Pinoy dito subra-subra ang handa yung iba tinatapon na kinabukasan. Prutas dini-display kahit hilaw basta kumpleto lang ang 13fruits hindi naman yumayaman. Pinoy culture hindi kona maintindihan.😕

Hello, Ms Stine!! Thank you!! You're one of the answers to my reasons why I started a channel. Thank you!
Happy New Year again Grace. All your plants look so healthy and wonderful. Your food looks yummy too!
Hello, Christi. Regarding plants, they're healthier than my husband. LOL. Thank you, Darling. You're such a darling.
@ awe, you are so sweet🌸❤️
You eat a very healthy diet. That is part of the reason your husband is healing. My Grandson loves to eat ramen soup at restaurants. I try to make it at my home but he says I have not gotten it quite right yet.😂
A table with vegetables is a feast for me than meat. I exert effort to add beef as they said, seniors need to eat meat more. Oh, preparing soup for ramen is a skill even for ramen shops chef, they are trained well. I never tried making soup for ramen myself. It's expensive and time consuming. Thank you for watching.
@ thank you for your work and time.
That's Great News ! Congratulations on your channel getting monetized . Its also great to see the progress your husband has made and is no longer dependent on the wheelchair. I hope you get a chance to do some short trip videos as well . Happy New Year !!
Thank you so much! I am happier than him when this new walker delivered to us and seeing him walk. Wheelchair is good but traveling using trains is a cumbersome job for station masters. They need to assist us whenever we get on and off trains. Walker like this one is manageable for me.
Happy New Year ❤️ po asking lang if okay lang my mga anak po ba kayo?
Yes, we do have. But I limit sharing about our children because they're grown up and having their own families, decent families. We're senior na and not working full time, ( I do have my freelance job too that I should limit giving so much details and informations not related to "retirement, disability" life stories we have.
